Wow, you are all so wonderful to me - Phantom. I am absolutely astounded at the support from so many of you after my injury. I want to thank all of you so very much for being so kind. I am doing very well. Last night Mom took me for a walk, but we stayed away from THAT street. She even took me to visit my donkey furiends.
I looked and looked for them, but I couldn't find them.
Maybe we will look again tonight.
Maybe we will look again tonight.
Meanwhile, I must say I am getting lots and lots of extra attention at home because everyone wants me to know that all is well.
Now if I could only figure out how to tell them that I need this big black thing here to produce some more of that delicious steak I got to have last night.
And while we are on the subject of thanks, Mom said we have to beg for forgiveness from a few of our wonderful furiends who shared some great awards with us over the past month or so. Mom usually keeps a list on a paper, but she has lost the paper:( She hasn't been herself (don't tell her we said that) for a while now, too much going on from lots of levels or something like that. So now we don't know who to thank for some awards. If you gave us an award, and we didn't post about it, we are very sorry - it's all Mom's fault:( We promise we will do better the next time.
Here is one beauty that we are going to thank for sending us this great Halloween card:
Thanks, Twix. That was just so very sweet of you to do.
Happy Halloween to you too, Twix and Teresa.
Just for fun, here is some reverse synchronization
from the Inseparable Duo.
Just for fun, here is some reverse synchronization
from the Inseparable Duo.
We also wanted to show you that we finally have some grass.
That dead speck in the back right is our neighbor's yard. The house has been for sale for almost a year now. The house is vacant and the property is really deteriorating. Ciara is wondering if she needs to go over and do some gardening.
Hey, how did this pic get in here??? This is the big sister to the twins you saw a few posts ago. A very pensive "Wendy" waiting for the school's Halloween parade to begin today and wondering where Peter Pan is.
Before we close, we did want you all to know that the owner of the dog who attacked Phantom has offered to pay for the bill. We haven't seen any green papers yet, but we will have to see how it all goes. From all the comments we received, it seems like many of you are not very thrilled about invisible fences either. We do want to mention again that this dog was not wearing his collar, so why bother with the fence? We run into loose dogs way too often lately. But we are going to be like our furiend Dennis the Viszla and not give up. Mom says it would be hard for her to carry a stick when she is walking two at a time, but she could probably manage it with one. And the suggestion about pepper spray is another good one. But when the moment happens so fast, she wonders if she would even be able to react fast enough. We will cross our paws and hope this was a one time event.
Woos ~ Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara
My asst. wishes she had gotten the dog owner's name when I got hurt... would have been nice to have a little help with the VET bills. It was different in that the dog wasn't intentionally being aggressive or mean though. Glad Phantom is doing ok.
ReplyDeletePhantom, you knws we LAWAYS has your family's back...so I had to run over heres withs da quickness and you already had 34 comments...hehehehe!
ReplyDeleteYou gots steak???????
I hopes they is gonna do some grillin tonite...I likes mine med rare. I should be there in a couple of hours. Tells your mom to get ta cookin'.
Dat little grandbiped is a beauty! Her makes a perfect Wendy!
Puddles
Phantom we are so glad you are doing ok. We are so sad that you were attacked and also very sad that the owners are crummy and let it happen. We don't really like the invisible fences - we think real fences are the best idea. Anyway, we are glad the owners are being a little responsible and offering to help with the vet bills. But we just wish it hadn't happened in the first place. We are still sending you lots of purrs and throwing in a few to see if they can get you that steak!
ReplyDeleteGlad you're feeling better, Phantom! I hope you get your steak!
ReplyDeleteThat's the cutest hula-weenie card, ever!
At least the owner of the other dog seems repentant - wonder if he remembered to put oh his dog's collar today at least? I'm finding that pepper spary is fairly difficult to come across these days. I have bear spray (from our trip out west this spring), but that's kind of overkill. I've heard that army/navy supply stores or artillery ranges may carry it, going to try there next.
ReplyDeleteGlad Phantom is on the mend and hopefully will not have any "baggage" about other dogs approaching after being attacked!
Michelle
Phantom, I'm glad you got steak to help with your ordeal. Make sure your mom follows up with the bad guy and gets her green papers. This happened one time to us when a neighbors dog got out and attacked our Buddy (he died in 2004). It cost us $500 and the neighbor COMPLAINED that we should have gone to a cheaper vet. Yeah, at NIGHT the only vets open are ER vets.
ReplyDeleteShe paid. Mom had to be mean, but she paid.
Mom agrees that these things happen so fast, it's hard to react. A mean dog doesn't really react to a stick, and pepper spray might get your own dog. Let's hope it never happens again.
