Tuesday's Tale of the Tail

How a puppy can be easily amused!

If you listen very carefully during the video, you might be able to figure out what else we were doing while the pupster was being the cracker pup.

Thanks to everyone for the many suggestions you gave yesterday for Ciara. Mom was very happy to see that there is even more progress today. She increased the amount of grain free kibble and the amount of pumpkin in her feedings. We are holding off on the rice because we want to see if she does OK with the grain free, and we don't want to make too many changes at one time. We had tried yogurt earlier but didn't really see any change. And yes, she has been on metronidazole too. The numerous antibiotics she had could also have had an effect on everything. Right now she is only getting Ty Lan, which is a wide spectrum antibiotic. If things continue to firm up, we will be stopping that soon too. The good news is that she has never really acted sick at all. Thanks again to all.

  3. Wow, she was telling her tail off but good! She is a beautiful baby and looks super soft.

As for the poop issue, I have 2 pups that have IBS issues. I have been using this product called Coco Therapy which is basically straight up coconut meat. They LOVE it and it has a lot of fiber which has been helping the poop issue. Might give it a try, we highly recommend.

  5. We are happy to read that Ciara's poop is getting better. We know from experience, that's a hard "condition" to deal with. It seems that her diet may, just may, be the answer. (Unfortunately, for us, for me, anyway, the trigger is ... ummmm ... getting a little too happy and a little too excited ... but ... luckily that is gradually getting better and better.)

That video was priceless and the pictures of Ciara and showing her to be turning into a gorgeous lady. Wow! She's gonna turn some heads!

Those Safari toys are perfect for you! We can just imagine your fun, and we know Hootie and BRD must be pleased to see you enjoying them!

    Happy week!

  10. Very adorable video!! Ciara really is after that tail! I'm glad the poop is hopefully getting better. I know it can be a very "trying" issue to deal with..I've had two dogs with the problem. Was that a microwave beeping in the background! Phantom and Thunder look very relaxed and are probably laughing at Ciara chasing her tail! Lots of love, Debbie and Holly

  16. Gotta' teach those pesky tails a lesson or else they'll keep tagging along and making trouble.

We're great believers in pumpkin for those embarrassing problems. Hope it helps. But Ciara's problem could easily be from all the -- as Lacie would say -- AUNTIE BYE OTTER TICKS.

    Wirey love,

  17. BOL! She's so cute. Mom say I did the same thing (just imagine a very round little black thing just reaching his little curly tail) - and Virus did too. He would chase his tail until he fell over from dizziness. Hyssy hasn't though. At least one of us is sensible I guess..

    Kisses,
    Bajas

  23. Wait a minute. Ciara was in puppyhood and the microwave was running and the TV was on - WHILE Miss Khyra was on Youtube? We thought MFT would come haunt you if you disrespected her like that.

  24. At least it is HER tail for a change, right?

I heard Khyra's DOH in the background.

  26. Crappy news never sounded so good! ;)
In all seriousness (as much as that state pains me) I'm really glad she's coming around. They need those nutrients to stick when they are little ones...

  27. Puppies are just not that smart. I mean, let's face it. Us olds are brilliant and those puppies are kind of, well, dumb. But one day, puppies will get to grow up to be super duper smart and beautiful beasties just like me.

  29. Great, so you see some improvement already! Wow. As for the video and the other video of somebody's mother walking her...very funny. What cracked me up the most was the way Ciara falls with a thud on the floor. Glad to hear your family's fine. Luckily there were no injuries. The last hour we've been having tons of aftershocks and pretty soon we'll get used to it again. :)

  37. Hi pups,

That video is CUTE!! Our mom idolizes Ciara.. she is madly head over heels in love with your little sister!!

We just read about Ciara's poop-y problem and glad that there's improvements. When we first had Hershey over a year ago, she had a case of diarrhea for a really long time. Took her to the vet countless times and spent heaps of money, and at the end of the day, one of the vets recommended to mom to feed Hershey plain yoghurt on a daily basis. Something about acidophilus and how it is good for the intestines. So we have been feeding her yoghurt daily and **knock on wood** so far, so good!! (we probably jinxed it now.. LOL)
