What have we here? Our driveway has been invaded by some strange stuff.
Yep, we are getting a new roof. A big hailstorm did enough damage to our wood shakes in April that the insurance company said we can get a new one. How lucky could we be since we were going to be needing a new one very soon! Mom is thrilled because we can now get a composite roof instead of those wood shakes - and that means so long to the silly silverfish.
Work should begin in a week. We are going to let you in on a secret. We heard the Dad and the Mom talking about that "no-sibe barricade" that the Momster put up in May. It has to come down while the roofers are working - and that means WE (that would be TD and Ciara) will once again be able to explore those beds for bunnies. We can't wait.
Woos ~ Thunder and Ciara
New roof, lots of upcoming activity with workmen AND the barrier coming down. Looks like fun times ahead, guys.
ReplyDeleteXXXOOO Daisy, kendra & Bella
A new roof sounds very exciting. I'm glad that you won't get anymore silver fish. They are funny things to watch though. I wonder if they taste nice. Are you going to make friends with the bunnies :)xx
ReplyDeleteA new roof AND no barricades?!?? We need a full report as soon as you can compile one!!
ReplyDelete-Gizmo, Bart and Ruby
That's exciting! Keep us posted!

A lot of roofs we're destroyed here by hailstorms too. One day we had hail bigger than golf balls.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your bunny chasing while you can.
Love Ruby & Penny
And don't forget that bunnies live in holes so you might need to do a bit digging to make sure you find them all. How cool you are getting a new roof.
ReplyDeleteHi Op Pack,
ReplyDeleteI want to thank-you so much for coming to my blog and saying kind words to me when I lost Bambi. It has been such a hard thing on me. She was fine and then in just a day she wasn't. People are saying it was her time and they and you were so right. I wish it not be so but I couldn't do anything to keep her here.
I will celebrate her life with me for a long while!!
Thanks, Fern
Hmmm...let us know if you need help with Bunny Patrol. And we have found that guys who do construction seem to like dogs a lot, and sometimes will share lunch.

May the roofing take a long time so you can enjoy the bunny hunting! It sounds like everyone will be happy for a while, except the rabbits!

ReplyDeleteA brand new woof! Dat's exciting. And even better is da no sibe zone is coming apart. Look out bunnies, here we go!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lot of work! Take care!
ReplyDeleteOH,,,the noise. The roof, roofers and the barking below. That's how I'm picturing it if that were happening to us. Of course, you get the prize of having a new roof and they get to check out the flower bed!! At least there is a bright side.
ReplyDeleteOh no Phantom, the first thing I thought of is you! They will probably be using nailguns and making very loud noises with those nailguns. I know you would be very terrified. I was very terrified when our roof was done. Mom actually had to take me out of the house to go to work wif her.
ReplyDeleteJune
How exciting on the new roof! It'll be fun watching those workers and especially exploring for bunnies! Make sure those roofers keep their nails out of the bunny bed! Phantom, we hope you'll be okay with all that noise.
ReplyDeleteWatch out, Phantom, we got a new roof last year and those guys make a LOT of noise. Some of us had to hide in the basement till they were done.
ReplyDeleteMorgan, Tsar and the Porties
Woo Hoo! Nothing but good news!!!
ReplyDeleteWoofs,
Tommy
sometimes those hail balls can knock you for a loop!

we really appreciated getting rid of our wood shake roof too!
our insurance rates even went down because of the reduced fire danger!
how wonderful that the pawrents new roof gets the doggies more chances for adventures too!
we cannot wait to hear all about them!
Our Mom hates shakes - so she knows how happy your Momster must be to get the new composite roof!!

Looking forward to photos of the Great Sibe Roofing-Snoopervisor-Bunny-Find of 2011!
ReplyDeleteI knew the barricade wouldn't last too long :)
ReplyDeleteCheck out our place to pick up your inspiring blog award!!
ReplyDeleteAROOOOF!
Boondocks and Kudzu
A new roof sounds like a VERY good thing, although the WDA would not like all those workmen around and on the roof! Glad to hear the you will at least be able to go a bunny safari to keep yourselves occupied!
ReplyDeleteDo you guys have to guard that stuff on the driveway until next week?
Congratulations! It's nice when you feel like you can finally justify that insurance payment :)
ReplyDeleteSo we share the same last name! (maiden for you)
This is pretty cool - maybe somehow we are related if we go back far enough. My Dad's family was from Boston and before that from County Sligo and County Cork (I think) in Ireland...
That was actually very lucky for your mom!

Thunder & Ciara, we wishes you would come take care of the beaver that is eating all our flowers. It got the purple wisteria, the white wisteria, the vitex and the Japanese Magnolia. We are very sad :>(
ReplyDeleteUh, oh. All that banging and hammering, but getting past the barricade should make up for it!
ReplyDeleteYou are going to have lots of fun with all the noise coming from the roof!
ReplyDeleteLet us know if you find bunnies on the beds, ok?
Kisses and hugs
Lorenza
Ohhh all those mens making lots of noise on the roof. Well, at least you will all be occupied in the garden looking for bunnies!
ReplyDeletewoos, Tessa
Ohhhhhhhh - now that is all such exciting news and we are woofing ALL is big newses!!! (We're talkin' the no-sibe barricade biz heheh!)

Sammie, Ava and Oz
That is exciting stuff! New roof, new flower beds to explore..Roof Roof..we mean woof woof!
ReplyDeleteWyatt and Stanzie
I'm sorry you have to get a new roof but I'm glad that insurance is going to cover it.
ReplyDeleteThat's one of my fears, worrying about something happening to the house and not knowing what to do to take care of it. Hopefully I won't have to worry about the roof for awhile. I remember when I bought it, the lender required a roof inspection and the inspector dude said it'd be good for at least the 10 years the lender required. Only been here 8 years so I'm good to go for another 2, at least! Hopefully, anyways!
If all that stuff was in my driveway, Chico would pee on it. He thinks he has to mark everything.
Wow, it's all action at your place! We're looking forward to the new roof, and wish you tonnes of bunnies :-)
ReplyDeleteThere sure is gonna be LOTS of banging going on around there!! Have fun playing...um we mean exploring those beds!!
ReplyDeleteWoofs and Kisses!
The Fiesty Three
We saw a bunny on our run on Saturday. I wonder if it heard that you will soon be able to search the bushes and decided to relocate to Virginia?
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the new roof. I hope the installation doesn't interrupt your naps!
Kat
I hope you have fun looking for bunnies, but please be kind to the little critters!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's odd that a big hail storm and its damage was great news for you!
ReplyDeleteCiara can go back to her gardening hobby. She's going to love that!!!!
