Wacky and not so wordless Wednesday on Thursday

We had trouble with both YouTube and Blogger yesterday, so here is Wednesday's post on Thursday, making it even wackier.

Just a quick post to thank everyone for all the beautiful cards we have received, both by email and by snail mail. We were so surprised to receive so many. We also got lots of great presents from our family and from our furiends too. We had a wonderful Christmas weekend with all the family together. Mom and Dad were so happy to have the three big kids and the six grandkids all together, but now they are both exhausted from all the fun. Things are slowly settling back into our normal hectic lifestyle. We are trying very hard to catch up on all your posts we missed. Please forgive us if we can't comment on all of them, but we are trying to read them all and enjoy all the good times you have had for the holidays too. We want to leave you with this silly video Mom shot tonight. Please ignore Dad chuckling in the background as he watches "2 1/2 Men". Mom says we were being very silly boys.

And just in case we don't get to post tomorrow, we want to wish all of you a very happy and healthy and prosperous New Year in 2010.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL OUR FRIENDS

We have so enjoyed this past year of making new friends, sharing the good and the sad times with all of you, and making memories with our fabulous furiends that we will treasure for years to come. We hope that all of you enjoy this wonderful time of the year.

Thanks to Zoolatry.

Life at our house will be very busy for a few days. So if we don't get around to visit you, please know that we are still thinking about you and will be back for more blogfun soon.

You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen,
Comet and Cupid and Donder and Blitzen.,
But do you recall
The newest reindeer to call?

It's Phantom and Thunder!!!

Maybe if we just wait here, Santa will remember that we want to help with his sleigh this year.

Getting Ready for Santa

Early this morning, Mom loaded both of us into the minivan.

OK, I am ready - how do you think I fit in this booster seat? Can you please buckle me in, Mom?

I think I will stay right here on the floor so I can get out of the door first.

Usually when we get to ride in the minivan, it is because we are going to the vet or to the groomer. And we typically are not too happy about it. And yes, we are on our way to the groomer. So why do we look so perky and happy today?

Well, there are only three more days until Christmas Eve and we want to be sure we look our best when Jolly Old St. Nick comes down the chimney.

What do you think?

There's a New Star in Heaven tonight.

It is with great sadness that we are here to tell you about the passing of another wonderful pup.

This is Kyrye. She is one of Khyra's sisters and she turned 15 years old in October.

She had been slowing down, and over the past few days she took a bad turn and let her humans know that she was ready to go.

Khyra and her Mom got to spend some special time with her over the weekend. This morning they said their good-byes.

There have been so many very sad losses of our beloved pets this year. Khyra and her mom Phyll are always there for everyone. They offer selfless and unlimited love and support to all. We hold them dearly in our hearts for the loving care and concern they gave to us when we lost Dakota and for the daily joy of friendship that we share. Now it is time to extend our love, friendship, support, and good thoughts to them. Please do stop by Khyra's Khorner and leave a word of love.

When our Princess crossed the bridge, Khyra gave her a wonderful tribute and included a very special song written in honor of Princess Di. Kyrye shares her birthday with Phyll's sister Di and so we thought that very same song was most fitting today for this Princess Kyrye. We have included the lyrics here, we are sure you all are familiar with the tune. Take a moment tonight, light a candle for Kyrye and all of the other precious ones with her, and watch the skies for that new star tonight.

There's a New Star in Heaven tonight.

Shadows darken and the day is done
And I cannot believe that it's true and you are gone
You were always here beside me
You gave so much as the Queen of Hearts
To those without love
You were their voice when they could not speak
A touch for the dying

And as we say goodbye I can hardly see
For the tears in my eyes
You are shining like a million suns
And there's a new star up in Heaven tonight

I wonder if you ever knew
How much you were loved
And in the darkness of a lonely room
Were you empty inside?
As you fade away it's like a light
Has gone from the world
But I am sure that there is a place
Where it will burn on forever

And as we say goodbye I can hardly see
For the tears in my eyes
You are shining like a million suns
And there's a new star up in Heaven tonight

And there's a new star up in Heaven tonight

Do give your furbabies and humans some hugs and kisses and tell them how much you love them.

Hugs and Woos, Phantom, Thunder, and Kathie

Sibes for Hire

Mom said she is broke now that her Christmas shopping is done. AND she added that we were both old enough to start earning our keep.

So Santa, here we are, are you hiring this year?

We are even being very cooperative with the flashy beast and looking right at it.

Even Phantom.

We think we would be a pawfect addition to the sleigh team.

