Magical Monday

At least it is magical for us, we are HOME!!! Finally!!! And we are all very happy and very tired!!!

And where are we? Yep, we are in the no-sibe zone, the barricade is down. The roofers haven't started yet, maybe tomorrow. The weather has not been very cooperative. But once they start, we will have very limited access to our yard - too much flying debris and nails and staples for it to be safe for us outside.

We spent today in the spa and got all that dead winter fur washed and blown away. We feel so soft and clean now.

Ciara and Thunder did very well at their home away from home. They got lots and lots of attention and hugs and treats and extra playtime. But poor Phantom, he did not fare so well. He ate just about nothing from Tuesday night until Saturday afternoon. The vet helpers tried everything, even going to the deli for some turkey and Sonic for a burger. Finally Mom had one of our human sisters cook some pasta with some parmesan cheese sprinkled on it and bring it to the vet's place. He finally ate a bit of that. Then Sunday they got him to eat a bit of his kibble by handfeeding him. Today he didn't eat again. Why? Well, first of all, he probably was unhappy about being away from home. But the biggest problem was the weather. Every single day or night that we were there, we had very loud thunderstorms with strong winds and hail. Mom is sure he was very upset by that. The weather is still a problem and we will likely be under a tornado watch soon. But at least he is home and will hopefully feel better. He ate a little meat for Mom tonight and is now hunkered down in his bunker crate. Paws crossed the weather and Phantom get better.

We are way behind with the blogs and will do our best to catch up. We may just have to limit our time to reading without comments. Hope you all understand.

Woos ~ Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara

  1. Oh you all look so pretty and clean. Mom was going to bathe us today, but her day got away from her... Has Phantom tried Sea Jerky? It's really just chicken jerky but it's got lots of good stuff in it like glucocimine. It's what they gave me during my acupuncture to 'distract' me. We'd be happy to pick some up for Phantom next time I go to the special vet -- probably next Monday. We all LOVE it...

  6. The weather has been awful. After we fell asleep the other night, Bailey started barking and when Mom woke up she heard the tornado sirens. We all went into the basement and turned on the tv and watched the storms for a couple hours till it was safe to go back to bed. Poor Mom hasn't had a good night's sleep in days. She's grumpy!

ps - Tsar refused to eat tonight, so maybe another storm?

  12. Ohhhh, poor Phantom. I'm sure your Mom is finding all kinds of good stuff for you to eat now that you're home. I just hope all that banging and hammering won't be too scary. Our Maggie was VERY sensitive to stuff like thunder storms, so I know how scary it can be.

Live it up in the no-sibe zone. You won't get too many chances!!

  18. Poor Phantom! I sure understand what he is going through. Samuel is very afraid of the thunder and bad weather and doesn't like to eat either. And, we have had a lot of storms lately!

We sure hope the weather calms down and Phantom can get his appetite back.

  19. I'm glad Ciara and Thunder enjoyed their vacation at least =]

Hopefully you can get Phantom to eat something soon. Luckily (maybe?) Snickers is a bit of a pig and never turns down anything he can eat...Have you tried canned green tripe? To people, it smells and looks nasty - but I've never seen a dog turn it down. It might just do the trick =]

  24. You all look so nice and clean! I was just looking at the chi's the other day and thinking they could really use a bath. I have a long list of stuff I need to do, I'll have to add that to it.

I'm so sorry Phantom isn't eating. I know how worrisome that must be. Hopefully now that he's home, he'll be able to settle down again.

  25. So glad to have you back even with limited backyard access...

Poor Phantom! I wish I could make him a hot dog, peanut butter, cream cheese, roast beef and egg stew that he'd gobble up and get fat! Many good thoughts for a better appetite. Have you tried the Thunder Shirt on him? We've had some success from our clients who've bought them.

The kiddos look lovely! Nyxie had a good bath and both girls were brushed out this weekend (again). I will email you soon!

