Last Update for Today

We've been waiting all afternoon for Phantom to come home.

But the vet wants him to stay overnight. He had some bleeding this afternoon from his incision and they want to keep an eye on it. Most likely Mom will be able to pick him up in the morning. We are all disappointed but it is better for him to be where he can get the best care.

Woos ~ Thunder, Ciara and Mom

If you missed the first update, you can read it in our earlier post today.

  3. They probably know that mom and dad seeing even a little blood would make them feel bad, so it's good that Phantom stays for the night. It's scary for mom and dad to see him this way.

  15. Ciara and Thunder, I gotta tell you that this staying over night is MUCH worse for You Two than it is for Phantom. If he was home... he would be trying to move around and make YOU feel better... This way he will do nothing butt REST.
I KNOW he will be home tomorrow. I won't be able to do blogs for a few days... Soooooo will you please... give each other some nice sniffs and snuggles for me. I'll come back as soon as I can. Take care of yourselves ... and the big guy.. when he gets home tomorrow.

  16. Thunder and Ciara sure look sad that their brother did not come home today! I hope beautiful Phantom can leave the vet tomorrow.

I know he will have so much TLC when he gets home that he will recover from the surgery in no time :-)

  17. Oh, I'm sorry to hear that Phantom can't come home yet but I agree - it is best to stay where he will get the necessary care for his condition! I am thinking of him and sending lots of healing slobbers - and hope he will be back home with you all soon.

we are glad that the surgery went well, but sad that Phantom could not come home to spend the night with y'all.

We know that you will take good care of him when he comes back tomorrow, and we think it is really sweet to give up some furs for his owie.

  22. We just saw both updates now - we are sending lots of Purrs and prayers for Phantom. We are glad the surgery went ok, and we think it is a good thing he is staying at the vets if he was bleeding a little, because they can keep a good eye on him. And also it is probably a lot more likely he will get some good rest without having all the activity from the rest of you (not that you would be doing it to be mean or anything - it is the same way here when the kitties are sick - they get a better rest at the vets at first). This way when Phantom comes home tomorrow he will be feeling better and hopefully won't have any more bleeding. We are crossing our paws and fingers that he heals up very quickly!!

  23. we're happy that Phantom came through his surgery okay, but we know everyone will feel more relieved when he is at home where he belongs. our pack is never quite right when one of us is absent & we bet it is the same way with you too.

  26. What a disappointment! I realize in the long run it's probably for the best and that he'll be getting more rest this way but I also know that you just want him home with you.

Hope you can get him first thing in the morning and that he'll heal up nicely.

Thunder and Ciara look lonely without him.

  33. I'm so glad Phantom's surgery went well!!

It will be best for Phantom to be under the hospital's watch on the first night. Then you will know he's getting very careful attention all night long. Be patient...your brother will be home soon ;)

  34. I'm happy to hear that the surgery went well. He is in good hands tonight and will be feeling more like himself tomorrow after the anesthesia wears off. It will probably be easier on all of you for him to wait til tomorrow to come home. Mom says it is hard for her to see me on the day I've been under. I'd guess that OP mom would have been up most of the night checking on him anyway......
I am keeping my paws crossed for a great path report and MOm is sending lots of hugs.
