Storm's a-brewing

Phantom does not like thunderstorms or wild weather of any sort. He likes to hide in his crate or behind a tree outside or tucked in a corner near the deck.

Today has been an extremely windy day here, winds gusting to 55 mph, and the possibility of severe storms overnight. Phantom knew THIS yesterday. He has been doing his best to hide all day long. Mom decided she needed to find a way to distract him. Looks like this worked, at least for a few minutes.

  1. We don;t like storms either -- but yours in Kansas seem to be more unpredictable than ours are.

    Stay safe!!

  2. Poor pups! I don't like thunder, but lucky for us, there isn't much here. So sorry you have such big storms - Mom had a good idea with that great squeaky toy!

  5. poor Phantom, it's no fun to be scared of stuff. that is one crazy looking bird toy. maybe if you chewed off his legs and beak it would take your mind off of the wind.

  9. Stupid spring weather!

It was crazy windy here in Texas too.

Hopefully the rain will come tomorrow and wash away all of the pollen that is making us sneeze!

We hope your storms are not too bad.

  10. That looks like a really fun bird! I have a little bird that I love, but I think I need a big one like that.

PS. Kat says she feels for Thunder. Our mom pushes her away often because Kat wants to give too many kisses and get in the middle of everything.

  11. Phantom, I get scared of the storms too. Lightning and thunder makes me very upset. My Mom thinks it is because when I was alone on the road, I got caught in a bad one with no place to hide. She might be right!

    Stay strong, and kisses,
    Stella

  12. I think that's a great toy to use to forget about thunderstorms. Zeke and I both love it and want it to fall out of the computer! I hope the storm blows over soon - that doesn't sound like fun.

    See ya!

  14. Phantom is a very sensitive pup to know when the weather is going to change.
You should have seen Dawson look around when that toy started to squeak.

  17. Storms scare me too! But when we had thunder tonight, I didn't get too scared because Bricey barked at it and made it go away.

  21. My Grandpa Angus was like that. I could always tell when a storm was coming just by watching him. He used to do stuff like go behind the toilet or stick his face up the chimney to try and communicate with his alien friends.
