NOT Fun Friday

So Lightning has been explaining to me that I am going to have to endure a new experience for the next several days.  Mom and Dad have to go to Texas to watch one of the grands while his parents are out of the country.

Do any of you know what it means to go to camp?  Lightning says we are going in the car tomorrow to a place where we get to stay in a nice air-conditioned area, spend some time in the playroom, and have lots of time outside with our caretakers.  He tells me not to worry because he will take good care of me.  This all sounds mighty strange to me.  What do you think?

Hey, Mom - after hearing about this "camp", I think Lightning and I have a better idea.  Just tell Dad to buy two more airfares and we can come with you too.

Bummer, Mom says we will be a lot happier at camp than on an airplane:(  Please don't forget us while we are gone.  Mom says she will try to get some extra photos before she leaves so maybe she can do a few posts from Keller.  Meanwhile, can you all send some good thoughts to our Mom and Dad that their flight into the Dallas area goes smoothly.  Mom said something about "Harvey" making things a little challenging.  More confusion for this young pup - who is "Harvey"?

In an effort to console us, Mom said that she will definitely be making all of this confusion up to us in September when we are guaranteed to have a lot more fun at home.  Now what does that mean?  Sigh, life is just too confusing for this youngster.

Woos - Misty (and Lightning)

  1. That Harvey guy is throwing a wrench into a lot of plans! We pray your Mom and Dad will have safe travels, with no added challenges!
We've never been to camp, but I'm sure Lightning will take really good care of you. Just stick with him and everything will be fine.
As per September being a lot more fun ... WOW! I wonder what that means?!?!

  7. Ohhh, I hope you two have fun! I've never been to camp. I always stay at Grandma & Grandpa's or Auntie's house when Momma is gone, or someone comes to stay with us. But it sounds pretty pawesome.

Did you know Momma lived in Keller as a pup? She went to Keller Middle and High School. :)

  8. Your camp sounds a lot posher than ours. Ours is an outdoor camp. We never really mind going because we're allowed to bark as much as we want! It's always better if you have a brother or sister with you. So just enjoy yourselves.

  9. Barkley LOVED going to camp, and would get so excited to return. I stayed at my dog walkers house with her rescue Lab the one time both Mom and Dad had to be gone. My Mom checked the Pile-It weather source and it looks like just a chance of showers and though there might be a little turbulence on the descent to the airport the winds will be well within a safe limit for landing. Happy travels!

  13. If you want to see early what's happening with flight delays and cancellations in Texas, use this site. It's usually very accurate. Just click on the green symbol by DFW to get all of Texas flight delay information. http://www.fly.faa.gov/flyfaa/usmap.jsp

It won't tell you if a specific flight is canceled/delayed. For that, you can go to www.flightaware.com and type in your airline name and flight number. I call that "Flight Stalker" as that's how I track if my husband is going to be home on time after a business trip. :-) LB
