Sunday Sharing

As we count down the days to Christmas, we thought we would share with you today one of Mom's favorite Christmas collections.  It is behind us on the dining room table in full display.

This is Mom's Dept. 56 collection of the Twelve Days of Christmas.  Most of the "days" were gifts from her children.  Let's take a closer look.

The Twelve Days of Christmas

On the first day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
A Partridge in a Pear Tree

On the second day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
2 Turtle Doves

On the third day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
3 French Hens

On the fourth day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
4 Calling Birds

On the fifth day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
5 Golden Rings

On the sixth day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
6 Geese a Laying

On the seventh day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
7 Swans a Swimming

On the eighth day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
8 Maids a Milking

On the ninth day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
9 Ladies Dancing

On the tenth day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
10 Lords a Leaping

On the eleventh day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
11 Pipers Piping

On the twelfth day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
12 Drummers Drumming

And if you put it all together, here is what you have.  Shall we all sing together?

On the twelfth day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
12 Drummers Drumming
11 Pipers Piping
10 Lords a Leaping
9 Ladies Dancing
8 Maids a Milking
7 Swans a Swimming
6 Geese a Laying
5 Golden Rings
4 Calling Birds
3 French Hens
2 Turtle Doves
and a Partridge in a Pear Tree

In the center of the display we have this 15 inch tall glass Santa.  It is a handpainted blown glass piece by Thomas Pacconi.  There are so many beautiful details in this treasure.  It is one of Mom's favorite Christmas Santas.

Our Sunday Selfie

We just want to add that we think the Twelve Days of Christmas needs one more verse that brings lots and lots of SNOW to all who love it - like US!!!

We hope you enjoyed seeing a little more of how our home is decorated for Christmas.  The next two weeks are going to be very busy for all of us.  Our human brother and family will be visiting for Christmas.  It seems like our house is the main gathering place for all the family fun.  Our two human sisters and families, who live in our area, will be here all the time too.  That makes Mom and Dad, their three kids and spouses, and the SIX grandchildren who range in age from 6 to almost 12 - that makes 14 Peeps and 2 Furries (Santa, can you please one more furry?).  We have so much fun with everyone but it doesn't leave us a lot of time to post and to visit.  We will do our best, but know that even if you don't "see" us, you are still all in our hearts that are filled with wonderful holiday wishes for you.

  16. Wow, what an incredible collection! That's very special. Now that I have the song in my head, when I was reading all the people coming to your house to visit, I could almost sing the 12 Days of Christmas using all your family members. Grandparents, Children, Spouses and Grandchildren. Don't forget "And a new puppy in a pear tree!"

  21. So beautiful! Thank you for sharing, I loved it and can see why your mom does too.

We've got some snow here that I wish I could send your way. Most of it's melted in the front yard from the rain, but we still have some in the back yard.
