Phantom's new Furiend on Friday

Some of you may remember this photo from our post here when Dakota was still with us.

What WERE we all staring at?

Mom has been walking us in shifts since she hurt her back in March. We are finally able to go for short walks, but now she takes Phantom first, and then she comes back for Ciara and Thunder. While she was out with Phantom the other day, Phantom heard some familiar but funny sounds. He convinced Mom to cross the big busy street so he could get a better look.

"Mom, I think we need to go a little closer. There is one of those creatures right there, but I think I can see another one just a bit further down the road who might be closer to the fence."

"No, that's the same one. Keep going, please."

"Yeah, look at that one! Can we get a little closer?"

"Hey there, what are you eating? Wait until the
Herd sees you. Do you think you might like to do some zoomies with me?"

This is the closest the mini-donkeys have ever let us come to them. They usually run to the back of their lot when they see us coming. Mom wouldn't let Phantom get any closer because she wasn't quite sure what would happen if Phantom and the donkey came nose-to-nose. Thunder and Ciara are hoping to get the Momster to take them to meet the mini-donkeys too. Hope you enjoyed meeting Phantom's new furiend.

  2. Phantom's like "dude, PLEASE come over my house, and DO something with this new pest they call Ciara...she's totally interrupting my beauty sleep all the time..."

  3. What cool new friends you have Phantom and well done for being quiet and getting close.
We have a new little foal at the riding stables we walk past - mum tries to get his pic but has not been able to get close enough yet because of us.
She does not want the foal or his mum to get frightened.
You must be a nice calm dog - you would never have got that close with Ciara!

  17. The mini-donkey is so cute. I guess you had the right smells to lure him over.

As for walking dogs separately -- just ask our mom. We get so rambunctious when we see another dog if we're together, that she walks each of us separately. That's six walkies a day. Dogdad is much stronger so he takes us together and even he sometimes gets tied up in crossed leashes!

  19. We went the other day to see a herd of mini-donkeys a few miles from here. I love to see them all in the field together. I'd love to have one, but don't know how they'd mix with my pack of crazy dogs.

  20. Oh, the mini donkey is so cute. Touching noses through the fence should be fine. Donkeys and Horses are usually OK with dogs as long as the dogs don't jump up on them. ~AFSS

  60. Mini donkeys!! What fun. Mommy loves mini horses and donkeys. There is a farm in the country that has lots of them and when Samantha was little Mommy would take her to play with them. She sid it was so cute to see her and the mini's play together. I don't ever get to do exciting stuff like that.
