Friday's Finishing Touches

We have a few things that have been on the list for a while now and it is time to get things wrapped up.

First, some awards. Two more of our blogger friends have shared the Versatile Blogger awards with us.

Sprinkles, Arwen and Nyxie and their Mom were kind enough to share these two beautiful awards with us. We have received them a few times now, but we still love getting them again. We posted about ourselves just a short time ago so we think we can skip that part this time. Thanks, pals - that was so very nice of you to think of us for the sharing of the awards.

We have also been very remiss in posting about our Paw It Forward. Martha and Bailey, those two beautiful Bassett girls from across the big pond, recently sponsored a PIF opportunity. We accepted the challenge and we were very grateful to Martha and Bailey for making a generous contribution to one of our favorite rescues, The Last Resort, where wonderful things can happen for the less fortunate. For our PIF, we would like to make another contribution to the fund to help Shelby. You can read all about Shelby at The Pittie Pack's blog. JD and Max are also hosting an auction to benefit Shelby. Be sure to check that out too.

We would love to have three of our readers take on the PIF challenge, but we understand that times are tough. If you would like to play along, please tell us in your comment. It will give you a really good feeling to be able to share with others.

In her recent Dear Twinkie post, Twinkie gave us a recipe to test on Phantom. The ingredients include chicken livers, corn meal, flour, and some tasty spices, like sage, thyme, and oregano. The Momster may not have done the recipe exactly as it was written, but here is the result:

And then this:

The recipe was easy and quick. AND yummy delicious!!!

We all agree that the chicken liver recipe is really good. Mom, can we please have some NOW?

Phantom went from THIS:

To THIS:

Paws up for a super recommendation, Twinkie.

  5. Hi all,
Bambi could not have that tasty meal. She is allergic to wheat and or corn. Nobody told us that. That came from felling her Lypoma's for days and days. I could tell by them when she ate something that had wheat in it . the Lypoma's would get larger. They would get larger when she ate something that had corn in it. When I put her on the no wheat or corn diet they started to go down. Everyday that she did not eat wheat or corn they got smaller and smaller. Most of them are gone with 2 and a half months of no wheat or corn in her diet!!! the vet just says "I never have seen that before".

  37. OMG! Twinkie is my god-doghter and I gave her that recipe! It was given to me by my brother-in-law... a long time dog trainer / handler and expert.

    I'm SO happy.

We crumble them into 1" pieces and store in the freezer. I pop them into the microwave as needed and crumble them over food to encourage finicky eaters.

This post brings me great joy!
