Storms Update

It has been a wild morning here in the Kansas City area. Sirens started going off at 11:00 a.m., timed perfectly with the normal test period, but this was no test.

Phantom was hunkered down in his shelter.

We have had multiple touchdowns in our area for the past two hours from at least three different tornadoes. Two were no more than a couple of miles from our home. Mom had to head to the twins' school and ended up in the hallway there for almost an hour. She wanted to be with the twins, but they were in a different part of the school. All the bipeds were trying to reach each other to be sure everyone was safe, but the phone lines were jammed or the cell towers were not working right. Mom ended up having to call our human brother in California to see if he could text or email or call all the other family members to let them know where she was and to find out where they were. Somehow she was able to reach him. Over the course of the next hour, all the bipeds managed to check in except for our Dad. He was at the airport boarding a plane to Minneapolis. His plane has departed so we have to assume he was on it.

We don't think there was much damage right near us, but a tornado has caused some damage in Sedalia for sure. We still have a lot of "iffy" weather around us, but we think we will be OK. The tornadoes are still active in parts of Missouri right now as we are pawing this post. We hope everyone will stay safe.

Now be sure to check our cheerier post below from earlier today.

  15. We're glad you all are okay. Our mommy has been frantic with worry with the storms and has been keeping an eye on where they are in relation to you, the Army of Four in Manhattan and of course our Grandpa and family in and around Topeka. We have been sending many purrayers that everyone remains okay and we are especially thinking of those in Joplin and other areas hit by the tornadoes.
