Serene Sunday or maybe not so serene

Let's start with the serene stuff.

Three of the grandbipeds wanted to let you see that the front of our house actually does have some flowers in bloom.  See - we don't get to play in the front yard.

Then they just wanted to be silly.

But at least the setting is still serene.

Now let's move on to the not-so-serene scene.

Thunder Dunder here with a tale to share of what happened to me last night.

Lightning here, I promise you I didn't do it!!!

Thunder's eye after a little playtime with innocent Lightning.

OH, I can't bear to look:(

The above photo is a reenactment between Ciara and Lightning of what Thunder and Lightning were doing - just a simple game of bitey face - all in fun, all play.

BUT that glass table behind us decided it wanted to join the fun.  Thunder somehow managed to crash into the table and really smacked his face on the edge.  Hence the gouge in his eyebrow.

Ciara here, I want you to know I was trying to be a good referee, but TD just moved too fast.

See - I told you it wasn't my fault.

Lightning, I think I like it best when you just relax like this where I can keep an "eye" on you.

Note from the Momster:  Thunder is just fine, but he was a bit stunned last night.  You should have heard the THUD - guess that goes along with the name Thunder.

Woos - Phantom (camped out in his bunker as thunderstorms approach), Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning

  1. Glad Phantom has his crate back to camp out in.

Sorry Thunder got hurt but it was the table's fault.

  6. Ouch!! Monty bumped into the corner of a table once and cut close to his eye, but even worse was when he ran into a barbed wire fence and cut so close to the eye that we rushed him to the vet. No stitches necessary, but he always had a scar from it.

    Play nicely, children.

Oh by the way we had thunder storms this morning.

  7. Accidents happen. Glad the eye isn't too bad. We tend to run into walls.

  8. Happy Paws to you today. So sorry about the scrape but glad T.D. wasn't hurt too bad. Wrestling matches can get like that sometimes. Glad the tabletop didn't break.
We had some thunder here last night and I'm just ignoring it in hopes that Hunter doesn't start getting scared by it. Hope the storms have passed your area; we'll be having them until the end of summer.

  10. Thunder, I hope you are feeling better today. The ouchie looks like it really hurt. The grandbipeds and the flowers are really nice to see. Herman is having a birthday party today. You are welcome to come over and hunt gophers in the yard.

  11. What exciting times at your house!

Glad Thunder didn't get a bad, bad hurt, and happy for Phantom he has his crate back. Old guys get upset over stuff like that.

We had thunder last night too and Stella woke me up three times so that I knew and didn't just sleep through it. She thinks people need to KNOW about Thunder Boomers.
I think people need a good nights sleep.

    Kisses,
    Jo, Stella and Zkhat

  17. None of that action going on here with a single geriatric dog, but I know what it can be like (we had four large dogs at one time). You should be thankful that your glass topped table is still in one piece! Now that would have been real messy.

The nerve of that table, wanting to join in!

Dont worry Lightning, we never suspect it was you!

  24. I don't know where to start. First Mommy is going crazy for the flowers in the front and of course the beautiful grands sitting there. Next I am sorry to read there is a storm coming, you and I are alike in that. I get so nervous and I usually end up hiding in the bath tub. I don't know why, but my Peeps have given in and they put a blanket in there, when storms are near. Finally, poor Thunder, I am sorry about your booboo. Lightning you look so innocent I knew it couldn't have been you. I hope Thunder is ok and taking it easy. Ciara has things under control I am sure and I bet Phantom is in his bunker.

  27. Phhhh - those flowers are just beautiful - and the kids are obviously having a fun, fun time! Poor Thunder! Sounds like a scary crash after some truly fun play - glad you are okay TD! We've been fortunate not to run into any huge storms yet, but even a few thunderbumpers make us woof, so we get it Phantom! Duck for cover!

  29. I just knew you didn't do it Thunder. But I am so sorry to see anyone of your handsome/beautiful faces marred up by a gash like this.

I guess that sometimes, fun has its price.

  30. Ouchie, that hurts! I hope you're feeling much better today, Lightning! It's all because of the table!

  31. Phantom - I was out hiking yesterday and got stuck in a thunnerstorm with NO HIDEY SPOT! The tunner and lightning did not skeer me but getting my ears we sure did!

Pee Ess - Yup, that bitey face can result in injuries but I feel the benefits far outweigh the risk. Besides, we have two eyes so as long as one still werks...

  32. Purrsonally we like "silly grandbeans" over "serene grandbeans" ... but then it's a real dilemma to choose "serene woos" over "smacking woos" ...
    glad ThunderDunder's ouchie is OK!

  33. Why is humans always put glass topped tables right in the middle of the best wrestling ground? Glad you are not hurt Thunder, the cut just makes you look "muy macho!"

We love your beautiful flowers and both versions of the grandbeans!