Phantom, we are so glad you are better. That was a horrible thing to happen to you and we do not like it at all. That owner should pay for your bill. We have a lawyer on hand if you need help!!! (Mom used to work for him...that's the reason..it's not because she gets in trouble...well, she's trouble but not that kind!) We are glad you got steak too. We got all upset when we saw that had happened....whatever you do, don't go that way. We love all of you!!! Love the pictures too!!! Lots of love, Holly and mo
ReplyDeleteMom types too fast and misses keys..that should have been mom..not mo...but thinking about it...maybe she is a mo! Lots of love, Holly and MOM
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm just so glad that Phantom and you are okay. It is decent and only right of the owner to offer to pay the vet bills.
ReplyDeleteI'd probably spray myself with pepper spray and I find it hard to break up a dog fight. JP can just yell really loud like The Hulk and dogs go flying.
Oh, what a very pretty Wendy! Did Peter Pan ever show up?
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm very much glad that you're feeling okay, Phantom. I think sometimes that stuff like that skeers the humans way more than it does us. Still, it's not really fun for anybuddy. (I'm sure glad that owner is gonna give your mom green papers for your V.E.T. bill. Mom and dad had to press charges against the owners of the dog that attacked Brudder Ranger before they'd pay up.)
Wiggles & Wags,
Mayzie
If they don't pay up, Alien says he will fly over and talk to them! :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you are being spoiled.
Hugs
Phantom we are so glad you are doing better and Mom has decided to keep you way away from that naughty dog.. Hopefully they will come through with some green backs..
ReplyDeleteThe little biped is so cute....
Big Sloppy Kisses
Gus, Louie and Callie
We don't have those invisible fences here which is probably a good thing. I hope you're feeling better Phantom, and I hope that man pays up.
ReplyDeletethey make retractable walking sticks you can carry. i keep saying i'm going to get one too for this very reason. we've had loose dogs run up to us here, but they were friendly and usually owner is around. still, i'd prefer NOT to let loki off leash (which is what i do to distract the dog and keep loki from going aggressive... if he has no leash pressure on him, he's actually much better with a loose dog and he tends to handle the dog so it doesn't bother Juno who i'm really worried about. ) i prefer NOT to let either dog off leash around a loose unknown dog but under intense circumstances it's a must for me.
ReplyDeletei'm so sorry this happened to phantom. glad he's ok.
We wish we were there to help. Those wild dogs scare us. Mom gets so mad when the owners always say, Don't worry, he's friendly. Momma carries a taser in her pocket. Don't worry it's allowed. Feel better Phantom
ReplyDeleteBenny & Lily
Pink socks are a real turn off.
ReplyDeleteActually, I think you would kick them off..
At least the guy offered to pay...
maybe you should keep giving him vet up dates ! TO REMIND HIM.......
Keep well on your walks.... as for the empty house.... ah shame. Lets hope you have good neighbours soon. xxx
We are so happy to hear that you're doing better, Phantom!
ReplyDeleteSo did you get your steak?
Love ya lots
Maggie and Mitch
I am glad to hear that the neighbor is going to pay the vet bill. That it he least they could do!
ReplyDeleteThat was so nice of your friend to mail you a card. Very cute card to!
I hope they get that black thing working for you Phantom. :)
Glad to hear Phantom is doing well!
ReplyDeleteYour grass looks great! and the daughter to to the twins is beautiful in her costume:)
Oh, Phantom, I am so glad you are OK!! I was worried sick! And steak, WOW!!! Keep working it, buddy - maybe you will get more tonight!
ReplyDeleteYour pal, Pip
P.S.: Your granddaughter makes a perfect Wendy!! What a cutie.
What a cute Wendy!! I hope Peter Pan made it on time!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm very glad that you are feeling good and getting lots of steak and loves. I hope it was an isolated incident too!! But, unfortunately, it's good to be careful.
Wags,
Zona
Glad to hear you are on the mend Phantom. And we thinks it rocks you got steak off that black thing. We has to buy Daddy a new black thing ours is broke.
ReplyDeleteWe loves the pensive Wendy.
~AFSS
Oh, the idea with the invisible fences is that after awhile the dog will be "trained" not to go out of the yard. It doesn't work on most dogs and Border Collies are notorious for figuring out that if the collar doesn't beep (because the batteries are dead) it is safe to go through the fence.
ReplyDeleteThat's good the man has offered to pay. It still doesn't make everything all right until he does something permanent to keep his dog in his yard. But at least he sounds somewhat responsible, so that's a good sign.
ReplyDeleteWhen my mom sees a dog coming, she always picks me up since I'm little. I guess we'd both get attacked then...oh well. Your situation is a good reminder for us to carry our pepper spray. You're right though that it's hard to always be prepared. Yelling and showing authority like your mom did is a good weapon in the meantime.
Teddy
PS: Mmmmm...steak....yum!!
Hi, Phantom!
ReplyDeleteI am happy to know you are doing well.
I hope they will pay the Vet bill!
Hmmm.... that steak sure sounds yummy!
Twix card is pawesome!
And your "Wendy" is soooo beautiful!
Take care
Kisses and hugs

