Thankful (???) Thursday

Once again we are joining Brian's Thankful Thursday bloghop, although Mom isn't so sure about all this thankfulness.

So as we told you yesterday, we are in a bit of a rainy spell here.  SomePup, and we don't mean Misty, doesn't like to get his feety feet wet.  So last night Mr. T. decided he was not going to cooperate on his last potty time for the night before being crated.  Mom did finally get him to pee, but as for the rest of his business, he was NOT doing it even though the Momster KNEW he had to go.

So when she got up this morning, here is what she found.  This is an almost accurate re-enactment of the scene because at 5:35 a.m., she was in no mood for snapping away with the flashy beast.

Yes, that would be me, Timber, in my crate with a couple of chews and my towel.  Now I wasn't really sitting like I am now when Mom saw me, I was way at the back of my crate asleep and curled up in a ball.  And that blue towel WAS right where you see it, also curled up in a ball.

So Mom thought I had been such a good boy to have kept my crate clean all night.  As you can imagine, she was very thankful for that.  She proceeded to take me, Misty, and Lightning outside (in the rain) for our first potty break of the day.  Once again, I only took care of part of my business, the wet part:) SHE couldn't understand why I wasn't pooping.  Surely she thought, he MUST have to go.

So back inside we all go, and Mom gets a very faint sniff of something not so pleasant for that hour of the morning.  See that towel again.  Well, I had been such a conscientious boy that I deposited what I hadn't done the night before ON the towel and then proceeded to roll it all up in a ball so I could still sleep in my crate.  What a good boy am I!!!  And Mom should be very thankful for that too.

For some reason, Mom didn't agree with my assessment.  Sheesh, here I thought she would be so thankful for my good housekeeping skills.

So I told HER that if she would just let me sleep out of the crate, that wouldn't have happened.

What do you mean - you don't think that's a very good idea???  Oh well, I am thankful you aren't too upset with me:)

Woos - Timber

  1. I can tell you firsthand that I've had problems pooing in the rain at times too, Timber, and I happen to think you were very creative disguising your load that way!

  4. Oh Timber, this is very exciting. You are part cat and covered up your mess. You are very cute but you must learn to go outside to do your business. We just hope the sun comes out soon for you. Have a good week end.

  5. Well I think you did a darn good job on the tidy up your crate thing Timber and that's a good reason to be thankful! Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

  7. Timber, trust me, soon enough you will be out of that crate, and being out in the rain and having great fun in the rain will be your most favorite thing to do -- I just know it!! ...Although Max is 7 years old, and he's still that way....hmmmmm.... :-)!!

  8. We think that if you learn to go outside when your mom wants you to you might get to spend the night out of your crate. You did do a good job of covering it up though.

  9. I know you should have pooped outside but on the other hand you did clean it up. I would have to say it was a break even morning. You made a mess but you cleaned it up

  10. Dude, I TOTALLY GETS IT! I HATES gettin' my feeties wet! HATES IT! I hates gettin' my furs wet too, butts that's another story for another time....
I thinks you did a pawsome job of housekeepin'. period. I don't see a problem. none. Tell your Moms she is lucky you didn't poopie in the middle of the crate and step in it and spread it around like PB! THEN, step out of the crate and track, said PB, all overs the house! um...not that that EVER happened......really....☺
I say your Moms SHOULD be thankful! just sayin'...
(oh, and maybe you should tolerate the wet paws just so you can do your business...it makes the peeps happy...and you gets TREATS!)
    Kisses,
    Auntie Ruby ♥

  11. That is a super reenactment, and we see your point of view Timber. If you hadn't been such a good housekeeper, you might have been covered in poop. Then your mom would have been VERY unhappy. Good job, buddy!

  13. Don't worry - I'm with you!
There's no way I'd want to go in the rain when I had a perfectly good crate or towel to use! And your mum should be grateful you folded that towel so neatly!
Lots of licks, your good friend Morrie :)

  14. Better get used to the rain Timber. Last winter we had lots of it. You get high marks for neatness, but in these situations peeps prefer that you take care of your business outside. There sure are a lot of things to learn when you're a puppy.

  15. Our Miss Ginger hated to get her feet wet, even if it was only dew on the grass. Joey dog didn't like to get his feet dirty and always licked them clean. I don't care about rain, unless it's literally pounding down.

  16. You tidied up everything and she was still not happy? Maybe your mom is hard to please?

  17. HaHa, Timber! We immediately guessed as soon as we saw the rolled-up towel. Actually, we think it was pretty impressive that you "processed" the output elegantly like that!

I personally have to agree with you on the crate thing. Before she got me, several friends told #1 she had to get a crate for me, blahblahhblah. So, she did. I did OK the first night. The second night, I howled all night and shredded the pillows she had foolishly placed in there. So, she and I had a long chat and I promised I would be an extra good boy if she didn't put me back in there. Since then, I have slept at the foot of her bed, right by her.

    Woofs,
    Tommy

  18. Timber you are indeed a CLEVER and THOUGHTFUL woofie! That was so polite of you to wrap up you poop in the blanket! When Dakota was still using his crate, I woke up to a horrific situation once. There was poop EVERYWHERE! EVERYWHERE (outside of the crate and Dakota was IN the crate). I never found out how it happened, I was crying cleaning it up, it was EVERYWHERE. All I could think of is that it had happened at night BEFORE I put him in the crate and I hadn't seen it.....or smelled it.........and that it was possible our cat had spread it all over (but the cat had no poop on him), that was 10 yrs ago and I still have no clue how it happened! 21. Well Tiber at least you didn't need a bath at 5:30.
    That would just be wrong.

  22. UHOH....Well Timber I must say that you treated your blue blankie much like I treat my litter in my litterbox! Bury and hide and that's that! I'm sure your Mom is hoping that you will decide that getting wet feet while doing your ENTIRE business outside is preferable to getting in trouble!!

    Hugs, Teddy
