We are truly overwhelmed by the tremendous outpouring of love and support from the blogosphere. We have received so many beautiful comments and private emails and cards from all over the world. We always thought of Thunder as a very BIG BOY, but he was bigger in ways we never dreamed. Mom has been trying to thank all our commenters individually, but so far we are only about halfway through the very long list. We promise we will get there eventually. We are finding that many of you don't have blogs and we can't always find a way to contact you - but please know that we so appreciate your kind thoughts and words.
We hope you enjoy our video slideshow of Thunder's life with The OP Pack. Mom apologizes for how long it is, but she found it very hard to eliminate the many photos we have of her special boy. It was a very tearful project, lots of tissues and sniffles, but in some ways, it was also very therapeutic. If you don't have time to watch it all now, please do come back another day and enjoy it then.
You can also watch it on YouTube HERE. Or click on the little rectangle in the lower right corner of the video box and watch it full screen.
We were not able to post our video through YouTube with the music Mom wanted to use because of copyright issues:( But we wanted to dedicate this song to Thunder.
Oh we never know where life will take us
I know it's just a ride on the wheel
And we never know when death will shake us
And we wonder how it will feel
So goodbye my friend
I know I'll never see you again
But the time together through all the years
Will take away these tears
It's okay now
Goodbye my friend
I've seen a lot things that make me crazy
And I guess I held on to you
We could've run away and left well maybe
But it wasn't time and we both knew
So goodbye my friend
I know I'll never see you again
But the love you gave me through all the years
Will take away these tears
I'm okay now
Goodbye my friend
Life's so fragile and love's so pure
We can't hold on but we try
We watch how quickly it disappears
And we never know why
But I'm okay now
Goodbye my friend
You can go now
Goodbye my friend
Thunder, we all miss you so very much. This was just so not fair, but then cancer never is.
Woos - Phantom, Ciara, Lightning, and Mom

Dad says that Thunder was kinda his favorite, know we shouldn't do that, but he had a Huskie that looked just like Thunder, they could have been twins. He thought he was a person, betcha Thunder did too.

Dear Kathie,
ReplyDeleteso much love must aches when you lost the beloved one, but Thunder left you so many wonderful memories, so many cherryful moments. You are very rich to own them and the heartpains are a small price to pay for such a great friendship full of loyalty, fun, love and trust.

You've left me with tears on my cheeks. I remembered so many of the photos... and I loved seeing the photos of Thunder and his Ciara.
ReplyDeleteYou're right. Cancer is never fair. I love the lyrics to the song you wanted to use. I think that it is important to tell them that it's okay to go... that we will survive. I'm sure that Thunder knew that with you, especially with his beloved Ciara to look after you.
Beautifully done. Hugs, KB, Angel K, R, and Shyla.
PS Notice that Angel K is always here when it's important. It will be the same for Angel Thunder.
This was a beautiful tribute to Thunder. I will sure miss his charming blue eyes.
ReplyDeleteRun Free Sweet Boy.

Kathie, that's a beautiful tribute to Thunder. We can see how close he was to Ciara. And, yes, time with our babies is just never long enough.
ReplyDeleteOh Kathie, that is such a wonderful video of all of Thnunder's life. Sorry we are so late getting here. We read this morning and watched the video but the phone rang with some bad news and we are just getting back here. I am coming back to watch it again. It is so much fun seeing all the pictures. Is Phantom very sad?? Anyway, sending tons and tons of hugs. We sure are thinking about ya.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been around Blogville lately and only heard the news a couple days ago. I left a short message on my blog but I'll say it again here: I'm very sorry to hear of the passing of Thunder. Thinking of you all right now.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing that with us, Kathie. Those Sibe eyes say so much. Thunder was obviously very well loved, and I'm sure he knew it.
Also, don't feel like you have to reply to all the comments, or at least that you have to do it soon! I'm sure it must be difficult right now, please don't worry about that right now!

What a beautiful tribute. I am so sorry for your loss.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful tribute to Thunder! I recognized a lot of pictures from the video, but there were many that I didn't. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteNo matter how long we have our pets, it's never long enough. Thinking about this makes me realize that I really need to take more (and better) pictures of my boys.
I'm going to light another candle for Thunder.
The video was not too long - it was perfect and I'm all teary. It is so clear from watching the video that Thunder had a wonderful life with your family. I'm so sorry for your loss.

A very beautiful tribute for a truly special Thunder. Looking through the photos made us remember posts of TD's moments, mischief, sweetness, gentleness and most especially his wonderful smiles. More photos would always be welcomed.
ReplyDeleteThe closeness he had with Dakota, Phantom, Lightning and of course with Ciara will always be remembered. Our most favorite photo is TD's photo with Mom.

