Lightning here today, with my second report on the 30 day taste challenge I am doing for Chewy.com.
Remember these bags - I am giving the Stella & Chewy's Chicken Dinner Patties the taste test. Just to refresh your memory, these patties are a Chicken Freeze-Dried Dinner from Stella & Chewy made with raw, farm-raised cage-free chicken. The all-natural meal contains no added hormones or antibiotics, just easily digested ingredients. They contain lots of good stuff like chicken Ground with Bone, Chicken Liver, Chicken Gizzard, Pumpkin Seed, Organic Spinach, Organic Broccoli, Organic Beets, Organic Carrots, Organic Squash, Organic Apples, and Organic Blueberries. The patties have lots of other big word things in them, but I listed the ones that really appealed to me.
I am testing this product as a topper for my kibble and veggies. It can also serve as a full and complete meal for dogs, but Mom says for a dog of my weight, it would be too costly. For dogs over 40 lbs., using it as a topper is recommended. A 40 lb. dog should get about 10 patties a day if it is not used as a topper.
So here is what Mom has to do to prepare my dinner:
I get three patties added to my kibble, which Mom has reduced in amount so I don't gain weight. You have to add a little bit of water if you want to soften the patties or you can just crumble them. Mom likes to soften mine so it is more like canned food. But this softening works best with HOT water, and it does take a few minutes for it to work. As the patties start to soften, you can really get the yummy aroma of chicken and liver.
Then use a fork to mash up the patties.
Add the mashed mixture to my bowl of kibble, green beans, and pumpkin.
Stir it all up together.
Then I have to sit and "wait" until Mom gives me the "OK" release to eat. I am trying hard to keep my eye on Mom's lips AND keep my eyes on that bowl of deliciousness.
Here it comes: "OK"!!!!
Mom was lucky enough to get a shot of me eating before I gobbled it all up.
And if you want to see me in action, here is a video where you can see the difference between me eating and Ciara eating - I will leave it at that.
I guess you can tell that this food is a big hit with me. I am so grateful to Chewy.com for giving me the opportunity to try this great food.
We have one more report to give in another week or so when we will give you our final assessment of my food challenge.
We will give a little hint that this product will be getting a good number of paws up with just a few negatives from the Momster. I let Ciara join me in this photo because Mom has been slipping a mouthful or so into her bowl too:) Thank you, Chewy.com.
Happy weekend.
