Phantom Pheature

Phantom decided that today would be his turn to take over the blog. He doesn't like to be featured too often - he is a little on the shy side but he also tends to be very selective about many things in his life.

He doesn't like thunder - oh, wait, not Thunder Dunder, his brother - thunder as in thunderstorms. Mom can always tell when the weather is going to turn bad because he spends the day hiding in his crate.

He used to be terrified of the dishwasher - he could hear something that the humans did not hear and would just beg to be let outside whenever it was running. But Mom got him one of those new expensive quiet ones and he is OK with it now.

If you ever come to visit, be sure to tell your humans not to wear a baseball hat because he will woo a not so friendly woo at them. The same thing goes for red shirts. The color red is not very high on his list of favorites.

When it comes to food, Phantom is extremely picky. Some days he eats all his food, and other days he chooses to fast completely. It took Mom a long time to find a food that he really liked - that would be Eagle Pack Holistic Chicken. He also loves any kind of pasta and is always hoping Mom will give in and let him have a little of that yummy sauce on it. But he also has a sensitive tummy, so no sauce on the pasta. To really make his day, just give him a taste of ice cream and he is in doggy heaven. He is also known to have a soft spot for pizza.

"Did I hear you say ice cream?"

Did you ever know a dog who would turn his nose up to treats? Well, meet Phantom, he is so picky about his treats. He will sniff the offering and then just turn his back

and walk away from it. He doesn't like bully sticks or lamb ears or hard biscuits that are good for his teeth. BUT there is one treat that he NEVER refuses - and that would be Happy Hearts. We posted about our most recent delivery of these scrumptious treats here.

"I am really hungry, Mom, do I see a Happy Heart cookie in your hand?"

"Thanks, Mom, that really hit the spot."

If you want to learn more about Happy Hearts and why they are so appealing to Picky Phantom, please pop over and visit our good furiend Huffle, the Honorary Siberian Husky. She has a fantastic post today with an interview with the wonderful creator of Happy Hearts, Gerri. We are sure that your humans will be rushing to make a purchase for you once they see all the good ingredients and loving care that go into making these wonderful treats. In fact, they are so good that you might have to hide the bags from the humans because word out there says they think Happy Hearts are good enough for them too.

Woos, the OP Pack

  1. Woo, Phantom! Aren't Happy Hearts the BEST?!!?
You know... about the red shirt thing. Not every biped can pull off wearing red. Maybe THAT'S what concerns you. Have you ever thought about being a Guide Dog for the Color Blind?
    Great post, buddy!

  4. oh phantom and I should be buddies - his eating habits sound a lot like mine - i'm eating merrick's granny pot pie [chicken] it's good but I still refuse it occassionally - I don't like cookie treats - only liver and yogurt drops - I do however love bully sticks but can't have them. Oh and I forgot to tell you - we know when storms are coming too because of my mom - she gets a migraine when a storm is coming

  5. Hey Phantom, you sound like a very interesting pup, a cut above the rest of the herd. I can tell when a storm is coming, too, and believe me, I get very scared. Glad you are enjoying your Cookies!

  34. Woo Phantom, I am going to have to send Mom to find out more about the Happy Hearts. My boys work at a pizza place and boy do they smell good when they come home from work. Once they brought a pizza home and shared some slices with me. That is seriously good food. ~Fenris

Phantom, We thinks it's great your Mom got you a quiet dishwasher and we don't like thunderstorms either. Baseball caps and red shirts on the other hand meet with our approval as our Daddy wears them. ~Socks, Scylla & Charybdis
