A Not-So-Terrific-Tuesday

The evil monster came back again.  not once, but twice during the night.  First at 12:30, and then again at 5:25.  No one got much sleep here.

Wishing I knew how to banish him forever.

Mom says I am very restless now.

I can't seem to find a spot to relax. I went from the loveseat to my cubby.

And then under my table.  Lightning is right here with me.

Then to the big sofa.
Then I wanted outside. Then inside.

And finally back to my cubby - hopeful for some rest.  I sure hope I am done for the day.

From Mom:  I keep watching for those signs of an impending seizure.  Last night I missed one.  She and Lightning had been out for their last potty break around 9:00 as they typically do.  Around 10:00, my husband hollered up to me that she was wanting to go outside.  I told him no because then Lightning would go as well.  He is not very easy to get back inside when it is cool outside and all the night critters are out prowling around.  That should have been a clue to me that something was up.  Poor thing must have been sleeping under the kitchen table for protection as she flipped one chair and moved two others totally out of position when the first seizure hit.  Right before the second one, I heard her let out one bark, trying to get my attention (I was still sleeping).  I knew immediately what was coming.  Before my feet hit the floor she was in full seizure mode again.  That makes three in ten days.  Time for another conversation with the neurologist.

Woos - Ciara

  6. That is scary,my first Bunny would have seizures,I was always worried the next one would be the one where he wouldn't make it and in the end his last one did come and I had to help him cross the rainbow bridge.when a rabbit has seizures its much harder on them because of their metabolism being so fast that each one could be fatal as it shuts down their internal organs.Dogs are so much more resilient and better able to cope with them.I am sure your neurologist will find away to help Ciara,we shall keep her in our prayers, xxx Rachel and Speedy

  27. I'm so sorry. I agree with you - it sounds like time for a conversation with the neurologist. I know that lots of people make phenobarb sound awful as a seizure med due to side effects. However, our experience with our seizure dog was that the side effects really were not too bad. So, if your neurologist suggests trying it, it might be worth trying since our experience says that at least one dog in the universe didn't have bad side effects.

I know how upsetting this must be to you. Lots of hugs to you.

  36. Oh Ciara....I'm so sorry - TWO monster visits is TWICE as awful. I'm like all your other friends; if there was a way I could wave a magic wand and banish that monster forever and a day I would. It makes me sad that you and your family have to go through that scariness. I'm sure it must be confusing. Maybe your Mom can talk to your doctor about it now that you're having MORE seizures to see if something NEW can help.

I'm sending you tons of POTP and hugs........
    Love, Sammy
