Well, the test results are in. TheVet says I have to start taking two MORE medicines. I told Mom I won't take any more pills unless she agrees to get me some yummy livergreat!!!
So my little brother told woo how I haven't been doing too well. Thanks, ThunderDunder, nice of woo to be so concerned. I went to TheVet on Saturday and they did lots of things I didn't like very much. They took some of my blood - 'hey, stop, I said, I need that stuff.' Then they made me go potty when I really didn't have to. And then I had to lay on a hard table while they took pictures of my tummy. I really would like it if they would put a soft pillow on that table.
So today TheVet called Mom; I don't know what was going on, but TheVet actually called her back three more times. I do know that I have to take two different pills every day twice a day for a long while. I already get one pill for my thyroid twice a day and some liquid stuff for my joint pain. I am not really "up" for two more. So I put my paw down and told Mom she just had to get me some livergreat to help them go down more tastily. I hope she was listening.
[This is Mom taking over for now. The test results on Dakota were a bit mixed. Some aspects were good, others not so good, and a few were questionable. The good news is that Dakota's kidneys are functioning pretty well despite her Cushing's. Her heart is looking pretty good too. But she has a lot of bacteria in her urine, her white blood cell count is very high, and something called neutrophils also have a high count. A couple of her liver counts are also pretty high. So we know that she has an infection of some sort somewhere. Although the x-rays were inconclusive, the vet seems to think there is an issue with her liver, possibly the metastasizing of the adrenal tumor into the liver area. For starters, we are going to treat with an antibiotic that should clear up the urine and may do some good for the liver.
In addition, her blood pressure is very high. She will be starting on medication for that too. We will have her rechecked in about three weeks to see if there is any improvement. Overall, we are seeing some more deterioration in her condition due to the Cushing's.
So keep up the good thought for my sweet princess.]
And don't furgit the livergreat, Mom. Maybe you could git me some Frosty Paws too.
Woo, Dakota

Dakota,
ReplyDeleteFrom one princess to another, I hope you feel better soon. As long as the pills come with livergreat, they're not too bad. Brice has started sucking the peanut butter off his pill and the spitting the pill out but Momma is on to him now.
When you feel up to it stop by our blog. We have an award for you.
Paws are crossed for you,
Princess Eva
Those vets do enjoy taking things from us. I hope they can figure out what is wrong.

Hey guys! Thanks for visiting us. Liver issues? Ugh! I have those too! Different problem though. I'm on a very special diet that requires my Human to cook for me and buy my food at Whole Foods. What a deal! I love all the special attention and food. The being sick part....not so much.
ReplyDeleteMom puts flax seed meal in our eggs and french toast. Of course you could add it to other food, but it's supposed to help. NOTHING proven on this one. Might be an old wives tail. It's very nutty tasting and we love it.
Keep up the good work counter cruising.
Loving Life,
Lola