We thought of Thunder when all the fireworks were lighting up the sky on Thursday night. What a wonderful tribute, what a love of a dog!
ReplyDeleteThat was really beautiful. What an incredible tribute. All I could think as the tears are running down my face is that Thunder and Dakota and Remington are all together and running free across a field of fresh snow playing football together. It is the only way I can think about it and not be sad. I love the Woo's !

I'm so very sorry for the loss of your Thunder. Watching the video makes me feel just a little of the pain your must be laboring under. Any of us who have lived with dogs or cats or any companion animal know that awful rawness of their passing. For me going through pictures as you have done made me feel whole again, for a little while.
ReplyDeleteSending love your way,
Nanina
Lovely tribute to a beautiful boy. I'm finding it hard to write through the tears. Praying for comfort for you all.

It's always so hard to go through all those old pics. Still brings tears to my eyes to look through pics of Holly, or even Abby. We just never get enough time, especially when we lose them too young.
ReplyDeleteTD had the best family and was a very lucky boy to have such love!

There are times when i have to give video's a miss.. this is one of them., not because I don't want to watch, but it will make me cry :-)
ReplyDeleteI don't want that either at the moment.
There are such special places four paws go to, each has a part of our heart and we always know they are right there where we can find them. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Thank you for sharing Thunder with us. I hope these special memories bring you solace in this time of griefChallenge coins
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful tribute to Thunder. I am so very sorry for your loss of such an amazing dog and I know Thunder had an amazing life with you and your pack.
ReplyDeleteThrough tears I watched this absolutely beautiful tribute to a very beautiful and special boy. Not enough years by far. My heart breaks for you and hope that one day the pain will lessen and his beautiful memories will bring a smile rather than tears. It was so unfair. I still can't believe it, so I can only imagine what it is like for you. I will share this beautiful video of a beautiful life. Sending many hugs your way. xo
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful tribute to him, he was a superb dog.

ReplyDeleteI have not been on your blog before, but found my way here through Oskar and Benny. I just wanted to express how sorry I am for the loss of your Thunder. We just lost our Golden Retriever Moses less than 3 weeks ago, also to cancer, so I can feel your pain so deeply. He was only 8 years old, almost 9. Thunder was so handsome! I will come back to watch your video soon....right now I can barely get through writing this without the tears flowing. Please just know I am thinking of you, as are many, many others. We know how much you miss him.
ReplyDeleteJan, Wag 'N Woof Pets
We've read so many lovely tributes to Thunder on the blogosphere and sadly never met him until now. He was obviously a very lovely and loved fellow. Rest in peace deR boy.
ReplyDeleteWe are so very sorry for your loss. Thunder was such a beautiful darling boy, and touched so many peoples hearts in so many ways. He will never be forgotten.
ReplyDeleteOur thoughts are with you,
Kathryn
I'm sorry that we are just now commenting on this post, but Mom didn't think she could watch it for a while. It was a lovely tribute and we feel honored to have been a part of it. While we feel sad every time a blog friend passes away, Thunder's passing has bothered Mom a lot. Probably for several reasons. She had met Thunder, she's friends with you, and also Thunder was only 6 months older that we are and it all seemed to happen so fast. I guess it really hit home how we need to not take for granted any time we have together.
ReplyDeleteWe hope you are all doing okay and that Ciara is adjusting to not having her buddy around. We didn't remember that one picture of them on the deck where she is completely laying on him. So funny! What a pair.
Steve, Kat, and Wilbur
So sorry to be away and come back to find out about Thunder. Your tribute was so beautiful. What wonderful memories of a most handsome boy. We are so very sorry for your loss.
ReplyDeleteDaniela and Shawnee
Sorry to hear about Thunder. My sister who lived with my people before me moved into doggie heaven because of the big "C" too. Made my hoomans very sad. They hadda wait a while before they picked me up. I hears about her alla time! I hope I can live up to her good dogginess. Many loves to you and your Thunder.
ReplyDeleteLoved your video. We sure miss him too. It was fun to watch his bond grow with miss puppy pants, and then reluctantly won over by lightening. What a lover.
ReplyDeleteSee you someday at the rainbow bridge my friend,
ReplyDeleteMaxx
Such a lovely tribute to Thunder, so sorry I am so late in seeing it. Then again perhaps this is when I was meant to see it. I cried watching the video of Thunder's life. Such a gorgeous puppy growing into a handsome dog
ReplyDelete. He was so loved. I know he will remember Bailey and look out for her.
Gone far too soon.
