Show Your Treat Day Saturday

Today we join our good furiends Jack-a-Roo and Moo in celebrating the second annual "Show Us Your Treat Jar" Day.

And help out those a little less fortunate too.

Can you believe we only have ONE measly treat jar? It has Alpo Liver Treats in it - we love them but wish Alpo would make them bigger even if Mom says they are the perfect size for a quick treat. The Momster also says it would be pointless to have more treat jars because with four of us, the treats never last long enough to need to store them:) So to show you our other treats, we borrowed the Halloween treat bowls before they get filled with all that yummy chocolate that we can't have.

Here is a closeup of some of our special treats. We love them all, especially that wonderful duck jerky and just about any treat from Trader Joe's. Of course, our favorite treats are the ones that are homemade, but we don't seem to have any of those around here right now. Hint, hint, Momster.

In keeping with the spirit of this special day, Mom will be delivering this big box of treats along with a big bag of dog food from Costco (yet to be purchased) to our local shelter,
Wayside Waifs. It won't be nearly enough to treat all the pups there, but we hope it will help make some of their lives a little nicer.

The Momster has a really hard time getting a decent photo of all four of us together. So we will have to make do with these.

Phantom doesn't hear much these days, but he did hear the word SNOW mentioned yesterday. Here he is looking for the white stuff in his yard. He missed the part about it all being waaaaaaay east of OP. To all our furry pals on the East Coast, enjoy that snow and stay safe.

Now where is that duck jerky, Mom?

Have a great weekend.

  3. Ha-roo, furiends! Wowzers, that's a huge box of treats to donate - that is so nice of woo! We know the shelter pups will love having something a little special!

We love alpo chips too - that's whats inside our "regular" treat jar. Did woo notice we had Yummie chummies in our "special" treat jar? Those are one of our most favorite treats! That duck jerky sounds interesting, maybe mom will let us try some of that, too.

Thanks for pawticipating - same time next year!

    a-roos to yous,
    jack & moo

PS - no white stuff here, we're right on the ocean, but we hope the pups & peeps leaving the Nationals in Fitchburg MA have safe drives home!

  4. WAIT! You guys actuallly shared your duck jerky and liver treats? I'd have to sneak those out of the house so Stumpy didn't know!

Your snow is coming, Phantom! I don't blame you for not wanting to share the spotlight!

I'm always amazed that you can get even three dogs to pose perfectly!

    Happy, Waggin' Tails, FUREVER!

  9. I don't keep my boys' treats in a bowl either.

I'm sure snow will be there sooner rather than later (considering it's winter and all!) so Phantom will have something to look forward to.

  15. We'd be embarrassed to show pictures of our treat jars. They're so big, but there are a lot of us. Mom says thanks for reminding her to start collecting treats and kibble for the shelter dogs.

Wish we were having a snow day today.

  21. Hi Everybuddy, what a great idea. We have a local rescue home we could support too. Thanks. Your treats looks yummers. Mum is trying to get us all to behave when she gets the treats out. I have to jump up and down, up and down, cause Rory and Tyler are just so much taller than me.

Mum had success yesterday cause she didn't speak just waited, and waited, and waited until I finally got the message and sat. I was a good girl. We all send extra hugs to Phantom cause he looked a little sad in the photo.
No worries, and love, Stella and Rory

  25. Wow, you guys sure have a lot of yummy treats!

That is so nice of you guys to donate to the shelter as well.

I also read your comment about taking one of your pups to be a therapy dog. I think you should consider it. They are so beautiful and nothing better than being able to make someone smile by just sharing your pup with them.

I am addicted to those since our Grandpa brought them to me from Alaska! Costco has them in huge bags so I made Mommy stock them up for me!

  31. We recognized that purple bag from across the office! Unlike your Pack, we have treat jars in almost every room, usually filled with Fromm's cheese or liver-cranberry crackers...and of course, DUCK JERKY!

We are taking a big bag of cheeseburger flavored treats to Watermelon Ranch tomorrow to share. Wouldn't it be great if every pup and kitty had someone who regularly made sure THEIR treat jar was full? Some day.
