Thankful Thursday:)

Let's join Brian today for the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop, and let's do it with a little humor:)

As we may have mentioned before, Mr. Timber was "puppy pee pad" trained.  That is a great method for SOME pups.  But Timber decided very early on that anything on the floor that was rectangular in shape and fairly flat HAD to be a pee pad.  Despite the fact that he "knew" to take care of business outside, he would inevitably hit the doormat at the backdoor, the scatter runners Mom has in the kitchen to prevent us from sliding on the hardwood when we get a little excited, the mat in front of the kitchen sink, AND the comfy beds that Lightning and Misty love, even the big coolaroo bed.  So Mom had to remove ALL the rectangles from the kitchen where we spend most of our time.

Over the past couple of months, Mom has slowly been adding the mats back to the decor.  The beds would only appear at bedtime when Timber was safely tucked away in his crate.  We are all so very thankful to announce that . . . . .

Timber has found a much better way to enjoy our beds:)

Lightning adds that he is thankful to have a dry and clean cot to snooze on too.  But he is kind enough to leave enough space for one or the other of the pups to join him.

Sometimes small reasons to be thankful can really be big things.

Note from the Momster: Timber has actually been fully potty trained for a couple of months, but we just got around to sharing our thanks:)

Woos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber

  1. That is indeed a relief! It's a long time ago now but potty-training me was a tough and long job, and our #1 remembers taking me out in the middle of the night, in the middle of winter, every single night! It's all a little fuzzy in my memory!

    Woofs,

BOL... this is timely, as I listened to a radio show yesterday where mothers were lamenting getting their kids potty trained! Not something I have ever had to deal with; Jade Dog was trained on newspapers, so if it wasn't dry and crackly, there was no problem. She was actually really quick to get the gist of door-signal and out to grass. Congrats, Timber, on reaching this maturity! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  4. Timbfer, too funny, you were just trying to do the right thing. Bet the Mom was scratching her head over that one. Glad you learned how to be a good boy. It is so hard growing up and figuring everything out. You all have a most wonderful day.

  11. We're glad to hear that Timber is now fully potty trained to do all his business outside so you can have all your "rectangles" back where they belong.

  14. LOL! I would have never thought that the rectangles on the floor would pass for a puppy pad.

Always a good thing when potty training is over!

  16. River was trained on pee pads too. She likes to put her front paws on the pad and leave her back end off when she pees
