Mom told me Saturday that I had a lot to think about
and that I hadn't been a good boy.
and that I hadn't been a good boy.
As you may recall, I had an adventurous week last week. First I caught a snake - and Mom used those words "leave it" - and I DID.
Then I caught a bird. Well, to tell the truth, the silly bird flew into the window near the deck and fell to the floor. I just scooped him up. But then Mom again used those words "leave it" - and I DID.
Today I was outside surveying the perimeter of my domain and I found something. Mom looked out the window and spotted me with something 7-8 inches long, round and plump, greyish brown-furred. She hurried out to the deck and was screaming those words "leave it" - and I DIDN'T. She raced down the stairs. She can be very fast when she wants to. . . .

But I was faster. Before she could hit the bottom step,
it was gone, gone, gone - all in one big gulp!!!

Woos,
Pee Ess: some of you wondered why Phantom was so cold. Well, it was chilly overnight Sunday and very cold in the early morning. Well, OK, it was only about 42 degrees. But Phantom is super skinny and his coat is pretty thin, especially since his surgery. He doesn't like the cold, hard as that may be to believe. So we indulge him and let him curl up in his doughnot anytime he wants. It is supposed to be a very cold winter in the Midwest. Mom better stock up on warm blanies for the boy.
Oh, Thunder, did you eat...a squirrel??!! How could you? They are so cute!!
ReplyDeleteAnd you didn't have indigestion?!
ReplyDeleteHi There Thunder! Squirrels huh? never really could catch em, they're v v fast..!! Mommy luvs your smiling shots!! Thanks for sharing that exciting tale with us!

Salute Thunder. While we may obey sometimes, you have to keep the humans guessing. And since you are above 50%, that is superb behavior in The Herd world.
ReplyDeleteI HATE when they do that...
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures! He looks very mischievous !
WOW! Awesome! I'm so jealous! Was it REALLY a squirrel??? Well done my Siberian neighbor!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd Phantom thinks 42 degrees is cold??? I must say that really surprises me. Wonder if he could have a wee bit of foo foo (as the BH&K call it) in his ancestry... oh, surely not.
Woooos Thunder!!!!! I am so impressed! That is a husky after my own heart. You could come there, where it is warm and we can have squirrel for dinner....I like them too! ( although I usually do not eat the tail, I leave that for Mom to find!)
ReplyDelete-Kira The BeaWootiful
So, has your mom noticed a difFURent hop to your walk?

Your photos all so adorable and really looked like you enjoyed some Y-U-M-M-Y treats.
By the way, Frappie wants to let you know that he and the entire Piappies family are staying together. And he looks forward to learning more tricks from you and Phantom.
Princess, Fudgie & the Piappies
Hi Thunder
ReplyDeleteYou got to eat a squirrel. You are so lucky. What did it taste like, we just have to know?
Love Ruby & Penny
Poor Phanton - if you need a couple of doxie heaters, don't hesitate to call.
My goodness, you MUST share with us the EXACT nature of your outdoor snack! That sounds furry noteworthy!
ReplyDeleteThunder- we are so proud of you! Nothing like catching your own snack.
ReplyDeletePhantom - Curling up in a doughnut, napping next to the heat register or snuggling under a blanklet are all great ways to stay warm. Just make sure that your mom doesn't put a sweater on you!
Princess Eva
wow Thunder - hope your snack was good and you didnt get into too much trouble - Sweetie catches stuff all the time and mommy yells at her!!
ReplyDeleteWoodrow - Sweetie - MJ
Oooo, what was it? Was it a RAT??? Or a SQUIRREL??? You are my hero, Thunder!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, we are feeling the cold up here in Iowa. Mom says she needs to take me shopping fur some comfy shirts to wear inside. Usually I only wear a hoodie outside when it gets really cold, but something about this year... everything feels a little colder. Especially when you have a nekkid belly like me!
Luv,
Cloud
Doesn't the tail tickle on the way down? I've never been brave enough to try one!
ReplyDeleteHi, Thunder...
ReplyDeleteOMdoG...You actually caught a squirrel...And, ate it???
Oh...I'm soooo jealous...
My Mom says, she is glad I've never caught one...And, she is sure I wouldn't "Leave It" if I did...
Abby xxxooo
Hahahahaha....
ReplyDeleteOh! Thunder - we hope it didn't scratch around too much in your tummy.
ReplyDeleteXOXO
Lilly, Piper, Carrleigh and Java
PS - Java is getting old and arthritic and likes to lay close to the heater - Dad won't let Mom get him a sweater but sometimes we think he needs one.
So what was it that you ate? We really want to know!
ReplyDeleteSam & June
Oh oh!! That was a bad thing to do. Wonder what it was. I hope it doesn't make a re-appearance.
ReplyDeleteUh oh. My mom would be VERY upset about that! And so would my tummy.....

OHOH, Thunder's in trouble.. I hate it when I see my dogs or cats at that fact eating something they shouldn't! YUCK! He is so cute though, how could you possibly be mad at him!!
ReplyDeleteHi Thunder - um, we have to say that you don't look particularly shameful in ANY of those photos, so 'thinking about being bad' hasn't had the desired effect, he he he! We sort of hope it WAS a squirrel and not - um - like a neighbours cat or anything.....!! Eeek! Good grief - we think we'd be too scared to do something like that - we sometimes get a bit upset if one of our stuffies fights back too hard, he he he! Schnauzer snuggles - JD and Max.

We dont have skwhirrels here so I was maybe thinking of field mice... OMD!
Are you feeling okay buddy? no bad stomach or anything? or maybe any pesky hooman trying to induce vomitting?
Please send our warmest hugs to your handsome brother! Do you think 84 lbs of labrador would be enough to warm him these days?
drooly kisses,
Aki
Oh My Thunder Dunder! You are the TALENT! And who could stay angry with such a face?
ReplyDeletesigh. 2 paws up from Juno!
That last picture just says it all!
ReplyDeleteSo did you eat a squirrel or a bunny? Hmm...I bet it was very tasty!
Mochi

ReplyDeleteleave it

cookies in the house
come
leave it
lets trade
only sometimes do they words work!
Oh, Thunder, I've been getting into trouble recently too. For being mean to Wilbur. I think he's just asking for it, but Mom doesn't see it that way.
ReplyDeleteSteve says it's better for you to swallow your prey in one gulp that for your mom to have to see a headless squirrel, like our mom did when she had to hold Steve while Dad pried the squirrel out of Steve's mouth.
