What are those things, Mom???

As we were out walking the other night, we heard a very strange sound. Dakota wooed that she had heard it before but didn't know what it was. Phantom thought it was just more noisy bipeds like are at our house during the day.

But I wasn't sure, so I looked at Mom and stared her into crossing this busy street so we could get closer to the sound.

Mom didn't want to go across because of all the cars but we used all our eyes and looked both ways before stepping out there. (We were hoping to see some deer - do woo see that sign?)

Of course, Phantom the Puller got there first. More intense watching!

C'mon, Phanty, move over and make room for us.

"Now, now, let's not be so pushy, everyone spread out," said Mom. "That's much better."

Look, what ARE those?

Look, there's more.

Here's another view.

Well, Mom, what are they? They make a lot of noise and they really stink!!!!

Mom told us that these creatures are miniature donkeys and they live on a piece of property right near us. How could that be? We live in a very peaceful refined area. But she told us they got the city to "grandfather" them so they could still live there. Now, Mom has really confused us, we thought our Dad was a grandfather - words can be so confusing sometimes.

Watching and Waiting

Phantom has moved from the window to the front door.

Here's another look - he is very intent on something, isn't he?

Let ME take a look too, maybe I can figure it out.

Hey, be patient, give me a second here, I need time to look and concentrate.

OK, I got it, Phantom just wooed to me what he is watching for, but it's not a "what", it's a "who".

Phantom told me that our good friend, the Honorary Husky Huffle, is going on a world tour, and he doesn't want to miss Huffle if he stops in Overland Park.

So, dear Huffle, if woo read this, please remember to add the OP Pack to your itinerary.

Now for some other exciting business to tend to, we got another award, this time from our furiend Echo in Pennsylvania. It is a very pretty award - look at it!!!

Guessssssssss what I ssssssssssssspotted yesssssssssssterday!!!!

If woo suffer from Ophidiophobia, woo might want to stop reading now. But if woo want to see what I found the other day in my yard, take a look.

This is the window well from the basement of our house.

And here I am checking out a new smell. What is it? Where is it?

Ready??

Can you see my new friend, Sammy the Snake??
Want a closer look?

Issssssssn't he jussssssssst ssssssssssssssssssso sssssssssssssspecial??? But I don't know how to get down in that hole.
Mom didn't think he was very sssssssssssssspecial at all. She watched him all day and finally he ssssssssssssslithered away through the drain hole down there. Ssssssssshucksssssssss, firsssssst Tony the Turtle, and now Sammy the Snake.

I wonder what I will find next.

Woo, Thunder

****Pee Ess**** On my walkie last night, I grabbed the tastiest treat from the sidewalk. Mom wasn't quite quick enough. Too bad she didn't have her camera because this was a good one. She said it was a lawnmower-recycled sun-baked dead snake!!!!! It was in two parts and I had both of them in my mouth. BUT once again she told me to "leave it" - I resisted until she smacked me in the jaw, then I decided to be good and dropped it. Too bad no camera.

UPDATE FROM MOM @2:00 P.M. today ------ Don't tell Thunder but Sammy the Snake has not left. He is still down in that window well. Whatever do I do now? I am terrified to go in and get it but I don't think it knows how to get out.

Me and my Wubba

[Before I share a fun video with my furiends, it is with great sadness that we note the passing of a very special lady. Sitka, Tia, and Cornelia Marie's mom has lost her very special Nana. Yesterday was Nana's birthday and the angels in heaven decided that this special lady was to have a beautiful party in the heavens. All our paws are crossed here as we remember Shelli's sweet Nana.]

Since efurryone here was furry sad about the news, I decided to be a good boy and not bug Dakota. Here I am finding my own kind of fun. Click here to see how much I love my red wubba.

Pee Ess - Mom says she is sorry about the background noise but Dad was watching "House" and had the TV on very very loud.

All I want to do is PLAY!!!

Some of woo may remember the trouble Zim of the AO4 was having the other day trying to get some pupster named Dave to play with him. Well, it must be a Kansas thing because, if you click here , woo can watch me trying to engage my big sister Dakota in some fun.

OK, Dakota here, let's set the record straight. I could flatten him in two seconds if I wanted to. It's just not worth the exertion. I am saving my energy for my search for food. Food, food, food, I want Food!!!

[Sidebar from Mom - you have to know that
this is remarkable tolerance from Dakota. I have never seen her let any dog put its head over her neck OR go anywhere near her tail without her reacting in a not so nice way. She even lets Thunder Dunder sleep in her crate! Since she has been sick, she has really mellowed.]

Aw, c'mon, woo all know Princess Dakota loves me - what's not to love about Wonderful Thunder-ful!!

Finally A Walk

As we told woo yesterday, we have had a lot of rain here and didn't get to take a walk for a few days. Finally Saturday the skies cleared for a few hours before the remnants of Ike hit us and we got to take a soggy Saturday stroll.

Please come take a walk with us by clicking here.

When It Rains . . .

Like a lot of areas in the country, we have been inundated with lots of rain lately.

The OP Pack gets a daily walk most of the time.

The OP Pack loves their daily walk all of the time.

The OP Pack needs their daily walk, especially Thunder Dunder.

Unfortunately, the recent heavy rain (five inches so far and THAT count is pre-arrival of Ike) has not allowed Mom to accommodate the OP Pack's wants and needs. If woo click here, woo can see what happens when the OP Pack doesn't get their walk.

Hope woo enjoy the video even though it was a bit on the dark side.

