Thankful Thursday

We are starting to get a little Santa paranoid here.  Yesterday you saw ALL those Santa eyes watching us, and now LOOK - there are more up there on the piano.

We sure need to be very careful about being good.  We want to stay on Santa's nice list.

Today is Brian's Thankful Thursday Bloghop.

So today we are going to let Mom have a few words because she says our family has a very big reason to be thankful.

Thank you, Lightning, Misty, and Timber.  So dear readers, a few weeks ago we mentioned on a post that a family member had received some very serious medical news.  It has been a very difficult and anxiety-filled time for all of us.  One of our daughters has been diagnosed with breast cancer.  It has taken a few weeks to get through all the initial testing, all the while trying to digest all the dire ramifications of this news.  Although she still faces a tough road ahead, we have finally received some encouraging news.  The cancer has been caught very early, does not appear to have moved to the lymph nodes, and is relatively small.  Without getting into a lot of details, suffice it to say that she will be facing major surgery in the near future and most likely radiation after.  Recovery will be a tough period of time, but we are beyond happy to see that there IS a much brighter light at the end of the road.  The date of the surgery is still being finalized, but it will be sooner rather than later, possibly before Christmas.  A few of you have walked this road with us the past few weeks, and we are so very thankful for all the prayers and the POTP offered by them and by those of you who may not have known the whole story but still cared enough to pray and think of us.  The POTP, POP (power of prayer), and LFF (love from friends) is just amazing.  We can't say THANK YOU enough.  Unfortunately, our presence here on our blog and comments of your blogs will likely be very sporadic, although I will do my best to post when I can.  I expect to be very busy helping our daughter and her husband and the three children, K and twins J and C, who often appear here on the blog.  For now things should be pretty normal, but we expect life to change quickly.  We know you will all understand and we thank you for that.  Please keep those prayers coming and all POTP is always most appreciated.

We pups want to echo Mom's thoughts - thanks to all our pals for your love and support.

Woos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber, and Mom too

  2. Better check and see if those Santas have cameras or are wired for sound! On the other topic, we are sorry to hear about daughter but delighted that it was caught early. The journey will be a rough one but keep the faith that she will make it through and enjoy a long, healthy life.

  12. POTP to your daughter and you. I had surgery and radiation for breast cancer in 2007. It was very traumatic but I am healthy and have been cancer free for nearly a decade. I pray your daughter is as fortunate as I was. We love all of you

  18. Well I'm sure that was very devastating news to hear from your daughter initially but it ALSO sounds like she is addressing everything quickly and the fact it's a small area and NOT in her lymph nodes is excellent news. I'm sure you will be super busy helping with the kids and the whole family's care but update us when you can - because we LOVE ALL OF YOU and care deeply for you and your family. We will be praying and sending POTP to EVERYONE.

    Love, Pam and Teddy too
