For our special pal Mr. Pip and a Sunday Update

We couldn't miss the opportunity to salute our sweet pal Mr. Pip who crossed the Rainbow Bridge yesterday.  Who doesn't know and love Mr. Pip?!!!!

We are sure that Pip is hosting a grand party with all our pals who are with him in the land of eternal joy and painfree fun!  Cheeseburgers for all - Dakota and Thunder will so enjoy that!  To your loving family, Pip, we send our deepest sympathy for their loss but our hearfelt thanks for the love-filled wonderful care you received from them.  We know from our own experience how tough this must be.  Know that we all mourn with you but also celebrate the joy of Pip's wonderful life with you.

Now for a brief update on the status of things at home:

Is this the face of a happy camper?  While Ciara and Lightning headed off to Camp Kennel on Wednesday, Phantom tried to stay home with Mom and Dad and keep them company.  But having to stay on the second floor or in the basement was totally stressing him out.  Mom decided she would try him at the kennel  on Thursday since it would only be until Friday afternoon.  We all stay with our vets and staff - they are so very good to us.  We get the royal treatment.  Everyone wants to take us home with them:)  Phantom actually did pretty well with his eating, Mom's biggest worry.  He had a nice soft bed to help him with his bad back hips - a new development with him.   But all in all, he did well.  As it turned out, we had to stay until Saturday morning because it rained hard Friday afternoon and early evening and we weren't going to be able to come inside until the painters left at 6:30.  Mom thought it was better not to have us out in the rain, especially Phantom.

Here is a bit of a sneak peek - the countertops have been installed, except for one piece that wasn't cut correctly.

New bar sink and faucet.  Kitchen sink and faucet match this one too.  Backsplash won't be done until next week or later.

Our dining room - only the china closet remains in the room, all wrapped in plastic.  All the rest of the furniture from the whole first floor is either in the garage or basement.  Well, there is a sofa and table in the family room for Mom and Dad to use at night.  But those will be removed tomorrow when the actual painting begins.

The sunroom area of the family room - BARE!!!  So what have those guys been doing for four days???  Everything from walls to windows has been covered in either paper or plastic.  The bathroom sink and toilet are covered.  The hardwood floors are covered with pink paper.  Even the pretty wallpaper in the living room and dining room is covered with plastic.  The painting starts at 7:00 tomorrow morning.  We have to be out of the house by then, so we have a very early start tomorrow.  This time even Mom and Dad have to go stay at a human kennel.

Phantom tests out the pink paper.

Even if there isn't any carpeting, he thinks this quilt is a bit more comfy.

But he is such a good guy - he even shares it with the rest of us.

Yes, we are home from camp, just for the weekend.  We all slept most of Saturday because we were so busy at camp.  But now Lightning tells Ciara she can rest - he has her back.

What do you mean we have to go back again tomorrow?????  This time don't just pack our kibble, put some extra treats in too.  The vet staff gives us some, but they aren't as good as the ones from home.  Heck, nothing is quite like home sweet home.

I wonder if life will be back to normal by November 2oth - I have a big day coming up - Birthday #15!!!

Woos - Phantom, Ciara, and Lightning

  1. Totally upsetting....someone broke your house. Good thing you're at Camp Kennel. We couldn't stand it--watching strangers break up our comfortable house.

Hopefully, everything will be sorted out VERY soon, so you can get back home and get your smell on everything.

I am sure we all feel the same we get to know so many dogs with blogs.
That is the worst thing about fostering for years I get e-mails back from people who tell me our beloved Gyp or Patch or whatever has died. I remember every dog & it hurts every time.
