There's a New Star in Heaven tonight.

It is with great sadness that we are here to tell you about the passing of another wonderful pup.

This is Kyrye. She is one of Khyra's sisters and she turned 15 years old in October.

She had been slowing down, and over the past few days she took a bad turn and let her humans know that she was ready to go.

Khyra and her Mom got to spend some special time with her over the weekend. This morning they said their good-byes.

There have been so many very sad losses of our beloved pets this year. Khyra and her mom Phyll are always there for everyone. They offer selfless and unlimited love and support to all. We hold them dearly in our hearts for the loving care and concern they gave to us when we lost Dakota and for the daily joy of friendship that we share. Now it is time to extend our love, friendship, support, and good thoughts to them. Please do stop by Khyra's Khorner and leave a word of love.

When our Princess crossed the bridge, Khyra gave her a wonderful tribute and included a very special song written in honor of Princess Di. Kyrye shares her birthday with Phyll's sister Di and so we thought that very same song was most fitting today for this Princess Kyrye. We have included the lyrics here, we are sure you all are familiar with the tune. Take a moment tonight, light a candle for Kyrye and all of the other precious ones with her, and watch the skies for that new star tonight.

There's a New Star in Heaven tonight.

Shadows darken and the day is done
And I cannot believe that it's true and you are gone
You were always here beside me
You gave so much as the Queen of Hearts
To those without love
You were their voice when they could not speak
A touch for the dying

And as we say goodbye I can hardly see
For the tears in my eyes
You are shining like a million suns
And there's a new star up in Heaven tonight

I wonder if you ever knew
How much you were loved
And in the darkness of a lonely room
Were you empty inside?
As you fade away it's like a light
Has gone from the world
But I am sure that there is a place
Where it will burn on forever

And as we say goodbye I can hardly see
For the tears in my eyes
You are shining like a million suns
And there's a new star up in Heaven tonight

And there's a new star up in Heaven tonight

Do give your furbabies and humans some hugs and kisses and tell them how much you love them.

Hugs and Woos, Phantom, Thunder, and Kathie

  9. This was a lovely tribute, and we are sure it meant a lot to Khyra and her moma. We had seen their post last night, and have been thinking of them as the hours have passed. Your lovely words brought it all home. With tears. And sadness. But no regrets. Each moment we have with our furries is a gift, and though the time together is always so short, there is nothing more special. It's because of the love they so freely give that we hurt so much. Your tribute expressed it beautifully.

    Love,
Jake and Fergi and Molly and Kizzy's Moma

  33. I worry about Chloe's health. She's only six and has had several health issues. This is a sad time your friends, we will keep them in our thoughts. The fireplace mantel looks lovely. If we didn't have two cats that ate plants I would have a Chritmas cactus again. Yesterday I stopped at the pet store and a lady was there with her two year old sibe. He had long black outer hairs with a white undercoat and light (almost white) blue eyes. Gosh that dog was long! Usually I connect with dog people right away, but not her. She was fitting him with a muzzle because his brother is in town and they are keeping them separated. He had to go potty and she kept telling him to wait and he would have to go at home. Everytime she pushed his back to the floor to sit, he stood up again and arched over REALLY having to go. I thought to myself, why the heck doesn't she take him outside and then finish her shopping? There was grass out there for the dogs. I hope he didn't poo in her car because she wasn't real bright.

  39. We didn't get a chance to know Kyrye but we are sad to hear of her passing and already visited Khyra and told her so. Every time we hear about a doggy crossing the bridge, mom gets all teary thinking of the day we will do the same. Our time on Earth is so short, no day should be wasted.
