Boxed in on Wednesday

This seems like the week for boxes to arrive at our door.  Yesterday we received TWO boxes from Chewy.com.  We will tell you all about one of them tomorrow.  In the other box which you will see below, our kibble delivery from Chewy.com showed up.  Mom emptied the box OUTSIDE and brought all the goodies into the garage from the outside door. SHE says it was because the box is too heavy for her to carry, but if she unloads it piece by piece, it is more manageable.  We say she was just hiding all the treats from US.

SEE - nothing in there.  Then Mom decided to use this box as a learning experience for Lightning.  As you may recall, this silly boy has so many things he won't go near, like boxes, bikes, bags floating on the street, balloons, and just plain old trash on the streets.  This was the first time he actually was willing to sit near a box.  So let's see how this lesson goes.

A very puzzled pup - he can smell something tasty but he can't see anything at all.

"What's up with this box, Mom?  There is nothing in there.  And NO, I am NOT getting IN the box, even though I know a lot of my kitty pals and even a few of our pup pals are willing to hop right in.  You are very lucky I haven't fled to the kitchen."

"Oh, so NOW you stick one measly Cheerio in there, and you think THAT is going to lure me in???"

"And THEN you raised the ante to a few more of those dry round O's - NOT!!!  You are going to have to do a lot more bribing before you see me put my head in there, never mind my whole body."

"Well, maybe I will give it a try just this once:)"

Ciara has joined Lightning now next to the box.  Wonder why?

"That's because I know that Mom actually has some rabbit jerky in her human paws:)  And just in case you were wondering - I am NOT getting in that box either:)"

Mom decided to quit while she was ahead - she is thrilled to see Lightning any where near that box.

We are both off to spend a day at the spa while the carpets have their own spa treatment.  When we get home, we will be all set to begin anew to spread our furs everywhere.

  1. it seems you got a box with invisible treats.... hey that could be interesting... I bet that treats have zero calories and you can eat as much as you want :o) Have a suüer Spa-Day and a giant piece of that rabbit jerky when you are back :o)

  3. Too funny Lightning, just one cherrio. But good boy for putting your head in the box. Ciara, you will take those treats, won't you. Can't wait to see you two Woos all clean etc. But you will have to get your furs back on the carpet. You all have a great day.

  7. Lightning, you don't know what you're missing - boxes are pawesome! We don't even need treats to go inside them although that would be nice!

  8. You keep up your insecurity around the box and I bet rabbit jerkey will end up in there. I think it is totally acceptable for you to stay away from all those things. We really need to get our carpets cleaned too-before winter. The other day one of Hunter's buddies was over and lifted his leg in the office. His mom was mortified, but I'm sure another dog did it first.
Hope you have fun at the spa tomorrow.

  9. Well, I certainly know someone who would jump in there whole-heartedly, Cheerios or no Cheerios!!! Lightning, we're proud of you for not being afraid by the box! And Ciara, my twin, I'm SO proud of you for posing so sweetly beside it ... while refusing to go it. Honestly, I think we really are twins!!!

  10. Lightening I had no idea woo were as crackers as Loki! I remember teaching him to get into his crate, he eventually loved it but he would need lots and lots of AMAZING treats to get in, in the beginning! Woo have to milk this for all the treats you can.

  11. Cheerios??? Really??? To gets in the box???? Pfffft! Do peeps really thinks we're that gullible??? It'll take at LEAST some freeze-dried chickens or some fishy jerky or some margaritas to even GETS any puppers to thinks about that! (okays, that's not true..I likes tearin' up boxes as well as the next doggie, butts I thought this would be a good time for a Training Lesson for the peeps...☺)
    Hopes you got some jerky...yummers!

  12. Angel Sasha loved a good box to sleep in. I am not so sure about them yet. I like to keep moving and not be all boxed up. I think Margaret Thatcher would have jumped right in

  13. Shiver is very much the same way. He gets anxious if something new is brought into the house that he isn't used to, or even if the furniture is moved around. He'll eventually get near boxes if it's been in the house for awhile. Chico is pretty laid back, not much seems to bother him.

This reminds me that I need to do my Chewy review soon.

  16. Ha! This post made us smile!! Chloe is very much like Lightning...she is curious...yet, cautious and a bit afraid of things!

LadyBug, on the other hand, thinks that having her very own bowl of Cheerios (with her Dad) every morning is quite the treat!!
