Special Thanks on Sunday

We were so surprised today to see so many of our friends post special tributes for Thunder.  We tried to leave a comment on each one, but we are worried we may have missed some.  Mom is testing out two different new readers, and we hope we haven't missed any.  If we did miss you, please let us know.  We are so very grateful for all the love being sent our way.  We know that many of you did special posts before - and we are very grateful to you as well.  It is such a wonderful feeling to be so loved.

We are all doing OK.  Phantom has been on a bit of a hunger strike, but Mom keeps trying to find ways to get him to eat.  Lightning is missing his fun guy times with Thunder and has been trying to entice Phantom to play with him now.  Phantom sometimes wants to get a bit too frisky for Mom's peace of mind.  She worries he will get hurt because he is pretty fragile (he wouldn't want us to say that).  And dear Ciara - she has had the toughest time here.  She has mostly been on the quiet side, but luckily Lightning does a good job of bugging her enough to get her playing too.  She had a very bad time this year with the fireworks that were shot off locally in our neighborhood.  She has decided that she is NOT going outside once the clock hits 7:00 P.M.  Mom has a heck of a time getting her out for her last potty break.  Of course, it doesn't help that some of the idiot neighbors are still shooting off some of those bang bangs.  Hopefully their supply will run out soon.

We hope to get Mom back to blogging soon.  Right now we have a houseful of family with our human brother and family here for a visit as well as our two human sisters' families - the house can get quite loud and full:) but it is all a lot of fun.  And Mom is trying to deal with some serious hip and leg pain.  So bear with us - we are trying.

Woos - Phantom, Ciara, and Lightning

We hope they stop real soon too! Enjoy your visitors and we send gentle hugs to your mum and hope her leg/hip is better soon. Take care everybuddy. No worries, and LOVE, Stella and Rory

  4. We all feel sad when one of our number leaves us. We may not have known Thunder in the furs, but we count him among our friends. So we are sad along with you. Sounds like Lightning has designated himself has the cheer squad.

Hope you are all feeling better soon.

  5. I know how much you all must miss him. Even though there are other dogs in the home it is still SO quite when one of the pack has to leave (as we learned with both Harley and Samick). I am so very sorry and wish we could take your pain and sorrow away but he will live on with all the great photos and memories you have of him. I hope your leg and hip pain feels better soon. Hugs to your pack from mine.

  7. OH NO! We had no idea it was Thunder day!

I am so sorry to hear about your mom. I hope the human kiddos are taking good care of her and giving all you guys extra treats.

Poor Ciara! We had a big boom in our neighborhood today too. It doesn't bother me but Mrs. Master is about to start searching for the bozos to yell at them.

We too didn't know everybody was going to do a tribute to Thunder yesterday but indeed they did and it was quite lovely.....we do wish we'd known you and Thunder before he went to the Bridge but are ever so happy that we know you now. We continue purrrraying that life will get back to some form of "normal" soon. We send hugs....

We will be praying that your hip and leg pain subside. Girl, you have had a real time of it. Remember that God loves you and is for you! We are too...

  32. WE are so sorry that we missed posting about Thunder on Sunday. Mom has a sick daughter and granddaughters and she missed all the lovely posts. We know that things are different at your house with Thunder gone, and now everyone's roles are changed, that is what happened at our house when Sammy went to the bridge, it takes time and patience but I can tell you have so much love at your house, that it will be okay. Hugs from all of us to all of you.

  33. We too enjoyed all the many postings about Thunder. He was such a beautiful boy. I know he is greatly missed, but left you with some wonderful memories. Our Dixie just found out that she is not a fan of fireworks and we too wish that would go away.

  34. It will take time for you and the pups to come to terms with living without Thunder.
We send all our love and hugs to you all.
As if it isn't bad enough putting up with the fireworks on the day there is always some di**head who has to hoard them for every other day too.
Hope they run out soon too.

  35. We still miss beautiful Thunder. It has been such a bad year...so many of our very good blog friends have been either sick or have gone to the bridge. We are very glad that you have a lot of family around to help you all cope with this. Tell your mom that our mama is having a terrible time with pains too. It must be the weather or something. Have fun with your company!! xoxo Chloe and LadyBug

  36. I'm not in the loop, so when things like this are going on, I never know about them until I log on to blogger. Had I known, I would have posted another tribute to Thunder as well.

I still think of him often. No matter how long you have a pet, it's never long enough.

I'm sorry you're still having to deal with neighbors lighting fireworks. Hopefully their stash will run out soon.

  41. So nice to see so many posts about Thunder! You've been in our thoughts and prayers.

We too have had a hard time with the bang bangs... It was amazing that all of them stopped in Louisiana around 9:30. The little jack arses here in Cali will fire ONE off at 2 am and another at 4... UGH!

  42. I was so very sorry to learn about Thunder. Sounds like the pack is doing OK. Big adjustments ahead as everybody adjusts to their new roles.

It is always so sad to say goodbye to one of our friends. They leave such a gigantic emptiness. But better to have known their love. Every dog we bring into our lives makes our lives that much better.

  45. We are so sorry about Thunder! Huge apologies for the delay in convening this but we have been in Spain for the past three weeks and our Internet connection is not great so we post but we don't get to check up on friends unless we go to the local Internet cafe,

We are truly sorry that Thunder has passed on, we hope you are all are doing okay.

Our best wishes to your Mom, Murray's Mom has had two hip replacements, two dislocations and a hip revision so she's knows all about hip pain. Never easy ....

Look after yourselves and lots of special 'Murray' prayers and good wishes winging their way across the ocean to you!

  46. Just popped in to see how you all are - we can imagine how much you must be all missing Thunder. There must be this huge hole in the house - and in your hearts. We just hope that time will heal things - and it might help a bit to know how many are thinking of you, including us! :-)

We can understand about your Mom's pain issues too - Hsin-Yi still has constant trouble with her RSI in her left arm & shoulder and is often taking a lot of pain killers, in order to keep working at the computer. She knows the best thign is to take a total break but it's so hard when there are always so many thing to do and we're always falling behind (like visiting blog friends!). Take care of yourselves and sending you lots of hugs!

  50. Dang, we didn't know about it! Don't know how we missed it, but you know we definitely would have done a tribute post to TD! :)

Poor Ciara. We, too, hope those "intelligent" (ha!) neighbors run out of their fireworks soon. Good thing that Lightning bugs her to play with him, I'm sure that kind of helps get her mind off of Thunder.

Hope you all have a wonderful visit with your family and so sorry to hear about the Momster's pain...that's no fun!

  51. I is so sorry that I has not been around lately so we could offer our support too. Mum and I will miss Thunder a lot. What a special boy! It all seems too sudden and shocking, trying to catch up on posts and suddenly one of our friends has gone. We can't imagine how hard it must be for you. We know TD will be watching over you all and I hope that time and lots of love helps heal the whole pack. He leaves a big gap.

    Lots of loving lickies, Ludo.

  62. We missed it too... I just realized it when I was dropping by other blogs. I was too late.

Poor Ciara. I understand how she feels. I am sure Rin would also hold it in during New Year.

I know losing Thunder was a big deal. I pray you guys are recovering. Get well soon, Mom.

  63. Dealing with loss does seem to be harder for arctic dogs. When Sage was hurting so, Rumpy was very upset and rarely left her side. When she crossed over the Bridge, he was sad. But it did get better for him and it will for you all too. It just takes time.
