More on THE SPOT

So are you still wondering about that spot on my forehead?

Do you think this has anything to do with it?

Or maybe this?

Or how about this one?

Well, since my paws were pretty clean, I don't think so. It was really due to something quite tasty.

Ha rooo rooooooooooooo!!!

And look what Checkers gave us:

“This award is presented to those dog bloggers out there who know the meaning of GREATNESS. Their blogs are consistently interesting, funny, or informative. Their KINDNESS is extended to others without expectation of it’s return, and their FRIENDSHIP inspires others to do EXTRAORDINARY things. These are the blogs you can’t wait to read everyday. In short, they are AWE-INSPIRING, full of wonder, and simply PAWsome!Pass this award on to others who you feel exemplify a “Paw”some Blog, and leave a note saying why you think they deserve the Pawsome Award!”

Isn't it just wonderful? Thanks, Checkers. If you don't know Checkers, please stop over and pay a visit. And if you are reading this, then we think you must deserve to display this award too - please take it with our pleasure.

Birthday Presents

Yesterday was such a great day. It is a lot of fun turning THREE. The cake and the cookies were super-delicious. I only wish I could have shared them with all of you. And we still have that big bone we got from Steve and Kat!!! So if you can get here, c'mon over and we can have a big pawty.

Now for my presents.

Can I look now, Mom? I really wish you had wrapped them
so I could tear the paper.

Hmmmm, looks like an interesting mix.

Sniff, sniff, doesn't smell much like roadkill to me. Mom says each of those blocks squeaks. I can't wait to test it.

Hey, Mr. Green Frog, do you know what happened to my Friday Friend Tony the Turtle?

Hey Squirrel Patrol, what do you make of all this loot?

Mom, I thought this was a G-rated blog???

I don't know if I can look.

I'm trying to sneak a peek.

Oh my, I am so embarrassed, I just can't look.

Here are a few closeup views:

Look at that tongue!!!

So what do you think? I'd say I made out pretty well.
Thanks, Mom and Dad, I love you.

But for right now, can I just play with my old chewed-up bone?
(Mom keeps asking me how I got that dirty spot on my face -
shhhhhh, don't tell her what I was doing outside.)

We have a Birthday Boy

Today is Thunder's third birthday - Happy Birthday, little brother!!!

Look what they did to me!

I am NOT looking at you again.

If I do this, will you take it off, please?

My cake and a special treat for each of us. For some strange reason, Mom says the clown cone is mine, the cannoli is Phantom's, and the butterfly is for Dakota.

Yes, we can share the cake, some for each of us, but the biggest piece for me because it is MY birthday. Yes, THAT too, I AM the biggest!

Can I have some yet?

Don't worry, I won't eat it yet. I am just sniffing it!

Mom says it is really hard to get all three of us in the same picture. Here you can see that Dakota didn't waste any time
getting her piece off the plate.

Here she is cleaning up her crumbs.

Here's how the boys started their pieces.

Phantom know his manners (most of the time).

But what happened to the Birthday Boy? Where did HE go?

He thinks he needs to eat at the table, or should we say UNDER the table - safe from any other pups.

I guess it wasn't so bad after all. (wink wink) Tomorrow I will share with you all the wonderful presents I got. It really has been a lot of fun turning THREE!!!

Mystery Revealed

Do you know these pups and kitty?

Yes, it is our good furiends Kat, Wilbur, and Steve. Kat is Thunder's girl friend, Steve is one of Khyra's heartthrobs, and Wilbur is, well, you know. Wilbur is the cat:) The Washington Woos are all still in Washington but they did send the next best thing to visit us - their MOM Valerie. She was in the area visiting her family and she came to see us this afternoon.

Here are some pics of our fun together.

Hmmmm, what has distracted Thunder from the lovely Ms. Valerie?

Phantom is over there checking out the goodies
that our guest brought for us.

For Thunder, some of the beautiful Kat's lovely coat of fur.

For Phantom, a high five from Steve.

And for all of us, look at these yummy treats that Valerie brought us from Three Dog Bakery. Wowzers, we can't wait to sink our teeth into that big bone. Mom says we have to wait until tomorrow -stay tuned, it is another special day for the OP Pack.

Thank you, Steve, Kat, and Wilbur, for sharing your wonderful Mom with us.

4. Reading all our furiends' blogs

Friday Fun with "Fans"

Two of our "fans", the Pointer Pandemonium and Honey the Great Dane, were so kind to send this Sweet Stamp Award to us.

The cuddly pointers tell us that the award says:
“Proven! your blog has sweetness.”

Thank you to all of you for this beautiful compliment.

Then Honey the Great Dane also offered us the Proximadade Certificate.

The award states that “This blog invests and believes in PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time, and relationships!”

In other words, “These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.”

We are so grateful to Honey for this fine opinion of us and our blog.

And another big thank you to Checkers and Nessa for giving us this lovely award as well. You can read here about why we love blogging.

It is so very hard to pick just eight of our blogger friends who deserve these awards. So please make us happy and accept our gift of these awards to all who are visiting us.

We do have another "fan" to share today. Dakota wanted you all to see what the good Mom did for her yesterday to keep her comfortable.

"Hi to all my wonderful furiends.
Thank you so much for being so nice to me."

Wishes from us to all for a wonderful weekend.

Thursday's Twins

Thunder is trying to look over Phantom's shoulder - he IS still the baby of the pack despite being the biggest, but he does seem to know his place.

For those of you who wondered what TD was doing on the grill shelf yesterday, Mom had cooked steaks on the grill over the weekend and forgot to wipe off the shelf . He found some very tasty drippings. And yes AO4, we have discovered that wonderful drip pan under the grill - yummy!!!

Dakota wants to send out a big thank you to Khyra for her post yesterday and to all of you who stopped by to wish her well. She has slipped a bit since her episode on Sunday, but she is hanging in there. Here is what she did when Mom read her all your wishes.

"AW, SHUCKS!!! Thanks to all of woo."

Woos, the OP Pack

Pee Ess, to those who are wondering about the robin eggs - three of the four hatched yesterday as of 4:30 PM. We didn't get any pics, not wanting to freak out the mom.
