Along with many of our blogging pals, we will be in the line of severe storms heading through the middle of our country today. We are expecting the worst of the storms after dark. But we thought we would get started early on our weather watch.
Lightning: I will look this way. Ciara, what is wrong with your ears? |
Thunder: How funny, they keep talking about loud Thunder, I am NOT loud. |
Lightning: OK, I am watching this way now. What are you two doing to help? |
Breaktime: Let's all look at Mom - she has that jerky!!! |
And our fourth Storm Watcher, Phantom, has his radar hard at work from his bunker inside. He is pretty sure there will be "some weather" here sometime today or tonight. Mom says Ciara is a bit bothered by storms and that is why she has her funny ears on.
Many of you had some questions about the chicken jerky. In a nutshell, there is nothing on the chicken, no spices, no salt, nothing at all. The thinner you can slice the chicken, the more jerky-like it will become. We cooked ours for about 3 hours at 200 degrees in the oven. Mom says the recipe she used said it can be kept for 2-3 weeks in an airtight container in the refrigerator or you can freeze it and use as needed. We won't have to worry about it being around THAT long. You really should try it - so easy and so good.
We are hoping all stay safe from this impending outbreak of storms.
Woos - Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning

Morgan and the Porties
We had all day rains yesterday, just soft stuff, and today its beautiful blue skies and sunshine. We don't want any storm to come our way and don't want it to hurt our pals either. So just be very careful and do like Phantom does, just get inside and keep safe!
ReplyDeleteMom says she will make me chicken jerky next Monday. I'm gonna make sure she remembers too!
Kisses,
Stella
I hope the storms stay FAR FAR away.. just some nice gentle rain fur your grass and flowers.
ReplyDeleteHey... my mom... who makes a lot of jerky in a year.. both Deer and Beef and Chicken.. says here is a tip fur you.
PARTIALLY freeze the meat BEFORE trying to slice it. That makes the cutting MUCH Easier.. butt be prepared fur some COLD fingers.
Our vote from the holler is everyone to their kennels/paws over ears and we'll be praying for ya'll. Somebody give Ciara a hug...we love her ears.
ReplyDeleteI've got my paws crossed for your safety today!
ReplyDeleteStewey
We will say a prayer that you are safe and I have paws crossed. We have rain here today(Michigan)but so far nothing bad like they are having in other places. I am just like Phantom for storms, Mommy got some calming chews from the Vetlady and lately I seem to sleep during the storms for some reason. Tell Phantom I would be snuggling with him if I could. The pictures of the beauties are so nice, Ciarras ears are funny.
ReplyDeleteLoveys Sasha
We are crossing our paws that all our friends will be safe. Of course, with you having Thunder and Lightning on your side, we expect you will be fine!

Those storms veered off to the north and just missed us. I never mind when that happens. I hope Phantom made it through alright and didn't get too spooked if any of those storms were close to you guys.
ReplyDeleteCiara sure did have her funny ears on. I hope that you are still safe, and that Phantom has calmed down.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it nice when they all finally look at you for the big photo?
I love your banner photo.