  28. You all look lovely! That spa treatment was great for you!

Maybe Phantom needs to try a Thundershirt. Dad put Lilac's on early this morning because she was unhappy about the weather and it worked like magic! We were all very impressed by how much it helped her.

  29. We are glad you are home and hope that the weather gets a little nicer or at least less threatening. Poor Phantom! Quinn totally understand getting upset about being away from home and changing the routine so much...and I know about the thunderstorm fear. White Dog positive energy that you will have calm blue skies and not too much roofing disruption. Sibes in The No Sibe Zone make it a Sibe Zone, right? Momma said this is like a logic question in math.

  30. OMG. PHANTOM! If you don't eat this very minute, I'm gonna come over there myself and feed you some Swiss ROSTI... OMG, i'd bet you'd like that! fried potatoes, eggs and some sort of greesy sausage. yuck. but just like a doggie likes it.

please eat... please! and the thunder storms? phoey on them. they're just all bark and no bite.

  31. Don't you all look so fluffy and pretty?? I would love to fun my fingers through all that soft fluffy fur! Sorry Phantom took the time from home so hard, we have our paws crossed that he is feeling better real soon.

  34. I'm glad that you had fun away from home but I hope that Phantom starts feeling better soon. Those darn storms - what terrible timing. Being home with you will hopefully calm your boy down.

BTW, we are heading out of town for a while but can't announce it ahead of time on my blog. So, please don't worry when my site goes silent.

  35. We're very glad that you are all home again and hopefully Phantom will start feeling much better soon! Very worrying for your Mom and the weather reports don't sound promising either.

  42. Gosh, poor Phantom. I feel for him over the weather and being in a strange place. I've been known to be a super picky eater myself. I bet he had the vet peoples about to freak out. Ha.

  43. Oh no, poor Phantom. We hope he starts to feel better soon now that he is home.

Also, there should be no such thing as a no-Sibe zone, although I guess we have one room that is a no Sibe zone because it is Wilbur's room.

  46. My dear Phantom,
you love to stay home... that is the only thing, isn't it?
I am like that.. when my humans leave me at my breeder's I eat the minimum possible... I am all bones when they are back...
I am afraid of tornados, stay all next to eachother, it will pass soon!
    Good luck!!!

  51. That Phantom is just so sensitive! You know, we swear by chicken liver brownies to get finicky dogs to eat. But, we've had one that was terrified of thunder too. That can really stress some of them out!

Hope all gets back to normal ASAP!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Look at you guys! You look so clean and fluffy, but poor Phantom! Not eating is very upsetting to both your tummy and your mommy. I know I'm a really finicky eater too and my mommy hand feeds me just about every day or else I can go without eating for three days and then I start to upchuck yellow foam and that's yuky! But I'm a little ole, spoiled rotten guy. Hope you'll be feeling better real soon and hope you won't have to go through a Tornado - that is scary!

Your friend, Gizzy and his mommy.

    Hugs to you all ;-)

  53. Thunder, you need to find that appetite and stop worrying your pack mother. :)

Let's hope the weather breaks for you soon - you don't need the complication.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Welcome home (though we certainly have our paws crossed for Phantom to suddenly decide that a buffet of food would be a perfect idea).

    ReplyDelete
  55. The 3 of you look so happy to be home. We are so sorry Phantom still isn't eating right. I'm still terrified of thunder and lightingfrom when I was a little girl dodging traffic in that Thunderstorm. I know exactly how he feels. It hasn't rained here in forever so we could use the rain but not the thunder and nasty lightning.

  57. We are so glad you are happy to be home! YAY!! Poor Phantom...it is not nice at all to be scared when you're away from your home. LadyBug gets scared with thunder lately...this is something rather new...she didn't used to be bothered by it. You all look so nice and shiny and I bet you feel all spiffy now! Hope you all have some fun today!! xoxo Chloe and LadyBug
