My Little Secret

I have a secret - shhhhh!!!

Misty and Lightning don't know my secret.  If you come close and promise not to tell them, I will share my secret with you.

I am too skinny, or so the Momster says.  We all get fed twice a day, at or about 6:00 a.m. and at or about 5:00 p.m.  Every now and then Mom catches me having the horka horka right before dinner - and I hack up a small pile of bile.  She says I am like Angel Phantom in so many ways, this being one of them.  She is hoping I am not going to be prone to pancreatitis like he was, but she thinks my tummy doesn't like to be empty.  So now for my secret - I get a small bowl of kibble at lunchtime out on the deck all by myself.  Mom thinks this might help stop the horka horka thingie if I get something in my tummy midday.  I ate it up so quickly that Mom couldn't get a pic of me eating.  Remember it is a secret - hush hush!!!

And Mom, while you are busy there snapping photos, how about adding a bit more to my very small bowl? After all I AM a growing boy!!!

Don't let Timber make you think we don't know something is going on - we can smell kibble on his breath!!!  But as long as Mom doubles up on our "nice posing" treats, we will be OK.

Woos - Timber (and Misty and Lightning)

  8. That bile thing happens around here with Rosy...and it also happened with Angel's Dory and Bilbo...so Mama gives us small meals through out the day....Unfortunately a certain Shih Tzu(Arty) is getting a little chubsy wubsy, and Mama is having to rethink things....

  11. That's why we get yogurt at bedtime. Porties vomit up yellow bile if our tummies go empty. Mom doesn't like hearing that sound in the early morning hours, so she makes sure we have our bedtime snack.

  12. Abby was super skinny when we got her and didn't gain weight like we hoped for. We found feeding her grain free food (Blue Buffalo) and giving her a 1/4 to a 1/3 cup of yogurt (vanilla, sweetened only with sugar, not sugar substitutes which can be deadly for pups) every evening a couple hours after her kibble really improved her digestion and she's at a healthy weight now.

  19. This is the exact same thing that Pierre does!!! I feed them at about the same times you do but it is the mornings that make his tummy grumbly. I changed back to Dr. Harvey's Canine Health and cut out fish. His tummy is doing much better. I still give them both a little something when they get me up at 5:00 a.m. to pee. That seems to hold him until breakfast.

  26. Your secret's safe with us! Guess what? I get the horka hork in the morning if I don't get a bedtime snack and a piece of cheese. Oh. And there's something about Mom putting a Pepcid in the cheese, but I couldn't care less about that part. I just like the CHEESE! Maggie gets a placebo in her cheese! We also get fed three very small meals a day, which helps, too --- but Mom said not everyone can fit that into busy schedules.
