Oops - what happened to Thursday?

How did we get to Friday so quickly? This post was originally entitled "Thursday Thanks and a little of This and That". Oh well, we lost a day, nothing unusual in our busy lives.

First we need to say thanks to our friend Dennis the Vizsla who gave us the Happy Harvest Award.

Here is what Dennis said:

"of korse this award wuz kreated by the talented purple hatter!!! i wood like to giv this award to my smiley frends sutch as:
  • the op pack hoo ar so happy they eeven smile wile on there way to the dog hotel!!!"
So thanks, Dennis and of course, thanks to the Purple Hatter who does such a wonderful job creating awards. We really don't mind going to the dog hotel for a couple of days - we get lots of attention from all the staff. It is the week long ones that are really not too much fun.

And then look at this other "special" award from Martha and Bailey, our wonderful basset friends from across the big pond.

We think of this as one of the nicest awards that has ever been shared with us. The wonderful PurpleHatter created the award for them to share with their readers. We think you will agree how "special" it is. If you don't know our Bassett furiends, be sure to pay them a visit. We promise you won't regret it.

Many of you asked if the humans brought us anything good from their trip to sunny LA this weekend. The Momster has been so busy that she forgot to let us know that the "something" we were smelling on the counter was for US.

It was her first trip ever to a Trader Joe's and she was fascinated by all the wonderful foods there. Of course, she was nice enough to think of us and bring us these delicious chicken sticks.

We took turns sniffing out the wonderful smell coming from the unopened bag.

Then she finally opened the bage and showed us what they look like.

OK, enough torture, can we please have one?

Phantom takes food so gently.

TD is gentle too but he wastes no time devouring the whole stick in one bite. But wait, we think there might be some more.

Woo Hoo - new stuffies - a raccoon and a beaver
(his tail is tucked under him).

We each had our favorite one - here we are checking them out.

At first Thunder decided to take the raccoon.

But watch what happens in the video - any doubt as to who is the stuffie boss?

It probably isn't as obvious to you from the video as it is to us, but whenever a new stuffie arrives, Phantom is the Chief Stuffie Manager. You can probably catch the look in his eyes when he thinks TD is going to try to take one. After a day or so, the novelty wears off and TD is welcome to have them all.

Wishing all of you a very happy weekend.

Pee Ess to Ginger Jasper: Sorry we didn't include what we found for you. But we will get to it in our next post - you will love it - it will be worth the wait.

  38. Your mom did a great job! My favorite stuffie is a beaver. It looks a little different from yours, but I'm sure you will love yours.

Mom discovered Trader Joe's while on a work trip to CA. Then when she got back to TX, she was so disappointed that there weren't any TJ's in TX. Now that we live in WA, there are TJ's all over the place, but Mom has never gone. What's with that?? I think she needs to go so she can get me some of those sticks.

  39. Hi there Thunder & Phantom,

You both have such great smiles when you were about to get the treats! Smiles from ear to ear! They must be yummy.

The new stuffies are also very cute and woah! they're squeakies. So fun, Phantom.

By the way, your mom is doing great with the video. There are even transitions. Hope our mom can learn faster in taking videos.

    Enjoy your weekend!