I am very happy you is feelin' betters Phantom but I an still gonna send you puppy prayers...'kay? :)

Why, of course we worry about our warrior friend. Like we said, you just let us know and we'll come over for your next walk and we'll stand there with you to serve and protect☺
ReplyDeleteNice pictures today! Glad Phantom is doing okay.
ReplyDeleteLuvs,

Glad to hear that Phantom is doing better! We sure hope that black thing is serving more steaks for you this evening. Sorry that you didn't get to see your donkey friend last night, maybe better luck tonight?

I'm glad that Phantom is bouncing back like a Champ! I bet that the steak helped!
ReplyDeleteI carry pepper spray, mostly for wild animals, but I remind myself that I have it when we run into a sticky dog situation. I always keep two things in mind - it would be tough to spray only the offending dog. My dogs would probably get some in their faces too - but that would be better than being badly injured by an attacking dog. The second thing is it can permanently damage eyes if sprayed directly into them... So I always plan to try to avoid that. Oh, and one more thing, keep in mind the wind so it doesn't end up in your own face!
For your sake, I hope it never happens again. And, I hope that the green papers appear. K was once attacked, and the people never produced the money. Our dog trainer, who was present at the time of the attack, stepped up to pay for it.
Phantom, we are so happy to hear that you have recovered from the terrible ordeal and are milking (or steaking) it for all it's worth!
ReplyDeleteHugs and belly rubs to all,
~K and the Pups
That's grrreat news P!
ReplyDeleteMom luvs the scychronize photo of the duo but of course she luvs your pic as much!!
Cheers
Maxx
All three of us really feel Phantom needs more steak just to be safe!
ReplyDeleteFurry nice pikhs!
Wendy looked so furry special too!
We understand the mom/auntie thing - ours makes noises about so much anymore -

