Monday Mischief Maker

Mom:  "Well, what do we have here?"

Mom:  "What are you doing in there? That's the no-sibe zone!"

"Just checking on the pretty roses, Mom."

"NO, NO, NO, I was NOT feasting on bunnies.  That was Thunder."

"OK, so maybe I did have a taste or two.  Can you please get me out of here NOW???"

Woos, Lightning

Note from the Momster:  The no-sibe fence has worked very well until this weekend.  We finally have mulch that stays in place, shrubs that grow and thrive, roses in bloom.  But the lure of baby bunnies proved to be too much for Thunder and Lightning.  They both managed to get in there.  I think they are jumping the fence but for some reason, Lightning can't seem to figure out how to get out.  Anyone have any ideas for how to get the dumb rabbits to make their nests outside of our yard???

Yummm put carrots on the outside of the yard? I don't know that's all aI could come up with. But I bet Wyatt from Gardening with Wyatt would have the answer., That Wyatt knows EVERYTHING about gardens and all related to gardens.

Happy Monday to you Woos, I think that the fenced area feels so small to you pups that it is hard to get a running start to jump out. We had bunnies in our yard til we dog sat a week ago and they haven't been back since. They are so cute but were eating my plants.
Have a great day.

UhOh...Lightning me tinks you is in trouble. Remember, those baby bunnies are next year's Easter Bunnies so leave em alone or you might not get your Easter basket next year!

one of my neighbors once told me to cut up scented soap and to leave them by flowers, etc to keep the nibblers away...we have all sorts of wildlife by us and have not had a problem by doing that. I like your fence though!

Reilly / Denny Cowspotdogs said...

Hmmm you could get a doggie to keep the bunnies away - oh wait - I guess that didn't work :) :)

We've heard to put dog hairs around the flower beds. You surely have some extra dog hairs around. HAHA!

Lightning...you can do it! Just JUMP. If you would learn how to get out, you wouldn't get caught!!!!

I would have thought that 4 sibes would be discouragement enough. ~Alasandra

The flowers are lovely can we come sit in the flowerbed with you Lightening? We promise not to hurt the bunnies. BTW a silly bunny almost ran into our Mommy when she was walking Fenris the other day.

Did Thunder really eat the bunnies? That would make our Mommy cry although Socks did manage to catch a full grown rabbit once. We are all very proud of him, except for Mommy who was upset about it.

Wow, Lightning can really pull of the "sweet innocent" look, can't he?
I've heard that putting moth balls around your home rids you of mice, bunnies, snakes,,,I haven't tried it out yet. It would have to be where Lightning couldn't try it as a snack and get sick.

I've heard spraying lower bushes/branches with a mixture of dish soap and water. I've also seen having the edges of chicken wire sticking against a fence

If you figure out how to get the rabbits to leave your yard, Mom wants to know the secret! They won't leave ours, either, despite numerous close calls with most of us!

Wow, what cute pix of sibes on security! Now, to keep out the critters, I can tell you fur sure that the moth balls really work. My Mom does that now and it keeps out deer, bunnies, skunks, birds etc. One moth ball near each plant (or small bunch of plants) will work wonders...no guarantee about keeping out sibes! BOL

Honestly, I have no idea how to get rabbits out of a yard. I live in the city in CA. No real wildlife here.

Those are such innocent faces, I could never believe a rabbit was inside of them!

Lightening, how can you figure out how to get in but not out?! That is too funny! And you look so pretty in the photos! As pretty as your mom's roses!

*drool...I am SO jealous you had bunnies!! And you answered your mom's question - the way to get bunnies out of your yard is to eat them!

It's so funny when dogs jump a fence to be somewhere they aren't suppose to be in and then when they get caught, have no idea how to get out. So they just sit there with their cutest grin!

The only way I know to keep rabbits from nesting under bushes or where you don't want them is to use chicken wire. I love your fence around the flower beds. Maybe you could put a protective chicken wire barrier on the inside part of the fence to help hide it and still be able to keep bunnies out.

Poor T and L sure do try but those darn rabbits...reminds me of the Trix cereal commercial. :)

We understand completely. You just walked into the yard and aliens transported you into the no walk area. So you don't have any idea how to get out again. It happens to us all the time, but Mom still doesn't believe it.

We are having the same problem at our house! The fence I put up last months has now been taken down by Newfs and I think there are bunnies hiding out in there! I can't keep Sherman out of there now!

Siku Marie, White Dog said...

Don't you need a little Thunder and Lightning in the garden to make everything bloom after the storm?

Jeanne Pursell said...

Your fence looks awesome...as do your roses!!! Lightning is so cute!!! How can you stay mad at him?? We have the same problem here with the girlz...they are ALWAYS in the garden!!

Unfortunately I have no idea on how to lure the bunnies away from the fence but I certainly find it funny how Lightning wasn't able to figure out how to get out when he certainly didn't stop himself coming in.

I love your garden!
