Today is a day to give thanks for good friends. We always get so much joy and happiness from our many readers and from the many blogs we try to visit regularly. We are so grateful for the love and support you extend to us every day, and most especially in recent days for Phantom. It means so much to know that there are peeps and pups out there whose friendship is true and sincere and constant. Without getting too mushy, we just want to say . . .
Today we want to acknowledge some awards we received this week from two of our newer furiends. We received these Versatile Blogger awards from Pip and Miss Molly.
We are to tell you seven things about ourselves. Hmmmm, let's see what we have to share that you don't already know.
- We are currently living in H-E-double-toothpicks. It is like an inferno here in the KC area with no relief in sight. And so that means we get very little time outside, no walks unless the Momster will take us very late, and lots of naptime.
- We have one human brother and two human sisters and they all have spouses and kiddos. There are six nieces and nephews - Momster and Dadster's grandbipeds. And this week the human brother and family are visiting from the LA area - our house is FULL of peeps, big ones and little ones. And that isn't a bad thing - lots of extra treats for us.
- We all hate baths.
- BUT Thunder and Ciara love to stay outside in the rain.
- Mom is thinking about getting us one of those exercise balls like Mango and Dexter have.
- We are all excited for the big wedding between Frankie and his girls Ruby and Penny.
- We may not be around much for a while to be able to visit all of you:( But we will try to do our best and hope to be back on track in a bit.
We also want to show you something special that the Momster got in the mail - AND it came from ROYAL Mail - does she have some secret royal ancestry connection that we don't know about?
The handsome Ginger Jasper and his very lovely Mum sent a package for our Mom "just because" - something to let her know that they were thinking of her. Wasn't that just so thoughtful? Here is what she received:
Look at that beautiful photo card of Ginger Jasper - he really knows how to strike a pose. And then there was a beautiful scarf for Mom.
Here is a closer look. Isn't it just beautiful - look at all those pups on there? Thank you, Ginger Jasper and Mum. You are very special friends.
Many of you have been asking how Phantom is doing. A few of you commented on how he looked sort of sad in the video yesterday. Some of you may remember how stressed he was last year when he had to wear his shirt for so long. Well, we think part of his sadness now is because he really doesn't like his cone at all. He is only at the halfway point today. He has to wear it until he gets his stitches out next week. Mom has tried to let him go without it while she can watch him, but he immediately tries to scratch it or rub his face on the floor or furniture. And he has one mean paw when he scratches. So she has to be firm and make him wear it. He also isn't eating very well at all. He is Mr. Picky, but his appetite has been poor. The vet thinks the antibiotic may not have agreed well with him, but he is done with it now. We are hoping to see an improvement in his eating now. Mom has tried everything to get him to eat. But he is not only picky, he is downright stubborn. So here's hoping things get better. At least his incision is healing well.
Not the face of a happy boy:(
One more week, the cone and stitches will be gone, the household will be back to its normal insanity, and maybe the weather will get cooler.
Woos ~ Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara
Pee Ess, note to Martha and Bailey. We haven't forgotten about our PIF, but we are going to wait until things settle down a bit.

Khyra and Khousin Merdie
i know he's always been a picky/tough eater. but do you think he's extra picky maybe cuz he's sulking over the cone? when we're bummed, our appetite does weird (and weirder) things than usual...
ReplyDeletei hope it's the cone that's causing his more than his normal picky appetite...
Hi woos!! Kongrats on your awards. Thanks for
ReplyDeleteThe updates, hope Phantom gets back his appetite
And recover well on no time soon.
I'd be feeling lousy too if I had to wear
That coney thing for that long..
Meanwhile stay happy cheery and pawsitive!!!

We still have our paws crossed for you, Phantom. Regardless of how much more comfortable that cone might be, we agree, we don't like them.

A week seems like a long time.. when you are the one in the cone zone. Butt it is for the best.
Perhaps some CHICKEN would taste good. My mom fixes that for me when I get in one of my fussy Food Moods.
we will miss you while you are away being busy. Have FUN.
Such a thoughtful gift, I love the scarf!
ReplyDeleteWe're counting the days until Phantom is cone-free!
Don't you wish you could explain to him that it's not going to be forever?
Enjoy your family's visit!

