Monday Mischief?

Yep, the Momster picked ME again for the Mischief on Monday post.

But wait until you see what I have to show you!!!

I was enjoying some quiet time on the deck by myself - you know my pack mates can be so rowdy sometimes.

Hmmmm, something doesn't seem quite right here.  I don't think I should be able to put my head through here.

I just know she is going to say I did it.  I will close my eyes and wish with all my heart that the glass will reappear.

Now what do I do?  I think the Momster is going to need more than just my wish to fix this one.

Woos - Lightning

Note from the Momster:  Lightning for a change is totally innocent here.  Our glass-topped table became a victim of the horrible heat of this summer.  With no witnesses, and no pups outside, it suddenly shattered.  And when I say shattered,  I mean shattered, like into about 10,000 itsy bitsy pea-sized pieces.  I spent a long time popping all the shards out from in between the boards - not a lot of fun.  I should have taken pics but trying to get it totally cleaned up before the pups and the grandbipeds came out was a major undertaking.  Needless to say, the new table will NOT have a glass top.

  2. I've given up on glass tables here in AZ - the same thing has happened to so many of them. Our last one that shattered we replaced with heavily varnished wood, and had a lot of fun painting a design on it!

  14. Oh wow I am just so glad that there was no one there when it broke. Shattered glass is horrible because it gets everywhere..Maybe you can get some nice wood cut to shape for the table.. Hugs GJ xx

  20. ... and people keep asking why I have that obnoxious wrought iron table... The top is the same "woven" surface as the seated portion of the chairs. No, I wouldn't risk fine crystal on it, but it's safe for the dogs and holds plastic ware just fine.

  21. So glad nobody was out on the deck when that happened. Love the pictures of Lightning looking like he is on a guilt trip over the table top.

  43. The heat has been really something this year! I can't imagine all the shards you must have had to clean up!

  44. Glad no one was hurt and that Lightning was innocent! The weird thing is that your table is the second one we heard of today that shattered over the weekend into bazillions of pieces. Makes us nervous about the glass top on our table on the back deck (but it is shaded so maybe that helps?)

    ReplyDelete
  45. Oh no! Thank goodness no one was around when that glass shattered. And your poor mom, cleaning out every single shard. Did a vaccuum help?
We know you aren't that big of a trouble-maker, Lightning! :)

  46. Pshew, Lightning. I know you were breathing a sigh of relief. Thank goodness it was tempered, but I KNOW what a mess that must have been. Sage & her pal Toby broke the glass door to an entertainment cabinet at Toby's house not too long ago (fortunately Sage was not the culprit) and we spent quite some time cleaning that up too.

  47. Glad no doggies were hurt, but I bet you were sore after cleaning up and making sure there were no bits of glass anyplace where human puppies or doggies could get at them. Never knew that could happen.

  48. SO glad no one or pup was injured. When Gibson was 2, he used to jump up on our glass patio table, and lo-and-behold, that summer it too shattered into a billion pieces and we thought it was because of Gibson parking himself up there (and that was when he was a much lighter pup)...it's amazing what the summer heat can do. (Of course, I'm sure in our case, Gibson always standing on it didn't help the wire frame). Thankfully, Gibson was not on it nor was he or Harley anywhere near it when it broke, but it was some loud crash. Nowadays, we do have another glass topped one...but it is on another side of the deck that the Husky kids can not go on! (They have our old side!)
