Whiney Wednesday

Crazy days here with all this roof work.

Our entire schedule has been brutally disrupted. All three of us are upset by the intrusion in our yard. Phantom doesn't want to eat, and TD and Ciara both have sick tummies. We had the Momster up three times with us wanting to go out last night. Actually we HAD to go out.

I am crossing my paws that this work will end soon. I really miss not being able to play outside, and the noise is horrible.

A note from the Momster:

When you go inside your garage and look up, you really shouldn't be seeing the sky:(

Somebody dropped something and it came right through the garage finished ceiling.

This is the mess we have. There have been lots of heated exchanges with the workers, getting them to respect our property. They are doing a good job on the roof, but it is the rest of the property we are worried about.

It has been three days now and we aren't even close to the halfway point:(

Poor Ciara is so bored - she tried to have some fun as you can see in this video, but some pup was not interested in playing.

Not feeling so great today, I just want to be left alone.

What happened to my "home sweet home"?

Woos ~ Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara

Oh, I hate to see those pictures of your beautiful home. Find a happy place, find a happy place.
We're hoping this is over soon for you.

  4. Yikes. I'm done nagging the Knight about our roof. It isn't a NEED per se, and I'm sure the noise and disruptions would stress Gretchen to no end.

Hope harmony returns to your home soon.

  5. Sigh. Hope it's all over soon. Doggies hate home improvement. PS - watch for those nails when they're all finished.

  8. Good grief! When our mom sees roofers in our area, they're always tossing stuff down into gigantic dumpsters that get hauled away. Why aren't they using a few of those at your home? That's ridiculous, to make that much mess!

  9. I don't want to rain into your living room, but check Patience's recent post on roofers and dog tummies.

I think it will be the second one down.

Do you have any puzzle toys, Ciara? That might help pass the time.

  15. This is not sumpthin' Mom needed to see right now as we are waitin' for a phone call to say that our remodelers are ready to start destruction and "re-struction" of our kitchen. I saw her take a big "GULP" when she saw the mess in your yard. Paws crossed that the roofers do a good job and get outta town soon.

    Woofs and structured slobbers,
    Chester ;0=)

*I know this is not good fun with strangers makin' noise and all but really-not eatin' and gettin' sick is gonna make things worse. I can't imagine ever gettin' so upset that I don't eat. ;0=)

  22. Oh wow! A hole in your ceiling and a mess in the yard? That is so not right! We hope the rest of the roofing ordeal goes more smoothly than it has so far. We're just shocked at the mess!

We feel sorry for the dogs too and hope Phantom starts eating and that somepup wants to play with Ciara! Many hugs to all of you!

  23. Wow, what a mess. I hope they can get that done soon. I know how disruptive things like that can be, especially for our pets who don't understand what just happened to their world.

    ReplyDelete
  24. That mess is completely unacceptable. The Mr. is was always so fastidious about job sites when he worked on other people's houses that they be left neat and as clean as possible at the end of the day. Does seem like it is taking a long time too. I hope it all gets straightened out.

  25. Wow! We hope they finish up soon. That does not look like fun. Mom says she would rather move than have repair work done on a house! We think it must be some kind of rule that when something is being repaired, something else has to break. Don't know for sure, but that always seems to be the way it is! Good luck to all of you!

  27. We feel for you! What should be okay turns out to be a mess and you or us just want to run away!!! We had our contractor out today and had to call the police and Code Enforcement because the "...." next door came out and caused a mess. The .....guy said in front of the police that he was going to pull my shed down with a chain and refused to move his clown mobile. It was a horrible day. My contractor got really upset but did things by the book....I had to keep coming back inside the house. The police ran off after telling him to MOVE away and I told code enforement on the phone I didn't blame them...I wanted to leave to! Let's all go on a nice vacation! Lots of love, Debbie & Holly

  29. Dad makes lots of heaps of stuff too and it's mom's job to clean it all up! Hang in there guys - it can't last forever! We are as bored as you are.

  30. What a mess those roofers are making! Murray's Dad was involved in the construction business for a long time - health and safety on site was always a big part of any job and particularly with residential houses when work was being done! We couldn't believe the mess those roofers are making of your garden apart from the danger of all that debris!

Paws crossed it gets completed as quickly as possible!

We hope your Mom has a quieter night tonight and everyone's tummies are a bit more settled. We use Bach's Rescue Remedy here when there are stressful situations and it always works really well on Clive - who has a very sensitive tummy!

    Thinking of you all,
    take care

  31. OMD! That is a mess! I sure hope they clean up after themselves. There's nothing more disruptive than construction - it is so stressful for everyone. Paws crossed that is all over soon (and that they do a good job)!

    Your pal, Pip

P.S.: I just read your comment. People (like the UPS guy and postman) often think I am a bigger dog based on my bark and then are surprised when they see me. BOL!

  32. Wow, I'm so sorry your ceiling has the sickies! That's bad. I'm sending some healing thoughts to your roof...just in case it might help. Hope those workers fix this quick so life gets back to normal. More importantly: I'm sending healing vibes to all of you so your tummy sickies, sore ears and boredom are all chased away.

  36. I hate to hear that the pups are getting sick. Do you read Patience=Please blog? Yesterday she wronte about The Runs and Staple Guns, describing how her dogs got a bacteria sickness from the stuff that had been up on the roof. Go to http://patience-please.blogspot.com/ and scroll down. You will find it interesting.

What a mess they have made, that is just awful!

  40. Wowsers, your yard is a MESS! I can see why momster makes you stay inside...are the little bipeds about, too? We so feel your boredom and pain about the situation....we don't have roofers, just high temps. Maybe we should all just hop in our cars and meet somewhere where we can have fun.

  42. Ciara, you are so funny! You sure know how to entertain yourself! And TD really has the chompers! His snap was awfully loud! :->

I think you pups are better off inside as it is going to be VERY hot the next few days.

Sorry Phantom is not eating. We hope he feels better soon. :-<

So sorry about your roofers. At least they are getting the roof done right, that is important. When my human K's mom had roof work done in the late 1990s, the roofers left nails and wood bits all over the yard, and one even broke a drinking glass and just left it in the yard! It took three days to clean up their mess. It was horrible. We hope your roofers will clean up after themselves. And we hope they do O.K. in this big heat wave coming. I wouldn't want their job in this heat! Blah.

Thanks for the good thoughts about Toby. It's certainly been a process, but we're getting though it. He seems to be tolerating the Lysodren. I'm really sorry your Dakota didn't. It's hard to go through all this only to lose them in the end.

  53. Oh, wowwww, what a mess! You guys must be going crazy! We are having a deck put up around our pool (small potatoes compared to your roofing job) but it has been sitting for over a week waiting for the guy...so we have an idea of imagine how Phantom, Ciara & Thunder must missing running...which all equals indoor zoomies! My five are all blowing their coats, so tumbleweeds of fur everywhere! Your babies' coats look so beautiful! Good luck with roof job, hang in their beautiful Sibes, it's got to be over soon....???
