So Phantom must be doing better - he's back at his window. He even looks like he might be laughing.

Mom has been taking him for some very short walks the past few nights and she thinks it is helping him a lot. He has been out of his crate more today but not all the time. He hasn't eaten much for a few days but he IS Mr. Picky. He gets his sutures out Monday.

Thunder is checking to see if his buddy is ready to play yet;
he even brought over one of his squirrels.

What's that over there, TD?

I think we saw those last year, remember when we posted about it here?

Oh yeah, TD, now I remember.

It's those mini-donkeys that make all that noisy racket.

The only difference is that last year Dakota was with us too.

While we were out walking tonight, Mom spotted the donkeys and brought us over to the fence. It was just one more of those little things that makes us all remember the Princess. We are all still very sad, but at least we have our sweet memories.

  1. HI Phantom and Dakota and the princess

I love that photo of you three looking at the mini donkeys.. fond memories.

Glad Phantom is making improvements. I can come over to entice some fun times.... I'm good at "stirring the pot" as mom says.

Don't forget tomorrow is Nat'l Ice Cream Day.. someone if only mom needs to post a photo enjoying some...

  7. Thank you for letting us know we missed getting Thunder's picture posted. He was on our list for the drawing, but for some reason his picture was in my completed post file. I tried to edit and post 3 pictures at at time so that I could keep them straight. Sometimes Blogger did not agree with me on the uploads. His picture is up now.

We're glad to see that Phantom is getting about better.

  10. We are glad to hear that Phantom is feeling better... those donkeys sound neat! It's nice when the unexpected thing reminds you of a wonderful memory of Dakota :)

    xo sugar & martine

PS: OUCH on the dewclaw issue... I can't imagine it getting ripped off. Sugar's is cracked and it looks like the pulp is showing, but she wont let us trim it down, I realized something was wrong when she got blood all over our sheets EEK! We go to the vet on thursday for a follow up and will have them try and trim it.

WE will send good vibes your way for Phantoms continued lifted spirits!

  18. You have to enjoy the sweet memories you have. We don't have many sweet memories of poo-face Salvador because he wasn't very sweet, but we still remember him :)

Glad to see Phantom is back at his window, watching for puppies.

  46. It is very sad that you have to do stuff without Dakota, but at least you have your memories and a year of Dakota's blogs to read. Maybe your mom even has more pictures of the three of you since you started blogging.

I'm glad Phantom is feeling better. I bet it helps for him to get out of the house. I bet it would help even more if he took a car ride to Dairy Queen. (Hint, hint, Phantom's mom).
