Serene Sunday with the Buttie Pillars

Happy Sunday to all of you!

We wanted to make your Sunday feel a bit serene by sharing the photos Mom took when she visited the butterfly exhibit at Powell Gardens last week.

Mom isn't very good at remembering what each of the buttie pillars is named, but maybe Princess Leah can help us - she knows all about buttie pillars.

Isn't she pretty?

This one is certainly interesting.

 And this one too.

Mom loved the blue ones - they were flying all around the building but too fast to catch on video.

At first we thought this was a fish, but the butterfly was just closed.

Here is a close up of that "eye".

Such unique markings on this one.

Coming out of the cocoon.

This time Mom remembered to include the label.

All the flowers there were beautiful too. They were selling a bunch of different milkweed plants that attract butterflies.

This one was hiding behind the lovely flowers.

More of the blues.

And one more blue one.

Hey, wait a minute, THIS is NOT a butterfly!!!

Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest butterfly of all?

It's Miss C, of course.
We think she makes a lovely butterfly.

Miss C was the lucky one who got to go to the exhibit with Mom.  Her brother and sister were off doing other things.  But maybe they will all go back next weekend if the weather cooperates.

The buttie pillars loved her too - they wouldn't land on Mom but they were all over Miss C.

Tickle, tickle.

Maybe they didn't like Mom because she wouldn't let the caterpillars do this to her, but Miss C. loves bugs!!!

Now whoever heard of a caterpillar bush?

It might be fun to chase and catch those buttie pillars, but I think it is more fun to catch chase rabbits.

Yes, those buttie pillars are really beautiful.  I just wish they would fly over me and take away the evil monster who struck again over the weekend:(

It wasn't much fun at all, and I have been very sleepy since it hit me.

Thank dogness for comfy beds to rest on.

And ME - I have been taking good care of my sweet sister Ciara by sticking right by her side.

Hope you enjoyed our butterfly serenity - now go have a beautiful day!

Woos - Ciara and Lightning

  19. Oh just look at all those beautiful buttie pillars!!!!! I is jumping up and down wiv excitments. Now let me see there's a Monarch, I luffs them! The pretty blue ones are Morpho's, they's actually brown but use light refractions to shine blue...clever pillars. The long tailed pale one I'd call an Indian Moon Moftie, the yellow one is the African Moon Moftie. The eye one wings closed is an Owl Buttie Pillar and with the wings open is a Buckeye Pillar. So many and sooo beautiful
