Say It Isn't So

OK, here is what we did this morning - all morning!!!

And why was that? Well, we had been told by the weather experts for two nights in a row now that we would have snow. We are getting a little depressed about this situation.

The Momster finally made us go outside.

Do you see what we have? A very wet deck!
Nothing looks like fluffy white stuff to us.

Do you see snow anywhere, TD?

I'll check over here, Thunder.

I am checking out the yard, Phantom.

OK, flashy box operator, where is IT?

Yeah, Mom, can you please give us a hint?

OK, then. If you can't show me the fluff, then I am going back to bed.

Sounds good to me, but maybe I can find dinner
before I take another snooze.

Can you believe it? All we hear and see on the TV is this massive winter storm headed across the midsection of the country. How much more in the midsection can you get - we are the center of the country from north/south and east/west!!! We are so wanting some snow.

******

Yesterday our special girl Dakota was featured on Zoolatry's Advent Calendar for December 7th. The ZH is so thoughtful and kindhearted. Be sure to check out the post if you would like a Christmas Memory ornament for your Rainbow Bridge pet.

We miss you so much, Dakota. This will be our first Christmas without you. We hope you and all our other furiends there with you have a beautiful holiday season. Our hearts are filled with beautiful memories.

  2. I know how you guys feel about Christmas and being wothout your loved ones. It will be 2 years for my Tabatha and 5 years for Rufus & Titan. It rained Monday in Vegas half the day, which caused Mt. Charleston, Nv.-30 minutes away to get lots of snow and most of the mountains surrounding Las vegas. Have fun when you do get it.

  4. We've been listening all afternoon to the reports on the terrible storm in the midwest -- wondering if we'll have one next week when we too will be in the midwest.

How beautiful that Dakota ornament is. We know you'll have a bittersweet Christmas without her physical presence -- but then she will always be right there with you in your hearts.

  6. I've learned not to pay any attention to the weather morons. Look out the window. There's your weather.

The ornament is very pretty. You need a real one like that for your tree!

  7. It was a lovely tribute to Dakota (and others) and I saw me there too, on another day. Very exciting!

I hope you get snow soon. Surely you will. You must.

  9. Absolutely beautiful tribute to Dakota. Losing one is so hard but the memories are great to keep. I lost a dog 3 years ago and I made a scrapbook for him.

It just said on the news that everyone in the midwest was getting snow!! We are getting sleet as usual. That's just not fun! I hope you get your snow for the guys to play in!

  17. Maybe when you go to sleep tonight you can snooze off thinking Snow, Snow, Snow, and then when you wake up, your yard will be full!

Dakota's ornament really is just beautiful, just like she was.

  18. Our first Christmas without Pooh Bear, in 2007, was rough, too; she had been there for every Christmas since we got married. *sniff*

  19. I can tell you where the snow is - it's here! And the cold is too. It's -10 deg right now. Woo - too cold!

I love the tribute to Dakota. We too are facing our first Christmas without one of our beloved dogs, S, a yellow lab who lost his cancer battle in late May. It's hard but my resounding memory is how much love he brought into our lives. It sounds like you feel similarly about Dakota.

  20. What?!? You're not getting a blizzard like the rest of the midwest? Is there just a pocket of no snow over your house? We have to get to the bottom of this!

As for your snow, maybe it just stopped in Manhattan and will be heading east soon!

  41. it is crazy insane that we got snow before y'all did. How pretty that ornament is. Mom was thinking how many DWBers lost this year. She thinks it seems like it had to be one of the most brutal of all years in numbers. (Of course the fact we lost gramma may affect her feeling that way, but seriously so many of our "kids" as well as several folks in 09 just, scuse our expression sucked) Mom says she will never miss another New Years Day of having Black eyed peas again!)
Can we just put you up on our sidebar. Mom doesn't do so well with the reader thing.
    Hugs
