This is for the birds!!!

I spy with my blue and brown eyes something fun up there!

Wonder if it is for us?

Maybe I can take a little nibble.

Or maybe a bigger bite:)

I wouldn't do that, Lightning.  Don't look now but some Momster is watching.

SHE says it is just a photo prop - and not for destructive jaws of steel.

So what do we do NOW, Ciara?

Just pose nicely, Lightning, and maybe we can at least get some tasty rewards for putting up with this tease of a Mom.

Woos - Ciara and Lightning

Note from the mean Momster: This was Thunder's favorite toy.  He would carry a bird around in his mouth all the while trying to woo a big song without dropping the bird. He never destroyed his birdies, but let me assure you that the birdies and their house will be in shreds in five minutes if I let these two have their way.

  3. It is for sure a beautiful toy. Thunder was one of those pups who could carry a balloon w/o popping it. A gentle soul for sure.

ps, I use Prismacolor Premier pencils for my colouring book but I have seen some great Youtube videos where they are using Derwent Inktense with a very small amount of water in a waterbrush (which I'm quite scared of doing in case the pages warp) but thinking of having a go with them as they look fantastic!

  7. Ph Ciara and Lightning, that was Thunder's toy so don't destroy it. It brings back great memories of Thunder. Sounds like he was such a good dog. That is a good looking toy.

  11. Hi - I just read your comment with the food question. Yes, you do need to reduce the dry food a bit when adding the Raw Boost Mixers. We tend to give Ruby just a topper (maybe 10 little mixers) added into her dry food. We also give them as treats and rewards. She likes them very much. They do come in little sample bags ($1.99 at Petsmart) if you want to try them and see if they like them.

  13. We love the birdies! Thunder was a sweetie for not destroying the birdies so now you can have it to remember him. Hugs to you.

  14. Moms always put away toys and stuffies that belonged to our angel brothers and sissies. They've very special and have to be treated with love and respect. You guys deserve lots of treats for being extra good!

  24. Psst guys... I think you might be 'in the dog house' if you de-stuff that toy... And I would never be able to give that to my dog, watching the poor birdies get tortured! My bleeding-heart extends to stuffed animals too! Haha!

  27. Our first reaction was that you guys should be allowed to play with that toy, but we reconsidered after reading your Mom's explanation. We can understand that she would want to preserve TD's favourite toy. Please bear with her!

  28. I keep the favorite toy of each of mine too. I do have a couple of destroyers, but mostly they just play nicely with their toys.

  29. I too have a squeaky toy that I'm not allowed to play (read: destroy) with. It looks like a beautiful cocker spaniel with really fluffy fur. I've been eyeing it for years, but it never comes down from its lofty perch!

  36. So glad you got to see and smell the stuffie; I understand why Mom would put it away quickly though. When I garage sale in the spring, I always look for stuffed animals in good shape for Hunter. Stay warm and have a great weekend!

  38. Aww, that's so sweet. Funny how we hang onto things isn't it? I saw an odd stick in the driveway and wondered why it was there... and just as quickly remembered it was Mabel's last stick at the creek. And a photo of her playing with it popped up on my screen. I felt like she was telling me to hang onto her stick!
