Sunday is for Forgiveness

So here is where my mud adventure landed me the other day.

Here I am in my crate. I can only go outside long enough to take care of business.

I spent a lot of time contemplating the error of my ways. I still am not sure I did anything wrong. No, I wasn't digging, I was telling the truth. And I wasn't rolling around in the mud. And there weren't any squirrels throwing mud at me (nice try, Holly and KhadyLynn). I didn't get to swim Bricey style. I guess I was sort of testing the moisture content of the soil, I sure discovered it was quite high.

Actually, what really happened is that I was working out for the PupOlympics by doing relay races along the fence with this big yellow lab who showed up outside our fence. It had been raining for days here and the ground was very wet. It was all grassy where I was practicing so I don't really understand where all the mud came from. But let me tell you, Mom was not very happy - but I didn't know I was going to get all dirty. She shouldn't have been so busy playing Connect Four with the little biped - she should have made me come inside sooner. Oops, I had best not let her hear me say that as I am really working on getting her to forgive me.

I think I hear her coming, let's see what I can do.

I guess this isn't the best way to start even though it is how I feel.

Maybe I should just look really remorseful like this.

Or maybe this way.

Think this might do the trick?

OK, here's what might be the winner.

Ha Roooo Rrooooooooo - works every time.

Woos, Thunder Dunder

  1. awwwwwwww....glad your tactics worked and your mommy forgave you. I wouldn't like to be in a crate - I convinced mommy to take mine to the shelter a long time ago...I thought that it would encourage someone to adopt a doggie if they didn't have to but a crate to take him/her home.....Smart doggie I am!

  5. You sure worked her well! You're free again.

Remember, humans don't like mud in the house. At least the female ones don't.

  6. Thunder Dunder, you are a wonder. We are very glad she forgave you. We were all feeling very sorry for you even our Mommy who apparently feels the same way as your Mommy about MUD.

Although she is very strange she expects dogs to get dirty but thinks it is disgraceful when us cats get muddy. She mumbles something about how disgraceful it is when Fenris is nice and clean and us cats are all muddy and getting HER MUDDY and leaving our MUDDY PAWPRINTS everywhere. We tries to tell her they were Fenris' but she didn't believe us. ~Socks, Scylla & Charybdis

Thunder I am practicing your contrite looks I may need them and you appear to be a master. ~Fenris

  23. That last pic would melt anyone's heart. But it was interesting that your crate door wasn't closed. But our doors are never closed unless we are in a time out. And I'm sure that you can guess who gets time-outs in our house.

  32. I'm glad you have been sprung. I got into some similar trouble yesterday. Mom had been scooping up rocks into the wheelbarrow, but then it started raining, so she went inside. I decided to get into the wheel barrow and jump around in the rocks (and now water) and I got pretty dirty. I had to get the towel.