Loose dogs are my big fear. I'm glad to see that Phantom is doing well!
ReplyDeleteSam
We are so glad to hear that Phantom is feeling better today, and that the other dog's family is standing up and doing the right thing. Hopefully there won't be any more problems and the dog's owners learned a lesson!
ReplyDeleteBunny
Whew, Phantom. What a relief that you are doing so good!
ReplyDeleteI thinks that a few nights of steak is just what da Doctor ordered
MinnaK
it is nice to hear that you are doing ok. but you could always act like you are in pain so that they will give you lots of steak! hehehehe
ReplyDelete~Buy WoW DeathKnight~
Oh No! We missed this as our scribe must have been in transit somewhere. What a terrible thing to happen to you, Phantom! We're so glad you're OK.
ReplyDeleteWoofs,
Tommy (and the rest of the gang too)
I'm glad you're doing ok after that attack, Phantom. I'm also really glad that the owner of the other dog has offered to pay for your vet bills. I really hope he follows through with it.
ReplyDeleteI really should take better care of the grass in my backyard. I never water it and get several lectures throughout the summer from my mom. She just goes on and on about it. Yet her yard isn't all that green either.
Oh Phantom! I am just reading about your attack! I am so glad you are ok! I just don't understand people! And, we don't like those invisible fences either. They just can't stop a dog who is determined to get loose!
ReplyDeleteWe think you are very brave though! Sending lots of hugs to you and your mom!
Holly and Khady
Your mom did the best thing to do in such a situation: yell loudly and commandingly. Make the aggressor think YOU are in control of the situation.
ReplyDelete"Wendy" is lovely and Thunder and Ciara look happily relaxed. Please heal quickly, Phantom, my friend, and don't let this spoil your wonderful attitude about life.
Mumster is too hard on herself...she does SO much for SO many that sometimes I bet she just wants to hide under the covers to get away for a minute. Encourage her to take a little time just for herself...she deserves it!
Hi Phantom,
ReplyDeleteCaring furry friends are love. We hold you, Thunder and Ciara in our hearts especially if you got steaks there. We can get the pack ready by the time you got the steaks smokin'! Be ok there and it is wise to stay away from THAT street.
Thunder and Ciara really does a lot of napping time. So fun!!!
Love,
Piappies Fudgie, Princess, Frappie, Mocha, Sugar, Wai-Pai & Wai-Max
We're glad you're all doing better. Hopefully he will do the right thing and pay for it. Sometimes the only thing you can do is avoid THAT street. We hope it doesn't happen again. Paws crossed. :)
ReplyDeleteYou got steak!!!!!!!! We are packing our bags right now and we are moving into that empty house next to you - that way we will get to come over the BBQ's!
ReplyDeleteOn a serious note we are glad that the owner of the dog appears to be taking things seriously - indeed he should pay for the vet bill.
He is very lucky Phantom that you don't need plastic surgery!!!!!
Although you were unlucky you were lucky - if that makes sense.
Love the synchronised sleeping bunk bed partners!
Have a good day.....oh and we like our steaks medium rare..........!
Don't worry we will soon sort out the garden!
love
Martha and Bailey xxx
Oh dear buddy we are sending healing vibes to that boo boo. Glad you are ok.
ReplyDeleteWe know your Mom's first reaction would probably be like ours - to kick the other dog. And we also know that when it comes to handling 4 leashes at a time that our Mom could not carry a stick too - maybe with 2 of us, but not all of us. Stay safe - we don't believe in those invisible fences either.
ReplyDeleteXOXO
Lilly, Piper, Carrleigh and Ruairi
Wow..we are so pleased to see Phantom is getting mended!
ReplyDeleteBUT..he definately MUST HAVE....MORE STEAK!!
We are pleased the man has offered to pay the vets bill. He should now be a responsible owner and take responsibility and manage his dog. GGGRRRRRRR

The Thugletsx
Oh Phantom!! I am so sorry yous got attacked. Mommy's heart started racing when we read you was hurt and we came right over. Mommy says she she hates peoples that use those invisible fences.
ReplyDeleteHope you get lots of steak to perk youm up. There's nothing better than steak right off the pit to make you feel better and give you strength. Mommy would make usm one if youm was here and I'd kiss your boo boo.
{{{huggies}}}...Mona
HEy! DID u just say 'STEAK'!!!!??
ReplyDeleteOh DOG...what do we do now? Mummy has a veggie meal planned for today!
Glad that u are well, Phantom. Enjoy all the attention:)
and it is appropriate that the owner of the dog pays.Hope he comes over and offers to do that in earnest.and hope he will remember to keep the collar on , on his dog next time.
it is difficult to carry a stick with two robust sibes out for a walk...we know how difficult we make things for mummmy sometimes.
hope nothing ever happens again n u get peaceful walkies
wags, Buddy n ginger
Phantom I am glad to hear you are getting some yummy steak :)
ReplyDeleteTell your mommy that our mommy clips the pepper spray on to her waist pack so its ready as soon as she needs it cause if another dog wants to be mean our mommy has to control both of us and then worry about the other dog too so pepper spray is what works so far, used it twice. Tell your mommy to hang in there!
Feel better soon buddy.
That must have been furry scary, Phantom. We are glad that you are better, find, and dandy now! Be careful out there!
ReplyDeleteWoofs and Kisses!

