What are those things, Mom???

As we were out walking the other night, we heard a very strange sound. Dakota wooed that she had heard it before but didn't know what it was. Phantom thought it was just more noisy bipeds like are at our house during the day.

But I wasn't sure, so I looked at Mom and stared her into crossing this busy street so we could get closer to the sound.

Mom didn't want to go across because of all the cars but we used all our eyes and looked both ways before stepping out there. (We were hoping to see some deer - do woo see that sign?)

Of course, Phantom the Puller got there first. More intense watching!

C'mon, Phanty, move over and make room for us.

"Now, now, let's not be so pushy, everyone spread out," said Mom. "That's much better."

Look, what ARE those?

Look, there's more.

Here's another view.

Well, Mom, what are they? They make a lot of noise and they really stink!!!!

Mom told us that these creatures are miniature donkeys and they live on a piece of property right near us. How could that be? We live in a very peaceful refined area. But she told us they got the city to "grandfather" them so they could still live there. Now, Mom has really confused us, we thought our Dad was a grandfather - words can be so confusing sometimes.

  14. Those are pretty funny looking things. I'm glad you got to go look at them better. You guys were being so good and not scaring them, that might have made the grandfather mad.I wonder why a grandfather wanted those miniature donkys to live there?

  15. Ooh, very cool. Natasha is totally enthralled with horses, but her one experience up close convinced her they are too big. Maybe a mini donkey would be more her taste.
