Thanks on Thursday or Maybe Not

So what do we have here?

The sorry state of affairs in the toy department at The OP Pack.  We laid them out for Mom last night.

Yes, that is my beloved blue and gray possum in the middle up there - I used to love to carry him around in my mouth, very gently and lovingly.  You can see what SomePup did to him.

So we sort of shamed the Momster into finally getting us a few new toys.

Yes, that "us" would be us, Ciara and Lightning.

Thunder has very little interest in toys now, but he is willing to pose if there is a treat involved.

Look, one of these even says: "I love you."
Aww, thanks, Mom - we love you too.

 Let the fun begin.

Oops, something is wrong with this one, Mom - it is oozing white fluffy stuff.

 What happened???  I don't have a clue.

Of course,  I am telling the truth, Mom.  It just sort of happened.

Looks like this white snooter is having problems with his monkey too - we spot the beginnings of some similar seepage of the fluffy white stuff.

No, I am not hanging my head in shame.

See, I found the prize.

Here is a close-up.  Just gotta get that squeaker.

Oh well, who needs perfect toys anyway?

Woos - Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning

Pee Ess: Mom says to please excuse us for not visiting as much this week.  The grandbipeds were here for the weekend and then the oldest one got very sick.  Mom had her all day Monday and Tuesday because she couldn't go to school and her parents had to work. And now the rest of the week has been conference time at school, so all three of them have been here with no school.  She is up to her eyeballs in kids (including us four).

  1. OMD! OMD!! You had Ma just ROLLIN' in laughter!!! I ALWAYS go after the squeaky! That's the bestest part!!!
Ma usually trys to gets the stuffless toys, but they just aren't as much funs!! That's why she usuall buys the 'bargin' toys at PetSmart or PetCo, etc. Target use to have a $1 dog toy bin, which Ma just LOVED...not anymores thou. Bummer.
Perfect toys are just no fun guys!

    Kisses,

  4. OMDs looks like that one toy might have a low white cell count which would indicate he is REALLY sick. MOL

We love all the colorful toys and hope you enjoy them. I bet the bipeds have enjoyed playing with you 4 this week

  6. Faulty design....toys just don't stay together very well, do they....

Hope your Mom get some 'time out', kids...no matter how well behaved and cute are full on!

  8. Hmm...leaky toys...sounds like mom needs to go back and buy some more toys for you that aren't defective...maybe she can return them to the store and show them the defectiveness!! I'm sure they'd take them back! :)

  9. We think Petsmart should start making extra strong unbreakable toys for you! That looks like fun, enjoy!
Hope the grandbipeds are feeling better soon.

  10. My Vickie c alled me over and read your post to me, showing me the pictures and saying "Bert, Pay attention...THIS is why you are not allowed unsupervised toy play" And all I saw was a really cool squeaker that would taste so good, all the way down to my tummy. Of course then Dr. Eddie would havet to take it out, but it would taste good on the way down.

Hope the little ones are all better and as the weekend aproaches, you all get some much needed Momster time.

  11. Those new toys seem to always leak. What's up with that. But I think it is very nice of your mom to get you new ones. And by the way boys it is snowing RIGHT NOW at my house. Has been since morning. The second time this week the white stuff has come down. So come on over. I have plenty of toys to share and some still have the prize inside.
    Blessings,

  12. Removing the squeaker is a necessity. Sebastian chews on his toys but never breaks the skin. Mom says we should all learn from him.

  16. Oh goodness, the doggies here used to love to chew that squeaker out of those toys. It was our favorite thing to do. That last picture is just the best. We love it. Take care.

  17. I see no problems here. Stuffies are SUPPOSED to look like that.. AREN't THEY???

And... I look at them as being OUR version of Cracker Jacks... with the Squeakers... being the PRIZE inside.
Surely I am not misguided, am I?

  18. Hi, It is good to know that there are others out there that kill toys too-rather trying to find the little squeaky critter. I can't believe the price of some toys-Hunter has so many and thankfully his cousin,Lily, who will be staying with us for a week, doesn't play with toys at all-never learned how.
I hope your mom doesn't feel the need to run out and get more right away. I also look at garage sales for stuffies.

  21. Happy Howloween!

You sure got some great toys there! Too bad they didn't last longer so that you could enjoy them even more. My boys always chew the squeakers out really fast too. I have to watch them closely when they get a toy like that, because I'm always afraid they'll swallow it.

  22. We have a similar problem with our new pup Millie. She seems to want to amputate any appendage her toys have. So far she isn't so much into gut ripping, but she gnaws on anything that sticks out such as ears and legs. I will have to invent some home made toys that are less easily destroyed.

We have a sudden rise in interest in toys in our house too. I've bought a boatload of very tough toys... none have been bitten in half yet, and everyone is having tons of fun!

Did you hear about the Squirrel Convention with Allred present in your area? Oh my... you'd better watch out!

    I love that squeaker too!

    From Priscilla:
Regarding the changing pictures in our blog was done by Rosie and when I asked her how to make it happen, her reply was something that I completely didn't understand at all; it was far too complicated for my brain to absorb. I've told her to write to you when she is free and obviously she is busy having fun on a farm right now. I'll try to make her write to you when she is home in Christmas : )

  38. There is nothing like breaking in a new toy. Good job. Wow, you have a lot going on over there. I hope you are having fun.

  39. When I get a new toy, its the squeaker I like best, to make music with. Today we stopped at the Pet and Garden Store and I got to pick out my own rawhide, like a doughnut shape. I love to chew on those guys . . .do you?

    Kisses,
    Stella

  47. There's nothing like a public shaming to get a mom to go out and buy more dog toys, is there? How funny that she bought a toy that said "I love you" on it...what a great way to apologize!
We understand not being able to comment on everyone's blogs because of a busy schedule but we always think of our blogger buds all the time and we know you haven't forgotten us either.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Do I ever know what you mean about those stuffies. Do you have a race to see who un-stuffs the fastest? I bet I could be right up there with the best of you...especially if there's a squeaker involved!

Wow, and I thought one was a handful! I know what you mean...the only time I can get on the computer is when she's asleep and it seems today it's going to be a very short nap...

    ReplyDelete
  49. Oh Dog, that's just like my toyz..Humom always buys the faulty ones, where bits and bobs, stuffin and squeakers..JUST FALL OUT. It's nuffin to do wiff uz, is it guy'z?? BOL xx00xx

  50. Ah mates, that post made us feel sooooo good. We feel even closer to you all now cause we do EXACTLY the same things hehehehehe. Usually it's Stella who finds the treasure inside the toys but mum always take it away, sigh. We hope your little peep is all better now and your mum has some time to relax. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory

  51. I've been on vacation all week so no visits either. Tell your mom that I've had a squeeky toy for almost two months now without destroying it. There may just be some hope for Lightning.
