Thursday's Talk - The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

From what I hear, it may look a lot different next week.

I sure hope those Angels above me are trumpeting their tune for good luck.

The cytology lab results indicate that the nasty lump on my face is the same horrible thing as my tumor from last year. It shows "significant criteria for malignancy." That's a lot of fancy words for "no darn good." That's the bad AND the ugly.

So today I began the process of moving closer to going under the knife again. Mom brought me to the V.E.T. and he took pictures of my chest - and it IS a very hairy one. He said my lungs look good. That is a good thing. If my lungs showed any problems, then putting me under anesthesia for surgery would be very risky.

Then the V.E.T., who really is a very nice guy, had to go and ruin his image by sticking me with a big needle and stealing some of my precious blood. That's because the next step is to check out all the blood work results to be sure everything else inside me is doing OK. We should know more about that tomorrow. So I guess this is sort of a not good/not bad/not ugly yet thing.

If the blood work comes back A-OK, then Tuesday is when I will have to agree to lose some of my furs on the left side of my face, and then I will have a boo boo there with stitches. That could be a good thing or a bad thing, definitely an ugly thing. The V.E.T is concerned with the size, location, and hardness of my lump. He won't know how much is involved until he gets in there and determines how invasive the bad thing is.

Then the really bad AND ugly part is that he said I have to wear a cone for a while so I don't paw or rub at my boo boo.

If the bloodwork shows any issues, then we have to stop and think about what is best for me.

That's my update. All of us here are hoping for good results.

We also want to tell you that in a few days we may be absent from here for a bit and may not be around to comment a lot for a while. But we will definitely try to let you know how I am doing and we will try to keep up on what is happening with all of you.
