Wednesday Woos

Ciara here, reporting that we are finally back.

We had to spend a few days at Camp Kennel while the Momster and Dadster spent some time in California visiting our human brother and family. It wasn't so bad because all the workers at the kennel are crazy about us and give us lots of loving. But we do get very tired as we keep waiting for our ride home to arrive. Today Thunder and Phantom had baths and were really beat after that ordeal. I couldn't get a bath; you'll see why in a bit.

I found Phantom doing a lot of this:

And Thunder totally wiped out doing this:

I, Ciara, am left to share with you what happened to me on my first adventure away from home. I am still not sure it was such a good one.

Look at my leg - what happened to my furs?

And then take a good look at this:

My tummy is naked!!! I really don't remember much about what happened but Mom told me that now I won't be able to have any babies.

As soon as I got home, I retreated to one of the empty crates to contemplate what this might mean. I am still a little confused, but I have a plan.

I gathered up a few of my favorite babies and sat guarding them and singing to them. There is no way I am giving up these babies no matter what the Momster said.

There is a very strange looking gizmo that came home with me. Mom says it is a cone, but it sure doesn't look like the cone the little ones get with their ice cream. Then she said I might have to wear it if I lick my tummy. I think I saw one on Boomer and Lucky - and I don't think they like it too much.

So do you think I should listen to Mom?

So far being good seems to be working - I seem to be scoring lots of treats.

Whew, all this updating of the blog is hard work. Maybe it is time for me to join my brothers in some naptime.

Dear readers, don't believe a word she is saying - she is so milking the Momster. It is enough to make a pup think the threat of a cone isn't such a bad idea. Actually I don't think Mom can resist this face for long:)

Woos - Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara

Pee Ess: We are way behind on reading what's been happening with all of you. We are trying to catch up but we may have to do the "mark all as read" thingie. You all were pretty busy while we were away.

  1. I had a feeling you would haves your isides ripped away at your hotel stay. Mum had me done on the exact 6 mom mark...she said no way in heck was she gonna let me bring in more Puddles babies...said no one in their right mind would want 'em if they was anything like me....hehehehe! Soooooooo, I will be furever puppyless just like you. But you seem to have already picked up on your mothering instincts.

I am so glad ya'll is aaaaall back, I missed ya'll so dearly.

  6. Hi All! We are glad you are back - we are sure you had fun!

And Ciara we are super proud of you for having the no-baby surgery - that is awesome! And don't worry - all your stuffie babies will stay with you, they aren't the kind of babies they mean! Our baby sister Stella will have to have that same surgery soon, but the kitty version - it is something all good animals do!

  7. Oh Ciara, we can completely relate. Hopefully you can be good. We can't. I am a master stitch ripper outter. So I have to be coned. I think it's great that you have gathered all the babies to watch over.

Hope you are back to your fuzzy bellied self soon!

  11. Ciara and pack...

Well, that was some adventure you had! No doubt about it, but probably not something you want to do again, huh?

We know you will be a goog mom to your stuffie babies. And at least you don't have to save for college.

  12. It doesn't look like too bad of an adventure to me. I had a surgery like yours, and I don't miss not being able to have puppies one little bit! I mean, Lilac had two litters of puppies and now she's always the fun police.

Mom says if you do have to wear something, you might like the Bite Not Collar better than that cone. Hopefully you won't need one at all!

    Bunny

  13. Whatever you do Ciara, listen to your Mom and do not lick!!! We had to wear ours after the boy version of your .... ahem... procedure and it was the worst thing ever, walking into doors, walls, funiture, people and not being able to lay down comfortably. Yuck.

    Please listen to your MOM.

  16. Hang on to those babies, Ciara!

And take it from me, Mr. Recently-Conehead, do whatever it takes to avoid having one put on you, although #1 says she has ordered something called a "BiteNot" collar for next time.....

  17. Well, that was kind of a rotten trick somebody played on you. It's only fair you get extra treats... lots and lots of extra treats.

  20. Hi everybuddy! I'm glad you had a good time at camp whiles your mom and dad were away. Well, except for your ordeal, Ciara. But take it from me - as somebuddy who has had at least one litter of puppies before I gots rescued - you're WAY better off stayin' outta the baby making biz. I was ever so relieved when I was out of it for good!

  22. Hi Ciara,Phantom and Thunder - welcome back! I've missed you guys! Yes, I've been busy - in fact, I've been away myself for my first holiday in Australia with my humans - we went to Byron Bay and not only did I nearly have to face the Scary Upside-Down Food Bowl Monster - but I also nearly got eaten by a shark! (that's after my human tried to make me into a doggie sandcastle...) - whew! It's a miracle I've come back in one piece - ha! ha!

Ciara - I had the Operation like you when I was 6 months! And I DID have to wear that yucky cone collar - but that's because I was a naughty pup and wouldn't stay quiet for the 1 week like my vet told me to - I started running and jumping around - and I burst my stitches! So had to go back to the vet to have them redone and then ANOTHER week's quiet & rest - humph! The cone collar wasn't to stop me licking my tummy (I wasn't doing that anyway) but when I was wearing it, I got so scared of banging into things and getting stuck in doorways (OK, mine was XXXXL size - it was practically a satellite dish!) - that I walked very slowly and carefully everywhere...! :-)

I had to laugh at that picture of you guarding your "babies"! :-) Anyway, I hope your fur grows back soon!

    Honey the Great Dane

Lots of love, Holly and mom

  28. Oh Ciara, I think that you should get all the treats you want! The heck with what the boys say. I had my surgery a year ago and I was a good girl and no licking!

Don't worry about your Mom taking away your stuffies, she won't as a matter of fact you will probable get MORE Stuffies!

    Hugs, Tessa

  29. Was something wrong with you? That you needed "fixing?" Oh well, you can milk it for sympathy for weeks. Just don't get caught running and playing or the humans stop believing you.

P.S. - Nice Reverse Poodle Hair cut on the leg.

  30. It looks like the boys are most happy and content to be back home!
Be an especially good girl, Ciara, and that cone will stay sitting on the floor! You don't want that nasty thing around you neck so listen to your mom, okay?

  54. What pawsome pictures! We understand why Thunder and Phantom were so tired after their stay in Camp Kennel. When we come back from our visits to camp, we snooze for two or three days. Camp is tiring -- all that jumping and barking and card playing and midnight movies!!!

And sweet Ciara -- we hope she's doing fine. What a beautiful young lady she is!!

    Wirey love,

    Jake and Just Harry

And thank you for your kind thoughts about our Dogdad!!

  55. You have the best kind of babies, Ciara. Your babies don't eat all the time and poop in the house. They don't make noise at night and they stay where you put them. Samba can tell you all about the other kind.

None of my girls had to wear the cone after their operations, but I did cheat and give them each a little pill to keep them sleepy.

  56. Welcome back! Beautiful babies! Great pics! And Camp Kennel can take a lot out of Sibe! We agree with Mr Koda MD, stuffie babies are way more fun...until they are shredded all over the house! Speedy recuperation to you!

Hope your belly heals soon, Ciara, and that you don't have to use the cone. It doesn't look like it would be comfy and it isn't exactly fashionable.

You may not be able to have any dog babies but you got the best kind! They won't steal your food or attention from Mom and Dad.