GJ is such a great shopper! That scarf is beautimous!
ReplyDeleteWe hope Phantom gets his appetitie back. Mom hates to see any of us with poor appettites. Hang in there Buddy, only one more week left!!
Love that beautiful scarf!
ReplyDeleteLooks like woos are going to be furry busy entertaining your houseguests and getting petting and getting treats from them. Have fun!
Phantom, we just want to go there and give you lots of hugs and kisses. We know it's no fun at all but you have to eat. I(June) is like that. When I don't feel like eating I just won't eat. Mom even tries to handfeed me sometimes but I just turn my head away.
I suppose maybe Phantom's stitches are healing AND starting to itch. Maybe some gentle fingertip pressure would help a bit right now. At least he doesn't have to wear that old hard plastic cone!
ReplyDeleteYour scarf gift is very beautiful and well deserved!
Kisses,
Stella and Jo
Poor Phantom! Wearing that cone is no fun! I hope he is all better, and the weather is cooler for all of us soon!
ReplyDeleteHi Phantom! Cheer up buddy..only a few more days.
ReplyDeleteWhen the crazy cone comes off, maybe you will feel more like eating!
Love ya,
Wyatt and Stanzie
Sometimes pro-biotics can help with that upst tummy from the meds. One of my boys has a sensitive tummy and they helped a lot. Feel better, Phantom :-)

ReplyDeleteAnd it was so sweet of GJ and his mom to send you that stuff - they are so super thoughtful!
And oh poor Phantom - we aren't surprised at all he looks a bit sad with the cone and not feeling good from the antibiotics (which wouldn't surprise us at all - it happens to us sometimes too). We are still sending him lots of purrs and prayers

ReplyDeleteCongrats on your awards! I just got the butterfly one from George the Lad and was going to pass it on to you. Since you already have it though, I guess I won't.
ReplyDeleteThose are some nice gifts from Ginger Jasper. I love that scarf.
I hope Phantom gets his appetite back. He did look a little sad in the video and I felt bad for him.
Aww...poor Phantom. I hope that he is able to get the cone off as soon as possible so he can go back to being happy and eating again.
ReplyDeleteI know some of the meds we gave Samick caused him to stop eating to.
I hope your boy feels better soon.
What lovely presents!
ReplyDeleteAwww, Phantom! Gentle nose kisses from all of us girls to you! When we have to have antibiotics, we never feel like eating, either! Hopefully you'll feel more like it when you get done with those pills!

We're finally going to cool down starting Sunday into the lower 80's. That will be much nicer than this oven we are currently living in. I sure hope it cools down there too!
ReplyDeletePoor Phantom! He reminds me of Samuel when he has to wear his bucket. Have you tried ham and shredded cheese? That seems to work well for us!
What beautiful presents you got! How nice of Ginger, Jasper and their mom!
Have fun with the family!
Holly and Khady
Phantom, we are sorry about the cone thing we wouldn't like it either. Glad to hear the incision is healing well. Purrs you get a good doctor's report.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your award!! The scarf and the card from Ginger Jasper is so nice too!! That is so sweet!! Poor Phantom.....I would be very unhappy if I had a cone around my neck too. We are praying that the healing goes faster and that the doctor report is good. Give Phantom and the others a great big hug from us! Lots of love, Debbie and Holly
ReplyDeleteOh, Phantom, I feel for you, pal. Last time I had a cone, the minute it came off, I ripped it to shreds. That showed it!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on all your awards! Just relax and keep cool this weekend. :)
Thank woo for the kind words! Every furrie and hooman wuvs woo and da family! We are always thinking of Phantom! He's such a handsome stinker!
ReplyDeleteMBB
poor phantom, he looks sooooooooo sad, give him lots of love from me, and love to Ciara and Thunder aswel, :)
ReplyDeleteJenny
Great celebratory and grateful post, but my friend Phantom gets me every time. The video had me in tears and the photos today didn't help. How about some chicken soup with just rice, chicken, and a few carrots? When I was really sick and refused to eat anything (because I was both sad and pumped full of antibiotics) I only ate mommy's soup. And when I stopped eating that, I got a liver brownie recipe from a friend. I wish I had the recipe but I've lost it. If you need it for the boy though, I'll do everything I can to get in touch with that old friend. One more thing that really helped me eat was Nutrical. For some reason when I had some Nutrical my appetite increased a bit.

Oh - I'm so so sorry I haven't visited in so long! Poor, poor Phantom! I feel so bad seeing you so sad. I hope the next week goes quickly so that you can get that yucky cone off soon. I guess it doesn't help also that it's so hot where you are, you can't even go outside much to check out stuff going on and maybe take your mind off the cone!
ReplyDeleteYour human has probably tried this but has she tried putting stinky fish on your food? Like tuna or sardines, with lots of juices? Most doggies can't resist the smell - and those oily fish are really good for us too.
Anyway, am sending you lots of healing slobbers and thinking of you -
Slobbers,
Honey the Great Dane
I hope the weather cools down for you soon!
