Friday the 13th - Our Lucky Day

We know we are looking very serious, but trust us, this is serious stuff.

The Momster won't buy us any products made in China any more, but we so love our jerky treats.  So after seeing lots of posts about making chicken jerky, she decided to try it.  We don't have a dehydrator (yet), but it is so easy to make in the oven.  Our only complaint is that it takes soooooooo long.

Boneless, skinless chicken breasts sliced super thin.

Baked at 200 degrees for 2-3 hours in the oven.

Mom forgot to grease the sheet before she put down the chicken, but they really didn't stick too badly.  Next time she will remember AND she will make lots more.

The anticipation begins . . .

Lightning can taste them from a distance.

Lightning:  Me first???

Thunder:  I would still prefer some steak on the grill, but go ahead, hit me with the jerky.

Ciara:  I don't mind waiting as long as you give me the biggest piece.

Phantom:  I came out of my bunker for this, so be sure to make it worthwhile, Mom.

And a little while later . . .

The others are all outside - can I have some more please???

We hope you all have lots of good luck come your way today too.

Woos - Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning

  11. We think your mom is super sonderful for making those jerky treats.

But, as an older brother, I must ask:

Don't you think that Thunder, as Senior Sibe (or Senor Sibe) should get the treats firstest? I do.

  29. Thank you for sharing the recipe with us. My mom examines all the chicken jerkey at the store and she usually find little tiny words that say product of U.S.A but made or manufactured in china , so she will not buy it.
I want her to make this recipe for me.. and then I will beg for more- just like all of you are doing! I hope you get more!

  30. What a great Mommy you have! We bet those 2-3 hours to cook were long ones! The smell must have been delish! Enjoy!

  31. Hi you OP pups! My Mom said she would make me some just like yours did. Did she use those frozen chicken breasts you get in bags with a shot of water in them or does she use the ones that are on the meat counter? I don't think 2 hours at 200 is very long! Maybe it just seems that way while you are waiting.

Thanks for the tip! Cheers and hugs,
    Jo, Stella and Zkhat
