Thankful Thursday

Ciara kept trying to tell us for the past two days that those nasty storms were headed our way.

AND she was right, but fortunately for us, they developed a mere 19 miles from our home.  Lee's Summit, MO had some pretty nasty stuff touch down.   Lee's Summit is located just on the other side of the Kansas/Missouri state line from where we live.  We are very thankful we dodged that bullet again, but we are sorry that a lot of people weren't so lucky.  Lots of damage to businesses and vehicles and power outages too, but thankfully no serious injuries.  Ciara has her paws crossed the cleanup goes well and those storms just dissipate with no more damage.

We did an early morning survey of the Siberian kingdom to be sure all was still in order.  We have a great view from the top of the deck stairs.

Things are looking just fine - except for that pesky cute little bunny who keeps invading visiting our territory.

Guess it is time for us to move back inside to see if we can con Mom into have some turkey jerky to celebrate our thankfulness.

The thunder started at midnight and lasted till 7 this morning. As you can guess I didn't get much sleep. Now it's hot and muggy outside and I think I just heard thunder in the distance. Glad you're all safe.

Mommy used to have a nephew in Lee's Summit, and since Mommy grew up in Farley, she knows exactly where that is!
Crossing paws you don't have any of those nasty tornadoes mess your neighborhood up!

So Ciara has taken over from Phantom as the storm advisor? He must have taught her everything. Glad the storm missed you. Enjoy the airconditioning and hopefully, turkey jerky.

Maybe dogs are like migraine patients. They, too, can predict storms ahead of time.

Wow! You were lucky! We've had tornadoes touch down a couple counties over in the past month. (We hardly ever have weather like that!) Glad no one was badly injured.

I'm glad you dodged that one but I'm sorry such bad storms keep happening. I'm also glad that Ciara got through it okay.

You two look so noble surveying your kingdom!