What do I hear??? Where are they???

Mom thought this was a pretty cute reaction from the quiet guy here - Phantom.

Phantom was sure there were some new furiends in Mom's laptop. Click here to watch him.

If you pay a visit to The Washington Woos, woo can see what Phantom was hearing.

My Special Sunday Car Trip

What a lucky pup I was today. I got to go for a ride in Mom's car. Now you might think, what's so special about that? Well, usually I only get to go in the car for two things: either I am going to see "thevet" OR I am going to the groomer for a bath. But this time was diffurent. I usually get to go in the car with my seatbelt on. But this time Mom pulled one of the seats out of the second row of the babymobile (that's her nickname for the minivan). She put my crate in the empty spot.

Hmmmmm, I thought, I am not so sure I like this. I almost NEVER have to go in my crate anymore. Once in a while, if I am really muddy or if I get lucky enough to have a bullystick or a big fat marrow bone, I might spend some time in there. I also like to sleep in there sometimes, but only with the door unlocked.

So then she put me in the crate and locked the door. She did let me have some of my chew bones, my blankie, and of course, my primo pad which I still haven't destroyed. (Are you thinking about my HULA certificate?) Oh sorry, I got offtrack there. So, let's see, oh yes, then we pulled out of the driveway and took the route to the highway. We drove for about a half hour and then she pulled into a big parking lot and parked the babymobile.

I wondered what would happen next. Well, Mom got out and opened my side of the minivan and let me out of the crate, on a leash, of course. We walked around for a few minutes and I got a chance to water one of the trees there. First thing I know, Mom is saying "There she is!" Who, who could it be? Well, I got to meet one of the nicest ladies AND to make it even more special, she is the mummi of efurribodi's favorite MalPal SUMMI!!!!! Yes, I got to meet up close and personal with Ms. Shelly. And here we are!!!

This is the parking lot of a Panera near the KCI airport in north Kansas City. One of the first things I did was to sniff Summi's Mummi all over and I finally found the pupscent on her shoes. I knew then that she was an OK gal.

Here I am resting while Mom and Shelly chatted and enjoyed a pecan danish and beverages. Mom had brought me a chewy bone to gnaw on but Ms. Shelly shared some of her yummi danish with me.

Mom and Summi's Mummi spent a lot of time just talking but every once in a while, I got a nice ear scratching or some snuggle time with my new friend. If you look closely on the right side of the photos, woo can see Mom's RAL bag from the AO4's Mom.

And then before I could get any more huggies, it was time to hit the road. I had such a fun visit with my new friend. I just had to let her know how much I liked her. Here is one of Mom's favorite pics.

So that was my Sunday morning. It was a fantastic adventure.

We Hit the Jackpot

We are so excited because we have been given so many awards this week.

Furst, our good furiends, the AO4, selected us to receive this beautiful award the Brillante Weblog Award.

We were so happy to accept this award from Stormy, Amber, Dave, and Zim. There were a whole bunch of rules that go along with this award but so many of our friends deserve to receive it too. So we would like to offer it to all of you "just because."

Then the great Queen Meeshka achieved a remarkable accomplishment last week with her 100 blog postings to raise money for some of our less fortunate pals at Harnessed to Hope Northern Breed Rescue. She decided to offer her famous HULA honorary membership certificate to all of her SMS friends. So we can now display another wonderful award. Isn't it just a dandy item? Now we have to go prove we deserve it - shhhh, don't tell Mom.

And last, but certainly not least, today we learned that we had received another really super award from the beautiful Gucci. Thank woo, sweet Gucci, that was so furry sweet of woo to do.

So here are the rules for this award thing:
1. The winner can put the logo on his/her blog.
2. Link the person you received your award from.
3. Nominate seven other blogs.
4. Put links of those blogs on yours.
5. Leave a message on the blogs that you've nominated.

It is always so hard to pick awardees. There are so many deserving blogs out there and so many furry good furiends. We have decided to share this award with Pacco de Mongrel, Domino, River, Kaela K and Maebe Baebe, Khyra, Tia, Sitka and Cornelia Marie, and Eva and Brice.

Thanks to all for these super awards.

How do woo like this curvaceous pose?

And take your pick of Studmuffin Thunder:

Or how about this one where I help hold up the cabinet wall?

And, of course, I can really relax and bare my soul!!!

And last but not least, our guy Phantom:
Forget it Mom. I am a modest guy - I don't share my body with just anyone. Not a chance to catch ME as a studmuffin!

Hope you enjoyed our photo session. Woo, the OP Pack Pee Ess, be sure to check out Meeshka and her Week of 100. It's all fur a furry good cause!!!

Another Great Find for Thunder

Hey, do you remember how I told you about my great walk a few days ago where I made a new friend, Tony Turtle? Well, I haven't had any luck in finding him again. Sadly I think he has gone away.

But tonight I heard a really strange noise and heard something whiz by my ear and land in the grass. I pounced as fast as I could and snagged a really tasty, crunchy bug. Mom tried to get it away from me but I was too quick and swallowed it down before she could say those magic words of "Leave It!"

And then, how lucky can a pup get! Just a few paws down the path, I heard that sound again. I put my big swappers into action again and pounced - GOT IT AGAIN. But rut roh - she got me - THUNDER, LEAVE IT!!!. And since woo all know what a good pup I am, I just had to drop it. Here is what I almost got seconds on:

Do you know what THAT is? A great big, yummy, crunchy cicada!!!!

Mom said I might be ready to try out for the next season of "Survivor"!!!
