Monday Mish Mash

It's been on the chilly side here for about a week now.  Mom would say it is more like frigid.  But you know how much we sibes love the cold.

Even the old boy likes to be outside more when the temps dip.

Mom doesn't let Phantom stay outside for very long, but he always manages to move to the farthest point away from the door.  Then she has to get her coat on to get him back inside because he can't hear her calling him:(  We are all hoping his birthday present gets here soon.  We aren't so sure he is going to be thrilled with it, but Mom says he is going to need it this year.  We will show you once it gets here.

But have no fear, he is never out alone.  He always has a buddy or two - here he has the feeling somePup is watching him:)

Once back on the deck, he is trying to remind Mom about his request for steak for his big day this week.  He sure knows how to use those eyes on her.

Steak?   Did someone say steak?  We want in on this too.

I'll even help clean up this NEW batch of leaves of there is steak involved:)

And now for a quick Ciara update - all is going pretty well.  No new nasty visits from the evil monster.  The meds do make her sleepy AND very hungry.  But we can deal with THAT!!!  The cold weather has brought on the zoomies outside here, and she overdid it over the weekend.  She has had a bit of a gimpy back leg.  Nothing too bad, but definitely worth watching.

Hey, I am doing just fine, now hand over the treats, please:)

Woos - Phantom, Ciara, and Lightning

  9. It is frigid here too, however it got up to 33 today so we were able to go on a 2 mile walk in the neighborhood. Good news for your girl. I know you Sibes love being outside when it's cold-so enjoy.

Phantom, the Mom here knows just how your Mom feels, our doggie can't hear well either and so the Mom has to show Ande where she is.

  13. I'm so glad about Ciara! My meds to prevent migraines make me sleepy too so I can relate!

I'm glad that Phantom is enjoying the winter temps. My trainer mentioned to me the other day that someone has invented a remote vibrating collar for getting the attention of deaf dogs. I had the same issue with our yellow lab, S, who went deaf late in life. I would've loved a vibrating collar to get him to look at me. (you train them by vibrating the collar and then giving a treat. Repeat many times, and you'll have a dog who looks for you when their collar vibrates.)

I sure hope that your sweet boy gets a steak for his birthday. My dogs say that they should get a steak for Phantom's birthday too :)

  21. That nice soft bed isn't such a bad deal is it?! Tee Hee...you do look comfy and it cushions the old bones nicely. I may break down and use my bed one of these days too.....SO happy to hear Ciara hasn't been visited by the seizure-monster again. That's GOOD news!

    Hugs, Sammy

  23. We hope Ciara continues to be well. Joey dog doesn't hear very well either, but that's kind of a common thing that happens when cocker spaniels get older. It doesn't bother him a bit, but sometimes Mom and Dad have to go out to him and let him know it's time to come in.

  24. Well... I'm not a doctor, but I DO think more treats are in order! :) Glad there have been no more seizures --- and isn't it GREAT out there?!!?