We haven't heard from Santa yet but it looks pretty bare under our tree.
Hope he is still planning to stop here.

Since the tree has such pretty sparkly lights, we decided to light up our eyes to add to the decor. What do you think?

*********

We have been very busy here getting everything ready for the holidays. Our human brother and family are coming to visit and all six of the grandkids will be here together along with their moms and dads. Mom is at that point where she is starting to stress about all that still has to be done. We are trying very hard to keep up with visiting and commenting on all of your wonderful blogs, but we may have to slow things down a bit. If you don't hear from us as much in the next couple of weeks, please know that we are thinking about all of you and wishing you all a wonderful holiday season. We will be with you in spirit and in heart.

Thanking, Thinking, and a little of This and That

Thank you, Daisy, for sharing this nice award with us.
That was so nice of you.

And the rules say to share it with 15 furiends. Well, you know what we Siberians think about rules. It is too hard to name just 15, so go ahead, accept this as an early Christmas gift from the OP Pack.

We were very sad this week to learn that a very sweet kitty furiend has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Charybdis, the beautiful and beloved furbaby of our friends at Alasandra: The Cats & a Dog, will be missed so much by so many. Please send some good thoughts to her family. If you have ever visited their blog, you know that they have beautiful gardens and share their lovely flowers with us all the time. Today they have dedicated their gardening tour to the memory of Charybdis. It is a little cold here for any outside blooms, but we wanted to offer Mom's beautiful Christmas cactus as a tribute to the memory of Charybdis.

Last year it didn't bloom on time for Christmas, but look at it now!

It seems to really like this spot on the mantel of the kitchen fireplace.
Isn't it so beautiful?

Next to it you can see our pretty Siberian Husky carousel.

Let's turn it around a bit so you can see some more.

And one more spin. Mom got this a few years ago. We all would love to be able to pull a sled like that too.

As we said, it is very cold here today. It was only 2 degrees when Mom got up this morning. Yes, we sibes are supposed to love the cold. Someone must have forgotten to give the message to Phantom.

He loves the warm sun.

And the sun shining through the windows is his favorite.

Thunder, on the other hand, loves the snow and the cold. Here he is trying to be patient and wait for his brother to wake up
and go out with him.

You guessed it, he gave up pretty quickly and headed out by himself to check out the yard. We still have some snow, not much, but some is better than none.

Oh oh, maybe I made a mistake, it is pretty frigid out here.

Please, can I come in?

We Got SOME

We got all of two inches - well, that might be a bit of a stretch but it sounds better than a little more than an inch. Here are a bunch of shots from last night and early this morning. Mom couldn't be outside much with us to get some good pics because the little monsters - oops, we mean the sweet grandkids,
were here early too.

LAST NIGHT

Is it really SNOW?

C'mon, Phantom. Let's go.

I'm coming, I'm coming.

EARLY THIS MORNING

Get ready, TD. I think we might be headed out there.

Not sure it is worth while to go down there.

Looks a lot better than yesterday.

Are you coming out too, Mom? NO????? Then please let me in.

Phantom, where are you?

I think I need to find a new playmate.

Running to see if Scout, the labrasomethingorother from next door, is out.

Guess I will just sit here and enjoy the view.

Anypup out there want to come play with me?

Say It Isn't So

OK, here is what we did this morning - all morning!!!

And why was that? Well, we had been told by the weather experts for two nights in a row now that we would have snow. We are getting a little depressed about this situation.

The Momster finally made us go outside.

Do you see what we have? A very wet deck!
Nothing looks like fluffy white stuff to us.

Do you see snow anywhere, TD?

I'll check over here, Thunder.

I am checking out the yard, Phantom.

OK, flashy box operator, where is IT?

Yeah, Mom, can you please give us a hint?

OK, then. If you can't show me the fluff, then I am going back to bed.

Sounds good to me, but maybe I can find dinner
before I take another snooze.

Can you believe it? All we hear and see on the TV is this massive winter storm headed across the midsection of the country. How much more in the midsection can you get - we are the center of the country from north/south and east/west!!! We are so wanting some snow.

Yesterday our special girl Dakota was featured on Zoolatry's Advent Calendar for December 7th. The ZH is so thoughtful and kindhearted. Be sure to check out the post if you would like a Christmas Memory ornament for your Rainbow Bridge pet.

We miss you so much, Dakota. This will be our first Christmas without you. We hope you and all our other furiends there with you have a beautiful holiday season. Our hearts are filled with beautiful memories.
