Spitty Saturday

That's and odd title, isn't it?  Well, just imagine that the second letter in the first word is not a "P", and stick in there the 8th letter of the alphabet. Then you will get the picture.

As my photo attests, I am NOT a happy camper.  I want this cone OFF, but when Mom tries to give me some "cone-freedom" time, I immediately start licking:(  So back on it goes.  This whole deal is making me very depressed. But it gets worse, and so that is the reason for the title of our post.  It seems like I have something called a-cute stress-related co-Light-us.  I don't know what that means but Mom says it sure makes for a big mess for her.  "IT" has been going on since I got home on Wednesday from that new-turd thingie.  After trying things the vet tech's way, Mom finally convinced the V.E.T. today that I need something other than pumpkin and plain yogurt.  The very nice Dr. B. told Mom that my system is having an acute reaction to the surgery and anesthesia, and I need some fancy schmancy medicine called metronidazole.  It is pretty bitter-tasting, but Mom put it in some peanut butter for me.  She is hoping for a cleaner kitchen when she gets up tomorrow.  Aside from that, I am doing great.  I just want to shed this lampshade asap.

Thankfully, my big brother and sister (who is terrified of my cone) are right here by my side.  Well, Misty is keeping a little distance between her and my cone, but they are both very comforting to me.

Woos - Timber (Lightning and Misty too)

  2. That literally stinks. Pocket suffers from colitis but Pocket makes little poops. The yogurt has helped her a lot. Be careful with the pumpkin. If you give too much it can make it worse. Pocket once pooped nothing but orange. It was freaky. We hope the medicine work and you are feeling better soon

  7. Oh no, Timber. That's no fun at all. Both the cone and the upset GI tract does make for a spitty (ha ha) Saturday. Shyla had that continuously for her first months with us because everything scared her. I hope that the metronitozole helps! Sending POTP!

  12. Oh gosh, we know all about stress-induced colitis. Pip used to get it several times a year and it is not fun for anyone. Ugh. Sending healing and calming thoughts!

Thank you for your kind words on my post! I so appreciate that you always take time to read my posts and leave such supportive comments. When I was in my twenties I always wanted to write, but life got in the way. The last few years I have returned to writing. It may be part of my midlife crisis. LOL! But I now have some actual paid freelance writing work and I am so grateful and excited. XOXO

  13. Our Mom sympathizes. Noah has chronic colitis. Just when she thinks she has it under control, it flares up again. If you need more ideas on treatment, let her know.

  14. Ghostwriter says when I had this operation, I was a royal pain. They tried bigger and bigger cones to keep me from licking. When I finally couldn't reach it anymore, I scooched my butt instead! I had to be watched 24/7! We all hope you feel better real soon, Timber.

  16. Oh, no! We were hoping it meant you were getting some of the alleged rain we were supposed to get. We are still bone dry here.
We are so sorry about the stress-induced colitis! Metronidazole can do WONDERS -- and quickly. We sure hope it works well for you. I used to get stress-induced colitis -- as did my great sister Amber. I do what she used to -- Mom gives me one Metamucil wafer in the morning with breakfast. Actually now they just call it "Meta" wafers. The apple cinnamon kind. They help keep me regular, without straining. I know -- TMI, right? But it helps. Or you could sprinkle psyllium on your food, but I like those apple cookies!!!!
    Please feel better, little one!
    Cammie!

  18. Poor Timber....Mom would call that a very unpolite word (the squirtz) but whatever it's called it's no fun for you OR for your Momster so take your meds and I just bet it will be GONE before that cone is! I'm sending you some POTP and even though it's "kitty POTP" it works the same on ALL OF US!

    Love, Teddy

  19. Oh buddy! I understand completely. I had colitis when I was first rescued. I pooped blood in my rescuer's car and skeered her to pieces!! It cleared up quickly, though. We hope you're feeling better by now.

  21. Now I know what was happening with Timber. One of our pups year ago-Sadie had that after the tornado. It is so awful; I'm thankful you got the right med to help.