ReplyDeletewoah you got steak for tea? yummy... we are happy that you both are ok it was a pretty nasty thing to happen stay safe and enjoy the fun of halloween - loves and licks x
ReplyDeleteLove the reverse synchronization! :D
ReplyDeleteI am glad Phantom is out and about again.
I personally don't like the idea of an invisible fence at all, even if the dog has a collar on.
Love the reverse synco pic - beautiful! And Phantom; we certainly hope that big black machine will churn out some more goodies for you... tonight!!! "Wendy" is just charmingly and beguilingly beautiful - hope she finds Peter! Most of all... love your "don't give up" attitude. I think pepper spray can be weird, especially if you miss and get your own dogs or heavens... yourself. Maybe that's why I don't even carry the stuff on those Sierra trails even tho we have it. I'm still muttering curses at the owner of the aggressor dog - my sis-in-law installed an invisible fence several years ago to contain their three labs. (She's an interior designer and I'm sure it was a high end one) and a month later, had it taken out due to failure to keep doggies in. Arggghhh. Hope your vet bills do get paid. By the attacker's owner.

ReplyDeletewe are really happy that you are better and you deserve ALL the steaks you can eat!

Oh Phantom, I saw this on Monday but didn't get to comment (blame Mom). I'm so sorry this happened to you. I can come over and go for walks with you.....I'm very protective and won't let those mean doggies get close to you ;o)
ReplyDeleteI think steak is the only way you will get better so let your mom know that!
I'm glad you guys liked your card. You are very special to me and Mom and we wanted to let you know!
Snuggles,
Twix
Steak makes everyone feel better.
ReplyDeleteWe are happy that Phantom is feeling better, just sad it happenend.
love
tweedles
We are sorry that you got attacked by a loose dog. We had that happen here once with Monty. Monty was on a leash... the other dog was not on a leash. The other human wanted us to let him go. We hopes that you gets better.
ReplyDeleteOh Phantom! I just read about your booboo. I hopes you feel much better!
ReplyDeleteLicks,
Ruthie
Oh Phantom - I'm glad you're feeling much better! Hsin-Yi says she knows what your human means about things happening too fast to react - and yeah, it's hard to carry a stick and wield it properly when you need to - even when you have one dog - if things start to go crazy! Things like pepper spray are illegal here anyway. We just try to be very careful and learn which streets to avoid and make a wide detour around certain houses...but even with the best precautions, you can be surprised sometimes! That's why my humans prefer to drive me to a park or somewhere safe to walk (eg. college campus) rather than in the streets around our house.
ReplyDeleteSlobbers,
Honey the Great Dane
Hey there....
ReplyDeleteI have only just see your news about Phantom's attack. I am so sorry to hear this and know that icy chill which goes down one's spine when under attack like that.
I am happy that Phantom is on the road to recovery.
Hugs to both of you.
MAXMOM IN SA
Wow, we get behind a few days in reading blogs and look what we missed. We are glad that you are ok and glad that the owner is at least taking financial responsibility.
ReplyDeleteThe problem with pepper spray is you might spray your own dog in all the turmoil. What we do is carry an umbrella. You can loop the handle around your arm. If a dog runs toward you, aim it at him and hit the little button. The umbrella flies open and startles the dog. Best to practice around the house first so your dogs don't panic.
ReplyDelete
