Woos on Wednesday

So here I am back again with another happy smile.

As long as I keep getting those happy pills, I am hanging in there.  Life as Lightning has changed a lot over the past couple of weeks.  And Mom says it is likely to be a permanent change.  I am now forever banned from running!!!  What?????  I am a Siberian Husky!!!  I was born to run!!!  But sadly my bad back knees are not going to allow any more zoomies or rambunctious Siberian fun.  There will be no surgery this time.  Braces as an option is a no-go.  Over time, there is some slim hope that my knee joint will get surrounded with scar tissue that will help stabilize the joint.  Hey, slim is better than nothing, right?

Mom and I now spend a lot of time together, just me and her, tethered to each other, walking the yard, up and down the street for a few houses, and sitting on the deck.  Sounds like a blast, doesn't it?  NOT!!!  But I am going to make the best of it and keep smiling for as long as I can.

At least I have my two pals who keep trying to get me to play with them.  If Mom would just give in, I would love to get out in the yard with them.  A guy can dream, can't he?

As you can imagine, Mom isn't feeling all that happy these days - maybe she needs some of my happy pills too.  We hope we can convince her to do a better job as our secretary.

  1. Oh Lightening, you are a brave pup, keeping smiling, but this is rough. Rough on your Mom to. Why not go up to her gently now and give her a fond rub?

  3. Dear sweet WooFriends
First of all this is a lot of adjustment for everyone. I can 10000% understand how Mom feels having to confine you to no Siberian Sillies and Zoomies. Golly gee I'm gonna hope and pray for that SLIM chance to turn into a real live FACT. I say hip hip hooray for scar tissue.
You have the happiest sweetest Siberian Smile Lightning and you are very very
lucky to have your baby bro and sissy and your sweet Mom and what a happy set of couch pillows.
As always sending hugs and loads of healing prayers to you all

  11. Oh Lightning we know it is hard when your body just won't do what you want it too. I will keep my paws crossed that you can improve as much as possible. Mom was wondering if you might benefit from a set of wheels to support your back legs and help your mobility for walking?
    just a thought

  17. Oh Lightning we are sorry to hear you may not get back to your old self and be able to play but your mom is doing the right thing for you. We don't think it would be so bad to spend more time with our mom or dad so just drink in all the attention you get. Cheers to your mom for doing all she can to help you too.

  21. You know Lightning ... someone much smarter than me once said, "smile and the whole world smiles with you", so I think you're on the right path with your
big and beautiful smiles! And keep it up, and soon it will rub off on your
Momster, too! Personally, we think running may be over-rated and we won't
be running much either pretty soon ...

  25. Lightning, you are going through some changes that aren't all that much fun for sure BUT you are the leader of your pack and everyone loves you and is looking out for you. Just relax and enjoy being "The King" - enjoy the walks with Mom and remember that ALL of us slow down a little over time. Be patient with your Mom because these changes are not easy on her either!!

    Love, Teddy
